Kieran was tucked easily back into the crook of his arm, fitting there like it was where he was meant to be. He was little eyelids were already dropping closed when the God had taken him, and by the time he was settled in those eyes with their dark markings firmly closed, the contented little baby was now sound asleep.
Yep. Grendel was definitely a pro. It had nothing to do with him getting insanely lucky in having this very calm and easily contented baby.
He still assumed this might just be some kind of calm before the storm. There was always a catch.
The God glanced back to Ravnos, looking thoughtful at his suggestion. "I suppose...."
He did not sound very convinced.

What was that? Was Grendel getting attached to the tiny bundle in his arms? He didn’t seem too sure about wanting to put him down when Ravnos mentioned putting them in their crib.
It was endearing. The Disciple laughed lightly, moving to the side of the crib and lifting Vadoma up to place a gentle kiss on her forehead. Turning to the God he smiled. “Say good night to Papa, Vadoma.” He waited a moment in case Grendel wished to say good night to her before he gently placed her in the crib.
Vadoma fussed once put down. The crib was cold and lonely.

The God may have drug his feet a little, but he did follow Ravnos to the side of the crib. When the Disciple held up Vadoma, however, he froze, eyes darting to Ravnos, and then back to her. Was he...expected to display some sort of affection toward this tiny little creature? Was it not enough that he already cared for her?
Apparently not. Another sigh and Grendel got close enough to give her a very quick kiss on the forehead as well, feeling awkwardly foolish the entire time. Still, a quiet "Goodnight, Vadoma." followed, in his usual low rumble. Looking down at his son in his arms, who was very much down for the count, he lifted a hand and placed it on his forehead.
Goodnight, little dark-souled one. His voice whispered through the babes head, and Kieran, in response, wrinkled his tiny brow.
Grendel held him out towards Ravnos, so that he could take him and put him in the crib with Vadoma.

Ravnos smiled. That was exactly the response he had been wanting. This whole riggamaroll was what he had went through as a mortal child. The children would be put to sleep but both parents, affection n was exchanged and then they were tucked in. Sometimes read stories if they were especially antsy at bed time.
He realized now that Grendel probably had never experienced this. And it made him ache for him.
The Disciple wanted to make sure that their children knew they were loved. The others he had done dirty by leaving them with their mothers. These two he would pour his love into. Uplift them l. They would never hate him like Zapathasura.
Never.
Taking Kieran he placed a soft kiss on the babe’s forehead before he settled him down next t Vadoma who quickly rolled onto her side to cling to her brother as sleep took her
Once the babies were settled he took Grendel’s hand, lacing fingers together. Moving to the door he gave a light tug on his hand. “Come on. Let’s let them sleep.”

Unfortunately, Grendel himself had never actually been a child. He had not hatched from an egg or been raised from childhood to adulthood. He had been created, of both Caine and Lilith so they were still his parents in that way, but he had not been born out of love and had never been treated with such. He did not feel sorry for himself. He did not know any different. It was simply the way of things. He had been created for a purpose, much like he had summoned this nursemaid and reprogrammed her for hers. But, with Ravnos's help, he could learn. He could see what it might have been like for himself if things had been different. He could be a better father then his own, be one who cared, one who at least tried. He had messed up with his previous children, of course, though a couple of them had still turned out okay, and even seemed to still like him despite it all. His face had fallen into its more typical pensive state when he felt Ravnos's fingers lace through his own. He glanced over at him, and then gave one last look to the babies, sound asleep in their crib. Had the Disciple not tugged on him, he might not have moved. But he nodded, and let Ravnos lead him away.

He was glad that Grendel did not resist his tug. It would give the babies peace to sleep in. But he also knew how he felt. He didn’t leave without struggling not to just stand there and watch them sleep. “They will be fine. If anything goes on they will cry and one of us will hear.” Pulling him out into the hallway he stopped turning back to the room and looking inside at the woman still standing there in the nursery. “Oh. I completely forgot about her. What should we do with her for now?” Ravnos had forgotten because his mind went straight to Grendel. And other things that made his skin tingle. “Can you poof her into one of the rooms?” He glanced at the God. Wanting to figure this out quick.

Of course, he understood that he could not keep watch over them constantly, but that did not make it any easier for him to walk away, even with Ravnos tugging on him the whole while. But the Disciple's words also made sense. They would be fine. Grendel would know instantly if anything was amiss. This was his home, and he was here to keep them all safe.
They stopped just outside of the room, and Grendel looked back to where Ravnos had thrown his gaze. "Ah...yes." It wasn't so much that the God had forgotten about her, more that she was very inconsequential to him and, in her state, completely harmless. More like an object than a living thing.
Though Ravnos seemed to feel like she needed to be moved, and he could easily do that just as well. So, with one of his hand wavey's, she was gone, poofed into one of the nearby bedrooms, though something occurred to him afterward. "We...may need to feed her something, eventually. So she doesn't die." And she would probably need plenty of fluids as well, especially since she was going to be donating so much of her blood.

“Oh! Right.” He completly forgot that mortals needed food and water. “She feels more like a pet now. I don’t know if I signed up for baby and pet duity.” The Disciple said jokingly. It was simple she lived and the babies got fed. He would have to make sure she didn’t shrivel up and die. That would be of no use to them.
“What foods do mortals eat now? I uh..” s**t this was getting more and more complicated. “Can you poof her some food and water too? I doubt she needs anything fancy.” He squeezed the God’s hand lightly. Damn he was hot. Wait the nurse maid. Right. That first.
He tried to remember the kinds of things he used to eat at a mortal but that was so long ago what he ate then might not be so popular now.

The God looked thoughtful for a moment. "I always forget that mortals need so many things that we do not. I will probably need to make sure she is trained to go to the bathroom." They had one of those somewhere, right? That really did just seem like an extra mess that neither of them would want to have to deal with.
He then blinked at the Disciple. "I...do not really know what they eat..." He supposed he could figure that out too if he went and fiddled around with her mind some more. It was hard to just summon up whatever she most desired the way he often did with drinks when she no longer desired anything at all except to feed their children.
s**t.
"I will go and deal with it." He huffed, not mad at anyone in particular, or maybe more with himself for not thinking this through more thoroughly before. In the next moment, he had disappeared, leaving Ravnos standing in the hallway alone.

Ravnos shuddered at the though. He really really hoped Grendel could take care of it. He was a God after all and he had seen him do the brain fiddle from time to time. Hopefully he didn’t melt her brain or anything. Yea the human was a walking mess.
He let out a small sigh after the Tod ad disappeared rubbing his arms for a moment before he turned and headed to their bedroom. Right now it was the only room he wanted to be in. He’s stole the fire and then wait for Grendel to return to him. It probably wouldn’t even take that long for him to return

It really did not take long, though he could not say that the experience of having recently suppressed memories dredged back up and sifted through for relevant information was a pleasant experience for the mortal. Ravnos may have heard a couple of anguished screams filter in from a few doors away.
Once he was satisfied that he had tampered with/adjusted the mortal to his liking, he left her with food and water and poofed back to the hallway.
Oh. Ravnos wasn't here.
He poofed again, though this time he appeared a few inches above the bed so that when he reappeared, he could fall onto it with a sigh, his eyes gazing up at the ceiling and his arms held wide.
Mentally, he was feeling a little worn down. It had been an exciting yet somehow exhausting first couple of hours to the evening.

Rabbis had been tossing some wood onto the fire when the God reappeared. Flopping on the bed with a sigh. He turned his head with a smile, but Grendel seemed exhausted. The withdrawal of nervous adrenaline possibly leaving him mentally drained.
After fiddling with the fire he wiped his hands off and patted some dust off his pants. Moving to the bed so that he could stand at the God’s head and look down into his eyes so that Ravnos’s face blocked his views of the ceiling. “Tired already?” The fire cast a dark shadow over his face. The white fangs that poked out from beneath his lip seemed whiter than usual.
He felt a bit weary himself but Ravnos knew it would pass. He had also just recently awoken from slumber too so any tiredness from that he was able to ignore while they dealt with the whole baby situation.

His view of the ceiling was suddenly blocked, but at least the new view was a lot nicer to look at. His lips turned up into a smile, sharp teeth peeking out just a little. "I do not get tired." He said though he of course meant that in a physical sense. Thoughts of both his new family and his own responsibilities as a God were weighing heavily on his mind, each vying for his attention, but at that moment he wanted to just dismiss them both, and be in the moment, right here with Ravnos.
Surely that couldn't be too unreasonable?
His gaze searched Ravnos's for a moment before he lifted a hand up to grab one of his, and then attempted to pull him down to join him.

Ravnos laughed. Shaking his head. Long dark hair spilling over one shoulder which he brushed back immediately. The Disciple often fogot that. God powers and all. Some days he wished he didn’t need to sleep. He could certainly get a lot done if he never slept.
But he knew that the tug between him, now the babies and Grendel’s responsibilities to the rest of the vampires must be great. A burden hard to carry and so he tried his best to just not pile on. He was rather independent in that sense. Any time he could get with the God was his favorite time. Ravnos had however been ignoring his responsibilities to the clan just slightly. He trusted The elders to keep it together for the most part. If something came up that needed his attention they would tell him. But Grendel didn’t really have anyone like that to help him.
At the tug he smiled and climbed up onto the bed. Laying down next to him. Close enough to curl up against the God’s side and place a hand on his stomach. Letting it just rest there.

In response to the laugh, Grendel's smile widened slightly. There were times when he enjoyed hearing that sound, even when it was at his own expense.
He let out a long, contented sigh when Ravnos came to settle down on the bed next to him, enjoying for that moment at least the closeness of the Disciples body next to his. He had managed to sneak one arm under the vampire when he had laid down beside the God, and his free hand came to rest atop the one on his stomach.
"How long do you think they will be asleep for?"
