The large vampire turned to look at Regulus, glanced at Vespara, and scoffed. "What you going to do about it if I don't?" He asked, taking a step closer, attempting to forcibly shove Regulus back with a push just for him. "I'd mind your business if you know what's good for you, kid," he sneered, fangs gleaming. He might have had business to take care of elsewhere, but there was no rush for the bruiser. He was big, he was muscular, and built like a brick-- neither Vespara nor Regulus were a threat to him, and he was looking for a fight.
Blood would spill one way or another if he had his way -- and if some chivalrous d**k wanted to get in his way, that was just fine by him.
Vespara gave a small hiss, hackles raising a bit as she glared up at the other. "Porca puttana..." Her tail gave an irate flick, and she weas more than ready to sharpen her claws on this new scratching post. However, she also was aware that there was a good shot this stranger wasn't alone.
"I don't think you want to do this," she warned, not Regulus, but the taller vampire. Perhaps they could work this out before it escalated. All she wanted was to dance... but her claws were sharp, and if this a*****e wouldn't step down, maybe she could help. Her father's hadn't raised a fool, and every good Giovanni knew how to hold their own. Perhaps she'd get to put her lessons to the test...

His body barely moved when the other tried to shove him. No, this guy wasn’t going to push him around like that. Regulus might be Clanless but he was still a vampire with some strength. Regulus’s claws slipped out and he casually examined them. Not even looking at the larger male as he did so. “Just apologize and we’ll leave you alone to deal with whatever you’ve got going on over here.” Cyan eyes flicked up from his claws, the male vampire wasn’t worried about this larger vampire. He’d gotten worse from bigger and dumber vampires than this one. Not like he couldn’t fight his way out if he had to anyhow. Everyone was the same size on the ground. While a fight sounded tempting and a little bit cathartic. He had recent feelings that he needed to unpack and doing that while he beat the crap out of someone sounded enjoyable. However he wouldn’t want to leave Vespara on her own while things went down. “Look you don’t want to be anymore embarrassed me in front of your friends so again, just alologize to her and we can all move on.” He’d get an apology for Vespara out of this a** one way or another.

There would be no apology.
Throughout Regulus' careful observance of his claws, three more vampires had stood and moved closer, forming a loose half-circle around the duo. Whether they simply planned to observe, or to join in, would remain to be seen, but the stranger had little intention of continuing to speak. He wasn't afraid either of them, and was more than confident in his skills.
With the speed only a vampire might possess, the large stranger didn't hesitate to throw the first punch at Regulus. His body was tense, and he was more than ready to fight dirty. All he needed was to get his claws on the other to rip him to shreds -- he wasn't here to fight cleanly, after all.
Of course, his movement seemed to stir the other three into action.
Two were hot on their illustrious leader's heels, ready to help, while a third decided to reach out and attempt to pull Vespara back and away. Three-on-one seemed fair, and he wasn't going to let Regulus' petite friend help.
Unfortunately, putting hands on Vespara was not wise. With a hiss, she half-whirled to meet the other, smacking him hard across the face with claws unsheathed. This wasn't how she wanted her night to go... but if they wanted to dance, she'd dance.
Yayoi Feel free to pose whoever LOL I haven't written a fight scene in years, much less vampires, so... forgive any rustiness. :V

The punch connected with a crack and Regulus stumbled backwards. This wasn’t his first fight and because of what he was he was sure it wouldn’t be him last. But he had hoped it wouldn’t of devolved into one, not while he was here with Vespara. Way to ruin the night. He rolled his neck from side to side, a large welt appearing underneath his eye but it quickly started to fade away. This fight was stupid. They would all just continue to heal after blows were exchanged and there would be no end to it. But this other vampire was dead set on this. Claws came out and Regulus lunged at the other vampire. His claws connecting with his face, shredding flesh in four rough lines. The other vampire howled, clutching his face.Regulus took this opportunity to confront the other vampire that was attempting to get into it with him. He swept a leg as the vampire stumbled past him and ran straight into the other vampire clutching his face. The pair of them falling down into a heap of bodies. Regulus turned to the last one, cyan eyes narrowing. “If you know what’s best for you I would leave her alone.” His voice was deeper and edged with a threat that he would end up like the other two.

Though two of them had been thrown into a heap, there was a third vampire still free, who took advantage of Regulus' focus on Vespara. Without a sound, the third vampire slipped behind him, wrapping his arm about Regulus' neck in an attempted chokehold, and digging his knee into the back of Reggies. "Not so big now, are you?" The other hissed. He pressed Reggie's head into the crook of his bicep and elbow, hoping the force alone would force him down. While he couldn't choke Regulus out, as no breathing was required, he could attempt to get him to the ground, and limit his movements. He saw how easily he'd taken care of two in his party... he didn't really want to be next.
Additionally, it would give his comrades time to get up for a little payback.
Vespara, on the other hand, was only willing to deal with her current problem. Though she'd left some scratch wounds on her attacker's face, it hadn't been enough to get him to loosen his hold.. Thankfully, Reggie's warning was just what she needed. Her attacker had looked away from her, to glower at Reggie, and pull her more tightly back against him. With his arms about her, her movements were limited... but her legs were still free.
Slamming down as hard as she could, she stepped hard on the vampire's insole with the long heel of her shoe. Regardless whether or not that actually surprised or hurt him, what she wanted was momentum -- and it was just enough for throw herself up and back -- cracking her head hard against the others jaw.
As soon as the vampire lost his grip, Vespara jammed her elbows back into the others stomach, and forced herself forward, partially-breaking out of his hold. His claws scrabbled at her, attempting to recapture her. Though he tore her dress, and his claws raked her shoulder and back, she wasn't just going to wait. "Stronzo!" She hissed, whirling around to jab her clawed fingers right into his closest eye.
That did it. A knee to the groin, and she at least was able to pull herself fully away.

He had forgotten about he third when that arm slid across his throat into a choke hold. Luckily Regilus didn’t need to breath otherwise he might have been choked out fairly early with how much pressure this guy was putting on his throat. He had to act not of the pain would bring him to his knees and that was not where he wanted to be.
Regulus stood straight up and bringing his head forward as much as he could. The muscles in his neck tensing as he suddenly and violently brough his head back to smash into the other’s face. When he did the hold loosened but it did not go away. There was a bit of frustration in his eyes
Grabbing onto the arm around his throat he struggles for a second before he got an idea. He arched his back against the third vampire then suddenly leaned forward pulling the other vampire up abs over Regulus’s head to fall flat on his back on the ground. That had released the hold. He fell upon the other vampire with such viciousness, clawing and punching him in the face until he was almost beaten to a bloody pulp.
Visions of his past and being bullied for what he was and who his parents were were still wound that had not healed yet and he couldn’t control himself. His beast urging him on enjoying the blood lust as he kept punching the vampire in the face. The rest of the world had fallen away and Regulus was stuck in that moment of revenge. Revenge for them ruining Vespara and his night. For picking a fight with him. For the bullies that haunted his thoughts.

The original two vampires who had finally struggled back to their feet would have been on top of Regulus once more, had not a pair of very large, very serious looking vampires forced their way through and subdued them. Whether they were hired muscle or simply paid staff, they made little work of the original instigators. Their asses were quick to be dragged out, despite the duos rather vocal objections, and threats towards Regulus.
The third vampire's eyes were bleeding profusely as he squirmed on the floor, and was of little threat to anyone at present. And as for the fourth...
Vespara was glad Regulus had managed to get the other on the ground, and there was something very appealing about watching him beat the undead right out of the fellow. But he wasn't stopping. He seemed angry, blind to the crowd, deaf to the objections of what appeared to be some manager on duty to break it up, to stop.
"Regulus," she spoke, slipping over to his side as close as she dared. "It's okay, you're okay, we're okay," she reassured, voice low like velvet. Vespara reached out a hand, fingers stained with blood not her own, to touch his side, and run it up to his shoulder, ready to tug him off the other. There was a high risk he might turn on her, but that was fine -- it was worth the risk. He seemed wild with rage... she could only hope she might help subdue him before the muscle returned to drag him out, next.
Yayoi Poor guy. :c Something struck a nerve... got some pain there to hash out someday.

When she had said his named and run her fingers along his side his fist stopped mid-air. Cyan eyes blinked as he was suddenly snapped back into reality. Blood dripped from his hand and he finally noticed just how badly he had been punching this guy. His fries furrowed as he sat back on his heels. Watching as the blood stained his fur. Wiping that hand on the floor as if to wipe it away. His gaze finally turned to her and it locked with hers. “Vespara.” He sounded almost confused, like he’d had no clue what he had been doing. This whole fight brought up a lot of past memories that he wasn’t ready to unpack yet. “Are you ok?” His concern went to her now. She had been handled rather roughly. Regulus was relived that the large males were coming to take the instigators. “I’m sorry the night was ruined.”

Vespara watched Regulus, though there was no judgment in her eyes. Her brows knit ever so slightly as he stared at his blood-stained hands, but her expression was nothing but concern. He had been so cool, so calm, so collected up until the end there. Had he been close to frenzy and lost control? Or had something else happened?
Vespara had been angry and annoyed at the fight -- a bunch of drunken idiots looking to make a scene -- but she hadn't felt particularly worried or concerned. Something to laugh about later, as the vampires in question looked like nothing but a bunch of stupid, drunken thugs and bullies. They weren't a real threat, at least not in Vespara's eyes, but seeing Regulus so upset, so angry... She couldn't help but be worried about him.
"No, no, don't be sorry," she reassured, reaching out to slip under his arm. She snaked her own around his back, attempting to help him up to his feet. He might have been taller, but she was prepared to hold his weight if he needed to lean on her-- she was a vampire, after all. "It wasn't ruined at all, though I am sorry we weren't able to dance longer. Come on," she encouraged, trying to guide him back to their table.
The two remaining vampires were getting dragged off the floor, and DJ had begun playing music again. Vespara doubted they'd be staying long, but she wanted to get him something to drink, and give time for the thugs to scatter. "Don't worry about me, carino. A ripped dress is the worst of it," she clucked her tongue in distaste. A shame -- she'd see if someone could help her patch it up later. "The few scratches and bruises are already healing up nicely. What about you though? You feeling all right?" She let her hand rub his back softly, hoping to help him calm down a bit and relax.

Regulus allowed her to help him to his feet, though he did not lean on her very hard. Just her being ok was all he had worried about. People, especially certain vampires may not always seem like a great threat but they could be if things went differently. While the tear to her dress made him frown she hadn’t being injured with more than a few scratches. He breath a small sigh of relief. “I’m glad you are not severely hurt.” His voice rumbled. He felt better with her this close, the feel of her arm around him and her body pressed against his. It was soothing. And he truly was glad she was ok, he didn’t know what her fighting skill, but he should have known that Vespara could handle herself in such a situation. But for some reason he had felt suddenly protective of her and found he would protect her the best he could during the whole fight. Luckily for them it was a relatively quick fight with the offenders being thrown out. Regulus could feel the concern rolling off her in waves and he hated that he had worried her. He settled into his chair at their table he relaxed as she rubbed his back. After a moment he took her hand and kissed the back of her knuckles. “Thank you, Vespara, for the concern but I am fine now.” Squeezing her hand lightly to reassure her that he was most certainly fine now. What had happened was rooted in his past. And honestly he would have rather not talk about it. Not expecting her to want to pry into his life, but if she asked him about it he might be compelled to tell her.

Vespara was glad that he seemed more himself, for all that their night had taken an unexpected turn. Regulus certainly had proven himself, and had surprised her with how easily he'd handled himself. He'd taken down three of the four without hardly a second thought.. and the sight of it had pleased the young Giovanni greatly. She certainly liked a vampire who knew how to handle himself in a sticky situation, and her biggest regret was that she hadn't been able to watch him properly turn the other to dust.
Despite her pretty looks, violence didn't bother Vespara, and the sight of his blood covered claws, and the splatters that stained his clothes, only made him all the more attractive. Alas, she wasn't home back at the mansion where death was common if one new where to look or had access to the right places. Out in public, Vespara knew there was an expectation of her to behave. She was to look nothing more than a pretty rich vampire with an endearing taste for the occult... nothing more, nothing less -- and what good vampire wasn't at least a little interested in such subjects?
Still, her concern for Regulus had surprised her. They were still all-but-strangers, and he wasn't family. In fact, he was one of her first actual connections to another that had no ties to the Giovanni Clan. "It was nothing," she dismissed the attack with a small click of her tongue and a crinkle of her nose. "Though I am sorry we hardly got to dance. I was finally getting to see your moves." She added playfully, nudging him lightly with her should since she was still standing close.
The touch of his lips upon the back of her hand sent a tickle through her arm, and she could only regret that was where it ended. Still, she did not let go of his hand, even after it was, perhaps, polite to do so. "I suppose I saw other moves instead though," she added softly, approvingly, not at all put off by anything she witnessed. "You know how to hold your own, carino," she complimented with a purr. Watching him beat down three grown vampires was quite impressive, indeed, and she wanted him to know as much. Not because she was some damsel in distress, happy to have been saved, but because she had enjoyed it; both the Beast within and her own sadistic nature had found it more than a little scrumptious to witness.
"How're you feeling now?" She asked, reaching up to tuck a few loose strands of hair back in place. They didn't have to talk about the fact she had yet to let go of his hand. He could read into the question however he wished -- but she didn't feel a need to pry. Every vampire had their secrets, after all, and if she'd had her way, she would have let him pummel the jerk in to dust. A shame the world frowned upon such things in polite company.
"Did you want to stay, or did that spoil our fun?"

Of course Regulus has noticed she had not released his hand, in the mean time he squeezed her own hand lightly. He found the act comforting, no only her close presence. He couldn’t figure it out but he felt more at ease around her, she brought a sense of calm, he felt like he could be himself around her. Lifting her hand to his lips again he placed another kiss on her knuckles. It just felt right. She was trying to comfort him. To make sure he was ok and he felt bad that she was having to do that for him. When she mentioned his ability to hold his own he merely shrugged. “Growing up I was often a target for bigger vampires who thought it funny to pick on a little kid like me. Eventually I started fighting back once I got bigger myself. So it’s nothing too impressive. Just survival.” The question of how ye was doing now was a loaded one. There were any number of things he could respond with. While he seemed a little bit in shock from the fight there was a part of him that had enjoyed almost causing that other vampire to be unrecognizable. “Better now, thank you.” Part of him hated the fact that their night would probably be cut short. Even if they hadn’t instigated the fight the bouncers were eyeballing him from across the room. “As much as I hate to cut our time here short we should probably make ourselves scarce. If you are ready to go home at least let me walk you there.” He didn’t think her a damsel that needed saving, she could hold her own too. And it’s not like he had to walk her home, she could probably get there unscathed as well. He just wanted to spend at much time with her for the rest of their time together.

Vespara's smile grew, the tips of her fangs peeking out behind her ebony lipstick as he offered a second kiss upon her hand. Yes, she liked that very much. Her gold and purple eyes drank in the sight of him, and tucked it away for later consideration. While the night hadn't gone to plan, she didn't begrudge a moment of it. Her biggest disappointment was that, too soon, it would be ending.
Pity, really.
"Not every vampire could so easily hold their own against three," she complimented. Perhaps the outcome would have been different had security not gotten involved, or if he hadn't been able to get out of his earlier chokehold -- but as it was, Vespara was at least impressed. He'd handled them well, even if it was simply survival. "You made it look easy. Grazie mille, by the way. You certainly didn't have to do what you did," From demanding an apology, to putting up a fight, heck, to even letting her have the first bite in the mortal they disposed of earlier. Regulus was surprisingly well-mannered for a vampire...
Especially one that had been picked upon.
It made her wonder all the more about his origins. Perhaps he was some sort of Brujah? Or did he have a clan at all? It was difficult to say, but she wasn't going to ask, wasn't going to pry. Perhaps a part of her didn't want to know. The fact was, no matter what, he was no Giovanni, so his origin didn't matter at present. Not really, at least.
A glance around, and Vespara realized it would be best if they took their leave. So much for dancing.. The fight had been exciting, but she would have preferred having him to herself for just a few more songs. Maybe next time. "A shame we have to call it so early, but probably for the best. I won't mind the escort, so long as you don't mind setting up our next date." They certainly had talked about it, but given her idea to take him dancing had fallen so flat, she'd leave their next night out up to him. Perhaps he'd take her to the fighting rings, or the Baali pits, or maybe one of those clubs.... So long as he was back on her arm, she'd be delighted to see him again.
Picking up her bag, she paused to slip out a wad of cash. Enough to at least cover their drinks, a generous tip, and quite a bit extra to smooth over any damage. It wasn't their fight, but she wasn't going to be in debt to anyone -- and wasn't going to be blacklisted for trouble that wasn't their own. Money talked, after all... and Vespara had plenty of it.
"Ready, carino?" She purred his nickname, looping her arm back in his as if it was the most natural thing in the world for her to do. To Vespara, it was surprisingly natural.

Her compliments lifted his spirits a bit. The feeling of dread that came with having to survive washed away. She was impressed by him that was for certain, what with all the compliments on his ability to hold his own against three in a fight. It wasn’t the first time and he was sure it would not be the last. Being what he was he had to fight for a lot. Fight for food, fight for space, fight for his own unlife. It was exhausting sometimes but there was another side of him that had enjoyed it all. “Thank you.” A date. The word made him smile and he couldn’t help but place his free hand over her’s that had looped through his arm. Again her nearness and touch made his stomach tighten but he was more than happy to set up their next date. “Sure I don’t mind setting it up.” He’d show her a better time than tonight that was for sure. But where to take her, that was the question. As they left he guided her back down the stairs and through the door until they were back in the mostly empty street. Now he allowed her to lead since she knew the way to her home better. Well of course she did, he had never been there before. “Any special requests?”

Vespara was in no rush to make it back to the mansion, knowing each step they took was one more to the evening's end. However, it also meant they'd be one step closer to their next night out, which was something she greatly looked forward to. While she hadn't expected to bump into company tonight, she was quite glad he'd been out shopping. What would have happened if he'd decided to stay in, or if she'd checked out another shop instead?
As for requests, Vespara's eyes gleamed with mischief. "I don't mind where we go, so long as you're wearing those strappy pants you bought tonight," she mused. She was certain he'd look quite fine in them, and maybe she'd pull out something equally fun. She so rarely had an opportunity to wear the clothes she liked to wear, much less dress up for a date. Now that she knew they'd be going on one, she'd be far more prepared.
"Maybe with a little less rude interruption next time, si?" Oh, she didn't mind the fight, but they'd interrupted her plans immensely. At least he looked good breaking in faces, and splattered with blood. Pure perfection. "Do you happen to live anywhere near this side of town or am I taking you well away from your usual stomping grounds?"
