Speeding toward the compound with quick timing, all seemed to go good and he would be there in...

BOOM!!

The wall wasn't sturdy enough as a big hybrid fell through the wall. It was the Charcadet hybrid. It would have been no problem, but it was in his way and he had no time to slow, nor stop. Then he heard Amber in the back. "Deo, if you're able, use the electricity from the Thunderbolt to power up!"

and at that moment, Deo understood the mission. He would be struck with this thunderbolt, and with a swift flinging of the wrist to this Charadet hybrid, the water around him specifically. He would shout to this hybrid while using a weak form of thundershock "TAG! You're it!"

Monique turned back at Mela. She clearly did not like seeing a Fire-type against her.

"I am an honorable woman myself, Mela. You know, I used to work in law enforcement. Kalama and I are more than happy to—"

Suddenly, Abby came running through with her Pawmi in a limp attempt at an attack. She turned and asked a question to them, met merely with a frustrated glare. To Mela, this invasion had to look like the most uncoordinated mess of all time, even beyond the jumble that was Team Star. All Monique could do was hope her fur was not about to be singed.

Cera didn't dare dissipate the Aura Sphere she'd formed, keeping it at the ready herself. Considering the Charcadet and their Embers, the feeling was surely mutual. Still, Mela having a moment of levelheaded-ness meant maybe there was still a chance. She wasn't keen on battling on a good day, and Mela had a way of forcing at least her hand if not Monique's. A Charcadet firing squad didn't sound like a fun time unless she suddenly transformed again into something more Fire-resitant. Be it Kalama or one of the Charcadet.

When Absinthe came in and declared she was the opponent alongside... whatever that weird Pikachu-ish Pokemon was, she'd hold a hand out and seemingly made her decision.

"I appreciate the save and we're fine, but..." She remarked, before looking towards Mela again and letting the Aura Sphere shrink and dissipate harmlessly. If nothing else, maybe it'd be enough of a distraction for whatever else the others were doing. "If Monique accepts, so do I." She looked around nervously despite this, almost certain this might turn into an Ember facial and seeing just how quickly she could transform again.

Leslie would already be turning towards where the Rookiedee was posted on top of the one construct, confident that Lacuna had taken care of the other Cyclizar. No one wanted to ask her anything, no one wanted to tell her anything, so she was gonna do her one mission and also beat up this motley collection of punks along the way because they looked like they deserved it. Which is around the moment that she noticed the severed tail that was now sitting where the other Cyclizar had previously been. And then felt the sudden and painful impact of the Rapid Spin from the bizarrely mobile Dragon type. Being sent rolling across the ground and cursing the entire way, Leslie would finally scramble back to her feet. Apparently, she was still a little too used to being a ton heavier and was a little rusty on the stopping part from getting hit with a heavy blow. Looking up towards where she expected the Cyclizar to be, she saw her Mawile was already hard at work feeding it a Play Rough through repeated punches to the head.

But before she could go back to her sole mission here, Leslie heard what sounded like jeering and threats coming from up the hill as a Smog cloud rolled over her and where she had been thrown back to. Looking up towards the two grunts and their Houndours, Leslie would only blink a few times before letting out an overdramatic sigh. "I'm a Steel type hybrid, you morons! I can breath this like air!" She bellowed, grabbing a sizable rock from the ground near her. Closing one eye as she mentally calculated the trajectory. Tossing the stone into the air, Leslie would rear back and begin her swing to send the rock flying when a thought occurred to her. Smog was very flammable and reactive. And a lot of rocks had flint in them. Which she could tell was part of this rock's constitution from the sparks she saw kicked up as her hammer smacked into the rock to send it towards the two Houndours.

If she could hold up a sign that said 'Uh-Oh', she would.

Especially as the large cloud of Smog erupted into an explosion.

Well, at least her sudden explosive propulsion was sending her towards her intended target. Too bad that same propulsion had kinda made her lose her grip on her hammer and the weapon was now flying towards Absinthe. Oh well, she was asking for what she was getting. Leslie knew that she had to have come from the same direction and had probably seen those two grunts with the Houndours. That and the whole 'lets just not explain why she needed to stop' thing.

Amber's quick thinking would dispel the Fire Spin and save Deo from a very painful and hot time. With the Fire Spin gone the Luxray hybrid would slam into the Charcadet hybrid, both of them now on the ground. While trying to get up Deo was struck by the Thunderbolt, empowered, and then with a flick of the wrist Deo would harness the borrowed energy and his own into the water on the ground between him and the Charcadet hybrid, the water guiding the powerful surge of electricty right to the hybrid.

"Aaagh!" Yelled the hybrid as it got the shock of its life, falling onto its back. It would seem as if the hybrid had passed out, not moving for several seconds. That was until its slammed its hands on the ground and two blue fireballs came flying off the top of its hands and rocketed towards Deo and Amber respectively, Will-O-Wisps.

While the fireballs went at them the Charcadet got on its feet and released a Houndour. "Hit me with Flamethrower!" He ordered his dog, the canine barking as it unleashed a stream of fire into the back of its trainer, the hybrid standing them as it began to absorb the flames into its body with Flash Fire, slowly empowering itself. Looks like Amber and Deo had a proper fight on their hands.

-----

Absinithe and her Pawmi were foolish to come at Mela like that, jumping into a ring of Charcadet that all ready with charged up Ember moves. Three of the Charcadet would let loose their Ember attacks at the Pawmi the moment it became airborne, blasting it away from their trainer and burning it. Before Mela could respond to Absinithe a stray hammer came flying at the girl and if not stopped it the hammer would smack into the girl. Whether or not she got hit Mela was now angered further that someone who interfere with her honorable challenge. At least Leslie took care of those Houndour?

"The offer is off the table! Now I, Mela the Alpha Star of Schedar Squad, will crush all of you! Company attention! Fire Spin concealment!" Mela called out to her platoon of Charcadet, the little Fire type proceeding to stomp on the ground once before pointing their hands at Mela and unleashing from between them a stream of fire. The streams would bend several feet away from Mela and come together to form a giant vortex of flame which rose high into the sky. The giant Fire Spin would spin violently in place, the Charcadet running into the vortex one by one until Monique, Cera, and Absinithe were seemingly left alone, the Charcadet and Mela on the inside of the Fire Spin.

Soon enough the Fire Spin would destabilize and burst into small embers to reveal a giant vehicle-like machine where the Fire Spin once was. With its presence now made known some loud rock music would begin to blare over the machine's speakers, the sound of an electric guitar filling the ears of everyone on the compound. The strobe lights would spin and flash in beat with the music as well. At the end of the machine a one eyed creature blinked at the Snagems as it flicked its tongue around, two more eyes staring at them from the back of the machine. The headlights would flick on and the 'engine' would rev, indicating that this was some sort of vehicle.

"Behold! Team Star's pride and joy! The Starmobile! But not just any Starmobile, the Schedar Starmobile! Not only will it run you over but it will burn to cinders the flatten corpse its leaves behind! Prepare for the hottest battle of your life!" Mela declared from her standing position on the platform atop the 'Starmobile'. Taking out two Quick Balls she would let out a shout into the sky and then toss them onto the ground below, a Torkoal appearing from one and some sort of yellow armor wearing Pokemon that looked similar to the Charcadet just taller and more mature, perhaps its evolved form? When Torkoal appeared the sun above became more intense as its Drought activated.

"Torkoal, Armarouge, defend the honor of Schedar Squad! Iron Defense and Calm Mind!" She ordered her Pokemon. Torkoal would retreat into its shell, its shell then giving off a silver shimmer as its Defense was raised greatly. Meanwhile Armarouge would close its eyes and focus its senses, raising its Special stats.

The Snagems had no idea what this vehicle was but Mela sent out two proper Pokemon so it was officially a battle and she was coming out readying her Pokemon, they better get theirs out and quick.

The Starmobile revs its engine.

Monique's jaw dropped as the Fire Spin cleared. What had looked like a ragtag operation suddenly looked like a serious threat and had just finished unleashing a visual, aural, and thermal assault on her senses. The music blared. The flames swirled, amplified by Torkoal's ability. Behind her two Pokémon was some sort of vehicle...Pokémon...something. And Mela stood there, a determined grin on her face.

It was hardly the highest priority at the moment, but it loomed as ominous scenery behind Torkoal and Mela's other Pokémon, apparently called Armarouge. It burned brightly with shoulders of golden flame.

"Iron Defense! Calm Mind!" she heard Mela call. Monique tilted her head. Calm Mind... A Psychic-type move? She'd been considering Bonemerang on Torkoal, the safer decision, but it would be less impactful if she was using Iron Defense.

"Shadow Bone! Over there!" Monique instructed Kalama, vigorously gesturing to the unfamiliar Fire Warrior Pokémon, the heat flaring against her cheeks. These flames made the sun on the boat to Porto Marinada feel like child's play.

As the Alolan Marowak made her move, Monique glared at the other Snagems. Why had this operation fallen apart so utterly and so quickly? Her new team had amazing capability, but it never seemed to be expert in discretion.

The revving of the engine was not uncommon to Deo, who would have been in a fight while crooks made their getaway. He just had a fight on his hands, one that he would use his X-Ray vision to detect any weak points in the hybrid and there, would use his training as a boxer to beat the thing into submission. Though he would throw out his Shinx with him saying "Lil' Spark, I need you to Thunder shock this hybrid for me" and with a cute meow, he would do that and Deo would understand it completely, him saying "Sure thing" despite the others not understanding.

With the Fire Spin gone, Amber breathed a soft sigh of relief, but now she had a new problem. Sure, Deo was able to use the Thunderbolt to his advantage, giving the hybrid in front of them a painful shock thanks to the water still on the ground, but the hybrid had come back and released a Houndour. Oh, crap, she recognized those blue balls. That would be quite painful, though with her already being Burned, it wasn't going to do much. At least, not until Spooky got in the way, taking the attack for her. She knew her first Ghost-type would do whatever it took to protect her, so this didn't surprise her at all. What did surprise her, however, was the murderous look in the Shuppet's eyes that this strange hybrid had the gall to attack his trainer, the one person he trusted completely.

"Spooky, don't go overboard," she said, gaining the Ghost-type's attention. "This is a battle, not all-out war. He's not trying to kill me." Spooky, hearing his partner's words, deflated a bit, realizing that she was right. While the strange hybrid in front of him was actively trying to harm his trainer, it wasn't out of any malicious actions. After all, they were invading his territory, so it was natural he would react with hostility. As she was talking to Spooky, she noticed what the Charcadet hybrid was doing, and her face paled a bit more than it already was. Oh, that wasn't good. She had to guess he had Flash Fire as his ability, so by taking that Flamethrower, his Special Attack would be raised. That could pose a problem.

"Arauth, return," she said, returning the Misdreavus to her Pokeball. While she normally wouldn't return either of her two pure Ghost-types, this situation called for something a little more tactical. Pulling out a Pokeball, she released one of two Pokemon she hadn't used since capturing him. Sure, she'd trained with him, but she'd never actually battled with him. Gary, her Omanyte, stood there, ready to battle. He was happy that Amber had finally chosen to battle with him, as he'd been practicing a new move with her that he was more than ready to show off. "Gary, start things off with Shell Smash," Amber said. "After that, go straight into Haze, followed by Rain Dance. Bubbles, focus on the Houndour, use Double Team and Hydro Pump on it."

Absinthe looked confused as she locked eyes with Cera. "Wait, I thought you guys needed help?" Absinthe asked, clearly having misunderstood either the situation or something she overheard. She was about to apologize and back off, but the damage was done and Team Star seemed to mobilize almost instantaneously. Seeing the enemy go from barely a threat to a serious problem in a matter of seconds put a pretty big dent into her ego considering it was largely her fault that the situation deteriorated as quickly as it did. "...crap," Absinthe muttered, any confidence she emitted before seeming to shrink out of existence. She turned to apologize to Monique and Cera, but heard something wooshing through the air, causing her to turn toward the sound just in time for gravity to apply Leslie's new hammer directly to the young Deathrage's forehead, causing her to collide swiftly with the ground beneath her. She would have tried to stand and fight to fix her mistake, but that was rather irreversibly off the table for the foreseeable future as Abby got knocked the ~/~ out.

Not receiving any further orders from the blonde chick that caught it, the freshly caught Electric/Fighting Pokemon decided to take matters into its own hand and spit some Sparks at the the group of Charcadet that were spitting fire every which way.

"Not opposed to the help, but it felt like we might've had a handle on it in the moment..." Cera remarked as she braced herself, only to watch the Charcadet group up to make a Fire Spin that ensured no easy escape... physically, anyway. But then it'd dissipate to reveal, of all things, a car. A freaking car. That was now revving and ready to run over the lot of them. Scrambling for some sort of solution, she looked to the two Pokemon that Mela sent out. She recognized the Torkoal easily enough, but not so much the other one... Armarogue, she called it? Those smaller Pokemon looked a little similar with their tiny suits of armor- was this an evolved form? It didn't matter, she needed to figure some way to keep herself safe here.

She'd try to focus a bit on the Armarogue in front of her, Monique and Absinthe while they were busy focusing their senses, her body briefly reverting back and the outfit to disappear with it as she tried to get as much of a read on Armarogue as she could. Unlike an Ultra Beast or... whatever that Starmobile was, matching the energy was much easier to accomplish and she'd manage an approximate of Armarogue's form. Even their focused, calmed mind too. If, yanno, one was in some weird reality where they, their armor and flames were pink instead. Upside, the psychic abilities she felt meant she was still able to communicate.

"I, uh, have no idea what this can do, but at least the fire won't be too bad? Still, either of you have any bright ideas on how to fight a car alongside those two!?" In the moment, she attempted a Psychic on Torkoal... only to see something resembling Psyshock instead. "...er..."

One of the Will-O-Wisps would strike Deo as he stood there and utilized his x-ray vision, incapable of seeing the flames at that time as the blue ghostly fireball struck his chest and absorbed itself into his body, burning him and keeping him away from the Charcadet hybrid. The other fireball was taken care of by Spooky. As for what he saw on the hybrid for weak points, not much, though the source of his power, his 'flame' did seem contained in his head.

As his fire powers flared the Charcadet became more aware of his surroundings, filled with a burning desire to fight. Hearing the commands he braced himself, taking the Thundershock with a grunt as he bore the muscle twitching pain. It wasn't the Thundershock that worried him though, it was what Amber was telling Gary. The Omanyte would have plenty of time to get off its Shell Smash and then began to exhale its Haze but not before the Charcadet hybrid launched its own attack.

The Hydro Pump would surge towards Houndour, the dog leaping to try and avoid it and while it did avoid the brunt of the attack, as Hydro Pump wasn't the most accurate move, a large splash of water hit it, causing the dog to yelp in pain as it landed and then shook off the water.

"It won't be that easy! Houndour use Smog!" He shouted, waiting for his dog to breath a large cloud of poisonous gases towards Amber's Pokemon before unleashing a powerful stream of Fire aimed directly at the cloud once it hung over Gary and Bubbles, the fire making contact and causing the gas cloud to explode and likely send her Pokemon flying. The large stream of flames wouldn't end there as it flew right past Amber, seemingly missing everyone, that was until the stream turned around and began to circle Amber herself. It was another Fire Spin, this time twice as big as the last one it tried to use to protect itself, empowered by Flash Fire.

"Promise to leave this place and I'll free you from the Fire Spin!" The hybrid ordered, he really didn't want to harm anyone, too badly, but he had a job to protect this base and he was going to do it. While he waited for an answer he kept his eye on Deo. The explosion had dispelled the Haze before it reached him and it was remaining to be seen if Gary would go through with the Rain Dance or not, it was doubtful Rain Dance would be enough to dispel that Fire Spin.

The Armarouge would let out a pained cry as it was clobbered with the ethereal bone, the Ghost move proving to be Super Effective of which Monique would definitely note, that would confirm its Psychic typing to the hybrid. Cera was also quick on the uptake as she Transformed into the Armarouge, then proceeding to turn its abilities on its ally as she zapped the Torkoal with a Psyshock instead of a Psychic which was unfortunate as the physical tank of a Torkoal took the hit without as much as a flinch, only popping its head out of its shell once the mild stinging was over.

"Only fitting for imposters of Segin Squad to suffer the pain of a move taught by their boss! Armarouge, use Dark Pulse on the bone wielder! Torkoal use Bulldoze on the imposter!" Mela commanded.

Pressing its hands together the Calm Minded empowered Armarouge would form its cannon and unleash from it a pulsating ball of Dark energy directly at the Alolan Marowak. Torkoal would retreat back into its shell and began to spin in place rapidly before tilting itself and sending itself rolling on its side in Cera's direction, glowing with Ground-type energy and collecting dirt and small rocks on its body along the way as it aimed to Bulldoze over the Mew and keep rolling.

As for Absinithe's little rodent it would manage to shock one Charcadet only for another to step out of the way and retaliate with a comrade, getting two Embers launched at Pawmi. Picking a fight with the Charcadet squad was probably not the best idea considering how outnumbered it was. Hopefully Absinithe came to and saves her rodent or maybe the Pawmi had a plan for this. "Get lost kid, you're outnumbered." One of the Charcadet mocked the Pawmi.

The Starmobile's revving gets louder and the tempo of the music its playing gets faster.

Monique could feel the Dark Pulse growing larger as it neared, and it connected with Kalama in one fell swoop, the Marowak knocked to its knees within an instant. Between Calm Mind boosting its stats and the super-effective typing, her Pokémon stood absolutely no chance.

The sheriff huffed as she recalled her partner. Gotta try my next plan. Another Psychic would mean another Dark Pulse. The Water-type Crawdaunt was an option, but aside from Crabhammer, Mo‘ala had no moves that were useful, and the bright sun was going to sap its power. And there was no way her young Orthworm could do anything here other than embarrass her.

So Noio the Honchkrow it was, emerging into the increasing din of music and Pokémon activity. If it could get her out of a literal chasm, it could get her out of this.

"Foul Play!" She didn't care that a Psychic-type likely had low Attack. She needed to do damage and finish off the Armarouge.

"Imposters of... we don't even know Giacomo!" Cera remarked, the Torkoal coming at her pretty fast and putting even more pressure on trying to figure out what the hell she could do. Psychic and Fire energy was abundant, she could tell that easily even if one of those types would've done little to douse the flames of war in the moment. Trying to use Psychic seemed like it was off the table, too, but not the abilities themselves... at this point, she wondered why she bothered to take on another form instead of reverting back.

She'd hold her ground and try to dig her feet into the ground as Torkoal came in with their Bulldoze; the attack didn't set well with her at all, the energy from it making for a nastier hit than usual even with whatever defenses were awarded from the "armor" she copied. But as the music's tempo raised- a song she had to admit was pretty good if not for the circumstances- psychic energy would well within her hands as the armor's pauldrons moved as if they had a mind of their own to aid in trying to slow Torkoal down.

"Yeah, well... this imposter's... returning your message!" With her mental shout came a sudden outpour of psychic energy, the burst manifesting and expanding to try and throw Torkoal back at the Starmobile. Or at least off her long enough to reassess things. The Expanding Force would also hit one of the Pokeballs that had fallen off her during the transformation, sending her Joltik out from relative safety and into Paldea's biggest frying pan, very confused at the sudden surroundings.

Deo would look at the hybrid, and he would go from anger in his face to a more calm stance. ‘This is just a kid, talented yes, but misled’ he thought to himself and went to lower his guard. “Lil spark, stand down” he told his shinx and it would look with confusion at him but follow his order.

Deo would then look at the kid and with a calm tone of voice give this charcadet hybrid a talking to.

“Look kid, we ain’t here to kick you to the ground and beat you to oblivion. We are here to get ya back to school. I was a police officer in Sandgem in Sinnoh. I also had to deal with other kids who were misled and it often resulted in the kid to serve time. I don’t want you to deal with that. You already know some moves that I, as a new hybrid, have to learn of myself. You got talent kid. Don’t waste it here, you can go to the school and learn your abilities. I don’t want to fight you. I won’t fight ya. I feel that you can be so much more. Team Star ain’t the way. I’d say that about Galactic, Cypher, and Rocket as well. I am on a mission to find who turned me into this form, and I don’t want to destroy your path to betterment. Kid, I ain’t a cop now, but if ya get outta here, I will cover up your tracks, and not let the fuzz know you were here. Go to the school, learn, be a better person than the Star will ever be.”

He also would stand down, and be at a peaceful position and kneeling to his level. ‘ I hope this works ‘ he would think to himself.
