Er, I hate the word 'beast,'or 'beastly'
Like, when used to describe a vicious animal or something, that's okay, but when used like, 'OMG, that is sooo beastly!' (Beastly being used has hot or super cool), or, 'Zac Efron is such a beast!' (Hot/Sexy), then it just get on my nerves.
And yes, I know (or am at least pretty sure) that I completely screwed up the whole, "quotes and parenthesis" thing, but I really suck at that...

realitical Ksenia Sergeevina Mia Eidenschink Most importantly, 'ain't' is NOT a word, reguardless what the dictionary says. The dictionary calls it slang, and that is what it is! 'Ain't' supposidly contains the words 'are' and 'not', but isn't that 'arn't'? I would personally love to slap anyone who uses that word.The englsih language evolves, if you want a something that will never change learn latin ubtil then ain't is something you should accept or smart talking in anglo-saxon(old english). Old english is like a differnet language though, no one will be able to understand you without a decoder ring. I don't think there is a work people shouldn't use, but I think they should look it up in the dictionary first. ^^;; Please try to be a bit more careful with your typos. Also, 'English' is capitalized just as with the name of any other language. Example: German, French, Latin, etc.Well, unless you're speaking Spanish or Italian, or some other language, which none of us are.... So, nevermind. By the way, realitical, your siggy really did, "******** me up." -.-;;;

My pick is the word "woman" or "girl." They're just as bad.
I get sick of boys saying, "You're such a girl!" and "Don't be a girl about it!"
Every time I try to tell them that it's not an insult, they use "boy logic," which is basically them saying that they're right and that I'm wrong.
Being a girl is NOT a bad thing. It is discriminatory and derogative to use a GENDER as an insult. scream
I'm not one of those people that insists on political correctness, but that is something that really offends me. Trust me, I don't get offended easily, and that really bothers me.
"Native American" bothers me, too. Anyone else notice that the only people offended by the term "Indian" aren't even American Indians? I am one eighth American Indian, and I hate it when people say "Native American," because that means that they're tiptoeing to try and avoid "offending" me. Truth be told, they're offended it by it, not us!
Don't even get me started on the imaginary words "everytime" and "everyday." >____< Where the heck do people get the idea that those are words? They're each two words!!

I don't like the word "dork." Technically, a "dork" is a whale's p***s.

I agree that one should be careful when using words with dark historys (spelling on that? -ies or -ys?), the word Nazi in and of itself is merely an abbreviation for the Nationalist Socialist Party. It was Hitler who gave the term Nazi it's darker connotations. My feeling is that as long as a person understands the significance of the word and it's history, they can use it in terms such as 'grammar nazi'. Also, they should be willing to take responsibility for anyone they might happen to offend.
Other than that, let's see....worst misused word in my opinion....
b***h. Definitely. Most people don't even know what it means anyways. Someone called me a b***h once, right? So I asked him, "Do you even know what that means?". He looked at me like I had three eye and was mentally challenged. He then said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world, "Duh. A bitchy woman."

Quote: The last word I'm mentioning right now is 'Nazi'. 'Nazi' is a term that should not be taken lightly, as it has such a dark history. The nazis were people who did terrible things, that should never be repeated. Whenever someone says something like "I'm the (insert something or other here) Nazi!" it's taking a heavy term so lightly. Maybe it's just some of my own personal experiences. I've had people hate me merely because I'm german (the person in question was jewish, his mother had been in a concentration camp). So, to me, 'Nazi' is not a term to be taken as lightly as it is. I agree. Most of my mothers family died because of the Nazis, Which is also why I don't have such a big family from her side as I do from my fathers side of the family. I'm thinking of trying to get Gaia to ban that word, what's wrong with using stickler of fantic? I don't think any one would be offended by that right?? And just to let you know there are real Nazis still around and forming groups so we all need to learn from the past and not let history repeat it self

They committed acts of sadism and violence, drone, drone. That was 60 years ago. And yes, Nazism (real word? No idea) is still active today, but I don't see concentration camps and mass burnings in activity. Do you faint at the site of Swastika?

Nazi: one who espouses the beliefs and policies of the German Nazis. That's what it said when I looked it up, we all know what they believed in and what they did because of it. And I am no saying that there are any concentration camps now days (Not ones that are worked in, there are ones that are for show only) and I think we shouldn't use the term Nazi on any-one who doesn't believe in the same things that they believed in, or else people might think some-thing like "Hey, I am a grammer Nazi so lets kill all those in our class that are illiterate! After all that's what the real Nazis did!". I do not faint at when I see a swastika but it does give me the chills some time because it reminds me of what the Nazis to my people and any others that were diffrent then themselves or deformed in any way and just to say it was sixty years ago doesn't mean much because sixty years isn't such a long time really. So to get to my point, I will not forgive and will not forget what the Nazis did

s0prano42_x3 My favorite "word" is SUPERCALAFRAGALISTICEXPIALADOCIOUS! My spell-checker never likes it, though... That's because you're off by three letters. It's supercal ifrag ilisticexpial idocious. My spell-checker allows it. smile If you check the back of one of those Disney CDs, it tells how to spell it. It may even say it in the chapter list of the Mary Poppins DVD. I'm not sure, but I guessed, and I was only off by one letter on my first try. I also checked an online dictionary, and it means that something is extraordinary. Yes, it's a real word! Woohoo!

Someone mentioned "utilize" earlier, and I giggled. My crazy German teacher says that all the time. "Utilize" and "reiterate" are her favorite words, so one of my friends decided to keep a tally on the number of times Frau said "utilize" and "reiterate" during a single trimester. German class makes for interesting inside jokes.
I noticed Nazi seems to hit a chord with a lot of folks here. I don't mind being called a Nazi if it's used in the context of, say, "grammar Nazi," because I'll admit I can be. But I've had people call me a Nazi just because I'm half German and my dad is blonde-haired and blue-eyed. I never understood that, how a nationality can equal a political faction. At my school we call the snarky ladies in the offices the "Student Services Nazis" or the "Library Nazis" because they're uber-strict and get really pissed off at us for absolutely no reason. I only dislike "Nazi" being used when someone is called a straight-up "Nazi," like the kids used to call me because of my bloodline. But when an adjective such as "grammar" or "library" is added, I really don't care. I'm rambling... gonk
Beyond that... I hate the word "topic." It makes me feel the urge to spit in someone's face, and I have no idea why. I just hate that word with a passion.
AdiGallia mentioned politically correct words for different races/nationalities, which is another thing that irks me. Yes, I'm full-blooded European, but calling a person "black" or "Hispanic" doesn't make me racist. I honestly think the only people offended by words like that are the white majority because they feel the need to pussyfoot around the minorities. Really, folks, we're not doing anyone any favors. Because last time I checked, I'm not offended by being called "white." (I personally hate the word "Caucasian." The Caucasus region is in western Asia! I'm German-Irish, not Armenian or Georgian! Can someone explain to me how "Caucasian" as in, etymologically, "from the region of Caucasia" came to mean "of or relating to a racial group having white skin, especially one of European origin; white?")

Just like everyone else thus far--gay, retarded, Nazi, b***h.
You know what I find mildly ********." I remember reading somewhere--correct me if I'm wrong--that the word is actually an anagram used in Old England...Not sure of the time period.
Because sex was still improper, people had to petition the king to, well. Have it.
If the king okay-ed it, they'd have to put a sign outside their door.
Don't recall what each letter stands for. And even if the story's false, it's good story to tell, yes?

Yeah, the word 'Gay' is definitely misused a lot. I hate things like, "That pencil is so gay!" Also, annoying "words" such as 'ain't' and 'y'all'.
