Starburstnova Neither. neutral They're pop-rock Poprocks and Coke. A classic! Different band here! Sorry. I personally think some of the lyrics are EMOtional, but not emo. I just love them, even if they were a rap group, I'd love them! Happily, they are not rap. I think they are between hardocre, soul, rock, punk, and pop now.

When you search them in Rhapsody they come up as emo. I was extremely shocked when I saw this but then when I listened to them I realized that their sound changed from punk-rock to more like pop-rock but thier lyrics, not so much now but on "Take this to your grave" and " From under the cork tree" they have lyrics like "you wouldn't know a good thing if it came up and slit your throat", "So make my bed the grave and shovel dirt onto my sheets", and "but we all know which way I'm going to strike this stake between my chest". Don't get me wrong I LOVE them but I can definitly see how someone could take them for emo.But honestly as they have said before they make "Fall Out Boy music and they don't write or make music to fit a certain label."

I think Punk-rock cause what is the real definition of emo? is it a genre of music or is it a type of person or a style, the meaning of emo has changed throughout the years so i think theres no doubt that they're punk-rock. biggrin

Fall Out Boy=Pop-rock. Punk-rock. Emo. Hardcore. Does it matter? We love them, despite which label they are.
However, the MOST incorrect label I have ever heard about Fall Out Boy is that they are goth. rolleyes Some people REALLY need to learn their definitions.

I would have to agree that i dont really care what kind of music they are....i just love them! If i were to put them in any wide catagory it would just be Rock because thats what they do....rock! but they could be seen as emo i sopose because i always thought that emo was like a mixture between punk and scremo....but idk

Hmmm..., ppl call em emo... ppl call em punk... sum ppl call em goth... WHO CARES?!?! lol It's a label. It mean nothin' It's a way to lower sum1's popularity and their self-esteam... They are goth, emo and punk No they are themselves. I'm sorry I just get real caught up when sum1 calles sum1 else a label. Mostly cause of my brother. But "EMO" mean emotional. So EVERYONES'"emo" scream

FOB isn't emo. It's like pop-rock-alternativeness. FOB its own genre!
