Chakra does have LOGIC, though.
It actually does make sense. Hidan lived because he still have "life force" in his head and body. With no brain, that isn't possible.

Chakra makes sense, but Hidan the talking head doesn't. Like Juuyonbi said, what about blood loss? Also, you need blood to the brain for it to function, not to mention the fact that all his organs would stop working without a connection to the brain, and how can his head talk without air from the lungs?

Logic and science have no place in Naruto. scream
lol

Yes it does, if you understand chakra. Clearly, you don't.

So if I cut off your head, instead of dying you'd just scream in pain and swear revenge on me?

Cool. Can I try it?

"Actual chakra", if it exists, is different from Naruto chakra since Kishimoto took the idea and TWISTED IT TO FIT A FICTIONAL WORLD. Unless you can make clones out of yourself by using chakra/ki, which I'd like to see.

Good lord. I'm not even going to get started on ki in the real world, since I really don't give a s**t whether people believe it or not or whether it exists. But you have to realise that chakra in the Naruto world makes no logical sense because it is fictional, i.e. not real and not explainable. It may have been derived from a natural phenomenon, but having a detachable head is not a natural occurrence, it's something made up by a writer whose job it is to make up entertaining, but fictional, events like that.

How many times do I have to say this to you people?

Ki is a dead art. It only exists in very desolate places in the world. The only masters who still live are the ones in China. And even they cannot completely retrieve ancient techniques. Unlike Naruto, we don't just have scrolls laying around that do it for you.

It doesn't matter. Chakra has laws and parameters, and Kishimoto has not let left those parameters. Therefore, the LOGIC of chakra DOES apply, whether you like it or not.

Things like Harry Potter don't make "scientific sense." They do make logical sense. But more importantly, not ever fictional book in the world is completely fictional. All Quiet on the Western Front was fiction, but almost entirely historically correct. All of you only question ki and chakra because you think it's bullshit; some wild witchcraft. And like I said before, you're the barbaric townsfolk who burned witches because they could do amazing things (don't even get me started; I don't know if I believe in witches or not).

Who are you to decide what is and is not natural? =/

I think you're misinterpreting me.

I don't have anything against people who believe in chakra. I don't believe it myself, but I'm not going to tell someone they're wrong unless they get in my face about it, which has never been the case.

I realise that not all books are 100% fictional. In fact, I believe I stated that Kishimoto took an actual idea and tweaked it to fit his fictional universe. Yes, I did.

Kishimoto hasn't explained Hidan's technique and it makes no logical sense to me; my initial point was that there isn't really a way to apply currently known and accepted science to Naruto chakra techniques because it wouldn't make sense to do so. Applying biology to the whole immortal thing doesn't make sense, for reasons I explained upthread and more. How does Hidan talk without lungs, for example? There's no way to explain that using biology, so trying to apply science to everything in Naruto seems kind of dumb to me. Fiction requires at least a little suspension of disbelief.

I never said or implied I was one to decide what is or isn't natural. But taking off your head isn't natural unless you're a cockroach, and if you want to argue that it is then I'll just have to laugh and ask you to demonstrate.

So... hundreds of years ago you believe people could have chopped off their heads and wandered around with it?

Rofl I've burned so many witches. I'm like lol ya they're such fags and we just take 'em out and light 'em up here. It rawx. ...Just so you know, alot of "witchcraft" had nothing to do with actual mystical happenings. A woman from a different religion walks by your house, and your son gets sick. SHE'S A WITCH. A married man starts having sex dreams about another woman in town. SHE'S A WITCH. The only spells they cast were turning people into newts, and they all got better.

No it isn't. Not by definition.

"Metaphysical energy" IS chakra. I know. My mom's a metaphysical nut. Well, not a nut, but she reads all the books. I myself check into them on occasion. They mention chakra and ki more than any other kind of energy.

Magic is not explained. =/

Magic, as in Harry Potter and Unicorns, is a little different than Magick, with ranges from modern witches to natural cures (which, by the way, DO work).

I spell it the same way because I don't believe in either the Harry Potter version or the neo-pagan new-age whatever version.

SO YOU DO BELIEVE IN IT. twisted Unless you were only talking about natural cures, in which case, um...I believe I would take vitamins and band-aids over crystals and herbs any day, but to each her own.

Vitamins, the natural kind, fall under natural medicine.

I have found garlic to end an ear infection far more quickly than antibiotics. And no, I'm not crazy. A lot of kids use it. Modern witches can range from clairvoyants to just plain weird people. It would be weird not to believe in them; it's like saying I don't believe in the mail man, just because I've never seen him leave the mail.
