Personally, I like Elk better, simply because he's just better at everything (and he's adorable, which is a plus), but it depends upon when you're using Mistral. At the beginning of the game, she's pretty dependable if you equip her right and command her correctly. However, she stops leveling up after she quits to have her baby, which leads you to my least favorite healer, Wiseman...But I liked her earlier in the game.

I liked Wiseman too, and whether you liked him or not, you didn't get much choice in terms of wavemasters in Outbreak, it was either him or bust.

I liked elk better because I liked his character better ^.^

Mistral is fine if you make sure her weapons are up to par and make sure she has lots of spells and remember you can command her to do what you want. 3nodding

Hm, I hate to say it, but good luck getting Mutation, it seems like anyone who wants to play it has a copy, so its pretty hard to get one, I managed to stumble on one used copy at Gamestop one day, but.....
