Arnez Antonio Cesare de la Frontera

]User Image

The arrival of Rhea broke the monotonous hum buzz going on around Arnez. It seemed as though everyone had finished eating and Arnez nibbled on bits and pieces of food, but for the most part he just sipped. She almost spoke to fast for him to hear, so he simply left it to nerves and excitement as the cause of her sudden blur of words.

Finally... Arnez thought at the announcement from the prefect. He began to wonder who would be escorting them, and his curiosity was met by Charon's instruction. He ate more than his fill and was ready to get on with everything. Arnez wanted to see the rest of the school, and the bounce in his step let it show. He was excited to be moving on to see the rest of the school, and even more eager to get the school year started. He still hadn't met anyone but he knew that once the year started that people would open up more. He wasn't quite feeling homesick yet, but he did long for the family ties each student at his table seemed to have. He held his hands together behind his back as he followed Charon and tried to avoid getting separated and lost. No need to draw anymore unnecessary attention to Slytherin.

Rhea Ventura
1st year Slytherin

Hearing that they were to line up, Rhea nearly jumped out of her seat. "I'll catch your name in the common room, which they are leaving for now. Lets go, we wouldn't want to be the last one around here. You can tell me all about you even if you want, but once we get there." Nodding to her fellow housemates still seated(as she didn't have time to stop and say hello), she followed the Prefect and others away.

I tried to kill the pain

But only brought more

So much more

I lay dying

And I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal

"And will he not come again?" Dante, Charon, Demos, and the other Slytherins.
"And there is pansies, that’s for thoughts." What now?
"O, you must wear your rue with a difference." Wondering.

User Image Cosette placed a hand on Dante's arm, in an attempt to calm him. As she did so, she sighed wearily, shaking her head. "How many times must I say it?" she wondered, "Slytherin House isn't about arrogance, though self-respect is valued. We have ambition and cunning. People always forget that these are important traits as well... You do have a point, though," she said to Ronyo, with a nod. "Our house has been declining of late...It's rather a pity. One can only hope the new students will be better. Unless, of course, it's all merely a facade, so we underestimate them," she mused, before returning her attention to Dante and Demos. "You really should calm down," she pointed out to him, "Anger doesn't solve everything."

At the words of the brown haired first year a few seats over, she glanced over, nodding approvingly. Things may grow better after all... His deceleration made her smile. "Indeed," she agreed, before introducing herself. "I am Cosette Prewitt. Might I ask your name?" Out of the corner of her eye, she watched their head of house come to lecture the fighters, as she began to serve herself. "I welcome all of you to Slytherin House," she added, now addressing all the first years, "I do hope you won't think too poorly of us."

She smiled at Demos's polite reply, nodding in return. He was quite promising, and quite polite. "You may," she answered to his question. "I'm sure we won't have to worry about you disgracing us, at least. You know...you remind me rather of Dante in our first year. Though more social, certainly..." she mused. Ah, she missed those days...

As she spoke, her ear caught Drake's words, and her eyes narrowed. She was about to rise to lecture him, when Charon finally made his appearance. Slightly wary, she looked up at him as he scolded the third year. He'd learned her secret over the summer, and she was still afraid that he'd hate her for it. She soon relaxed, however, when he threatened Jess for something on her part--she wasn't quite sure what, but it didn't particularly matter. A small smile lit her face. "Another who disregards the value of a gentle lecture," she said lightly, "Hello, Charon. I'm touched you'd worry about me, but I can take care of myself, you know. And St. Mungo's doesn't really need any more patients..." Sadness flickered on her face, before reverting back to that dream-like calm.

At Charon's invitation, and Dante's addition, she nodded, standing gracefully. As she stood, she carried her doll with one arm, and with the other hand snagged a few pieces of food, which she placed in a napkin. This she offered to Charon. "I don't believe you got to eat much," she explained, "seeing as how you only just arrived." Perhaps later she'd ask where he'd been. Looking back at Dante, she caught the frightening expression on his face, which managed to pierce even through the fog of the potion. Quickly, to her relief, the expression vanished, as he turned to speak with his cousin. She left him to it, not wanting to intrude. But who to speak with now? Charon was there, but then, there were also a few new students she was curious about...

"Alack, what noise is this?" I leave for one day...

My God my tourniquet

Am I too lost to be saved?
Am I too lost?

Jessica Sassareth

Slytherin, Third Year

User Image Jess' nostrils flared in anger. Instead of exploding like the pair of boys did earlier, the pale redhead turned it into a cold fury. Channeling that fury through her logic and reasoning, Jess kept her voice in a smooth even tone in addressing Charon and Dante who were confronting her, "With all due respect, sirs, I have not done anything untoward Miss Cosette. I have made no threats or anything even resembling a disparaging comment toward the lady or behind her back. We may not socialize with one another; however, any dissagreements that may exist -- I have not troubled her with. Sirs, I believe your threats are unwarranted in basis and fact, and kindly ask that you both desist in this current course of action."

Evangeline Gordon
First Year

Evangeline found herself totally overwhelmed by Rhea's uninterrupted flow of prattle. Stars, does this girl even have to breathe? I can't see how she has the time....

For a moment after the tide abruptly stopped, she stared at her fellow first year. Who IS this girl? Before she could so much as offer her name, Charon arrived to escort them to the Slytherin common room and Rhea practically leaped to her feet to follow him, making every effort to verbally drag Evangeline along (as though she needed dragging). Whoever this girl was, she clearly suffered from a terminal excess of enthusiasm. Evangeline rose with more composure and followed the prefect out of the hall. She found herself walking next to the bouncing Rhea.

She glanced sidelong at her, and suddenly realized that they were both first years...they would share a dorm. She let slip a light sigh. Ah well...I guess there are worse things. Maybe she's not as bad as she seems; the Sorting Hat did put her in Slytherin. Maybe....

Tamara's Owl

A small Eurasian Scops owl flew in through the owl mail slot and flew over the Slytherin table, searching for the recipient of the letter clenched in its jaw. She circled the table several times, riding on the gusts of air breezing around the ceiling before diving down and landing in front of a silver haired third year. The letter in the bird's mouth had a name written on it in flowing handwriting. The name read 'Ronyo'.

Ronyo Storm - Slytherin
Third Year

Ronyo turned as he saw an Owl land on the Slytherin table and approach him. It was a beautiful specimen of the wise avian and in its beak was a letter with Ronyo's own name on it. Ronyo raised an eyebrow out of curiosity as he did not recognize the bird from his family nor from his friends either.

As Ronyo took the letter he thanked the owl with a nod and opened the letter slowly at first. Not out of worry did he work with timed motions but out of basic deductive curiosity in looking over the details. Not recognizing the initial hand writing Ronyo checked the signature at the bottom to simply see who the letter was from. With a grin Ronyo sat back in his chair and opened the parchment fully to read the letter.

Dear Ronyo,
I said that I would write to you when I established myself in Hogsmeade. I am now renting the basement of Honeydukes for myself and have established myself. When the first trip to Hogsmeade is arranged, I will meet you at the Three Broomsticks. Please bring Phi and Colton if you can. I'll talk to you soon.
Sincerely, Tamara

Belle had met Jessica’s eye of warmth with her own blissfully innocent smile and batting eyelashes of hope and endearment, of course, there was never a moment to enjoy the brilliance of ease before her attention had been dissuaded towards a thunderous voice overhead, cool and callous and infinite as a flooding downpour, but not in any sense arbitrary towards its victims. Those pale green misted eyes flashed with curiosities as a slow breath had been drawn in, and withheld, frozen still upon her tongue at the piercing eyes of Charon Gaunt. Before Belle had ever even been able to soak up the depth of the word uttered towards her companion, those bright eyes flew open with apprehension as she turned to watch helpless, an accident she couldn’t prevent. Charon had been busy herding the flock of first years when Jessica spurred forth and fueled with fire. Belle could only rise, extending her fingers which only barely grazed the hem of Jessica’s robes before the red head launched forth, defending herself, with quite a scholarly tone, as well.

Now Belle stood, shocked in the midst beneath the upperclassmen that had hailed to Charon’s side, and suffocating within the same one breath, just wondering, if Charon had heard…

Or would even offer the time of day with a biting remark…

William Dante Nott the Third

A different brooding darkness tainted this boy as he sat undignified with legs outspread and shoulders hung low into himself, the better fraction of the Slytherin table in his immediate surroundings were isolated. No one dared seat beside him now, all year, he had been overcast with the rumor of something deeper, something darker hovering just beneath the surface and no one had doubted it. Not even enough to approach in shock, awe, or wonder. A delicate curl to his snarl hung ominous and wretched, but there was a different light to him, a different mask than those of titanium alloy, quartz and crystal, or forged steel.

He watched the House Cup being awarded, and lingered long enough to take casual note of the apparent lack and disappearances of those in his year that had crossed his path at every turn. His vision of gold spun brightly upon the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw table expectantly.

Third Year, Slytherin Seeker
╔════▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄════════════════════════╗

Belle arrived through the throng of students, one of the first in her year to join the Slytherin table donning the simplistic black wizarding robes trimmed with the iconic visage of emerald and silver. Her blonde hair cascaded in elegant curls around her side like rays from the morning sun as she spun on her toes to take a seat. Upperclassmen dwindled, cluttering together and joining in hissed premise of what this year had to offer.

Belle could only be silent. Her eyes were stern, and straight, unlike the usual glittering green gems of curvaceous wonder and illuminated pride. She sought a familiar face, exactly as she had done during her last year at Hogwarts.

And, she was beginning to think she would never see her friend again.

She couldn’t dwell on the sorrow, no, that had never been in her spirit. She was better than that, she knew it, even the misery around her knew it, and kept to itself. She focused her attention on the Hufflepuff table, where Devon awaited her smile. He had been the constant rock that had kept her grounded, even during her mother’s frantic tirades, and another of her father’s condescending lectures, he had been there through it all. Of course, there had always been the sinking realization that he would never understand her. He had a family that loved him, after all. Despite how competitive, the loyalty and trust was there—a feeling she had never truly embraced. And all that aside, she was always ever curious of his ambitions and dreams. She wanted to be free, to taste it on her tongue and feel it in her fingers. She wants to duel, and play quidditch—never tied down.

Still, she was thankful for him, and ever still, curious.

But Belle shook her head and tore her thoughts away to glance around, Merlin, she could use someone to talk to right now.

Walking into the Great Hall, the tables quickly filling with the various House members, Hildy tugged at the sleeves of her robe. After near two years of turning herself inward and avoiding all contact with everyone, Hildy found the prospect of breaking her grandmother’s edict and becoming social again, to be highly intimidating. Especially here, with everyone gathered together. She had told Chase that she would talk to Belle tonight. But now she realized that in order to do that, she would have to sit at the same table through the whole feast and continue to ignore her if she didn’t want to have the discussion out in front of everyone. She had so much to tell Belle. So many times things would happen and she earned for her best friend to confide in. Chase was great fun and supportive, but he wasn’t much for the emotional distress. He just wanted her to be happy all of the time. So if she was upset, he just tried to cheer her up.

Hildy looked up the Slytherin table and saw Belle looking around. For a moment, their eyes met. Hildy’s face was frozen. She wanted to smile but her nerves were getting the best of her. Heart beating wildly she raised her hand in greeting before taking a seat at the very end of the table nearest the doors. She knew that their discussion was going to involve talk about her mother’s murder, what was said about her in the papers, her father’s continued disappearance and her grandmother’s crazy demands. Not topics that she wanted to discuss in front of all of Slytherin.

No, it would have to be later, in private. That way if Belle screamed at her or reiterated any of the ‘charming’ names for her mother that others had used, it would be in relative privacy. For too long, Hildy had perfected the art of being invisible and unapproachable. She knew just how to stare at her plate and put up a strong air of resistance and hostility to anyone that tried to engage her. But she didn’t want to be like that any more. Sadly, it had become second nature. Pulling her eyes up from her plate, she scanned up the table. Slytherin was a mixed bag, more so than the other houses she had always thought. Perhaps it seemed as such because she knew it from the inside out. But many of these people didn’t seem to fit the stereotype, and others more so than the cliché.

She spotted Tay and paused to consider him. She had met him a few times over the years, just a handful of parties or gatherings where their parents had introduced them. His father seemed like a nice, sweet man. As a child she thought that Tay was as well, perhaps always with a stronger air of something serious and deep, even for a child. But now…Hildy tilted her head. She had heard talk, seen things. It seemed that Tay was a good fit for Slytherin, more so than she ever would have guessed. But they had never really spoken, perhaps there was more to him than it seemed.

Gaze drifting over the crowd and across to the other tables, she smiled softly as she saw Chase chatting away with his old sense of glee and unflappable confidence. It cheered her heart to see him happy and content, no longer feeling guilt about her being the cause of their sentence. Dark orbs continued slipping over new and familiar faces before settling on the Gryffindor table. Devin Cloud, so handsome. Hildy was happy for Belle that she had the interest of someone like him. Chase seemed to like Belle, but Hildy didn’t trust her cousin’s intentions to be anything more than infatuation. Devin, on the other hand, seemed sweet and genuine, at least as far as Hildy had seen.

Looking around her classmates more, she hoped that she would get to know them better this year. Her third year in school and she had next to no relationships with other children her age. But she was set to change that this year. Starting with the girl that she had once considered her best friend. Hildy kept her eyes down to her empty plate for now. But after the feast, she would change things. She hoped.

Ronyo Storm - Slytherin
Fourth Year
Slytherin Table

If last year had been one of greatness it seemed this year was one for strangeness. Ronyo continued to get mixed messages and feelings while around Colton, it was enough to drive a normal person crazy and a few times Ronyo had to recount the information he knew, felt, and had good reasoning for to make things level out. Still so far this year was shaping up to be one to remember that was undoubted but still something within himself spoke of something much greater getting ready to come to pass.

Now thought Ronyo was looking to find a seat within his house of silver and emerald, not always the easy task with a house that almost runs on social clicks. Most of the people around had their own groups of gossip friends or scheming comrades which left few solo seats for the white haired Slytherin boy. Ronyo had almost thought to sit next to Tay and Belle to see if there was a way to possibly clear the air and start building bridges now that the demon thing was over. That idea was pushed away with remembering Tay's pride and the likelihood of him wishing to not allow anything that looked like a truce or parlay in public.

A seat did show itself though one next to a girl he had no knowledge of personally. Her face and other features were not stored in any of Ronyo's stockpiled memories which was an odd thing for the boy so keen on information. He caught the get glance the girl made to Belle and then the glare towards her plate which then turned into a scanning of the other tables. A curious one to be sure, but if she was an acquaintance of Belles then they had a common ground so as not to feel completely unsociable. With a smile Ronyo took the seat next to the girl and looked about the other tables quickly himself scanning for his three friends of the Chimera Club. With no immediate visual conformation the boy turned back to the girl and gave a warming smile.

"Hello, Ronyo Storm a pleasure," Ronyo extended a hand in greeting to the girl to take either in a firm grip or lightly whichever she preferred, "I don't believe we have meet yet, but if you a friend of Belles than we have some common ground."

Jessica Sassareth

Slytherin, Fourth Year

User Image When Jessica Sassareth entered the Great Hall, the pale redhead walked to the Slytherin table -- her eyes seeking familiar faces. The first familiar faces Jess noted were Annabelle and Ronyo. Taking a seat nearby, the green eyed Slytherin also noted Hildy attempting to recall her name...

Jess' slightly hoase voice spoke, "Belle, good to see you," and Jess' eyes settled on Ronyo, unable to stop a slight blush at the memory of the dance, "And good to see you too, Ronyo. I hope your Summers went well. And.. Hildy? Was it? I hope my memory didn't just fail me."

Pulling the familiar blanket of solitude around her, Hildy turned herself inward once again. All the while growing furious at herself. This was supposed to be over, why was she still acting as though nothing had changed? She had already rebelled against her grandmother, so why was she still behaving in line with the old woman’s orders? There was plenty that she needed to clear with Belle, she knew that she couldn’t just step back into a casual friendship with her.

Just as her inner battle was raging harder, a voice pulled her out of her reverie. Her dark eyes pulled up to a fourth year Slytherin that she remembered as a close friend with Colton Raines and Phinelia. An odd group, an assortment of houses and situations. In her inflicted isolation, she had kept herself from interacting with others, but she couldn’t help but watch and observe. Not that she always understood the inner goings of the various groups, some seemed downright sinister, but she enjoyed creating her ideas about what they ‘might’ be up to.

She found herself staring at the teen’s outstretched hand blankly. Slowly she slipped her hand into his, lightly shaking in formal greeting. “Ronyo.” She repeated back slowly. She had heard his name before, but never really appreciated it’s unique quality. Slipping her hand back, she took a deep breath, realizing that this was a first step. Stepping out of her alienation, this was a new start for her.

But she sidestepped the remark about Belle, neither confirming or denying their friendship, for she truly did not know the state of things herself. She dared to be hopeful but she resigned to the reasonable. Realizing that she hadn't returned his greeting in kind, she pulled her attention back to the white haired young man.“Hildy Balford. I’ve seen you around. Is it true that you have two wands?”

Hildy actually surprised herself with her boldness. But she had heard that about the young wizard and it fascinated her. Wands, their nature and the lore behind them were all fascinating to her. So for someone to wield two at once she had plenty to ask of him. Her dark eyes were alight with interest as she leaned forward slightly on the table. She could not help but feel a trace of worry that she might have offended with her question, ruining the closest thing that she had to a conversation with a non-family member in two years.

Another Slytherin approached their long table, greeting the others, and Hildy as well. She could not help but feel flattered and relieved to be included. Her dark eyes flicking up to Belle. Hoping that her once-friend would see that a new page had been turned in her book. Looking back to the new addition to the table, she nodded. "Yes, Jessica. How was your summer?"

Like watching the others, Hildy had seen Jessica around school and heard talk that there was something truely tragic with her. But what that was, the young Slytherin had no idea.

Eretria smiled slightly as she stepped down from the stool. Her father would be proud, since that was his previous house. She walked over to the Slytherin house table, already composing in her head the letter she would send off to her family as she scanned the table itself. She already knew the reputation of the house, and she wasn't bothered by it. She would either survive the house's politics, or she wouldn't. She was determined to make sure she would make it. She sat down in an empty seat and watched the rest of the sorting, interested in where the rest of the first years would end up.
