A Teddiursa. Not too bad, Aden thought. It'd be perfect for the practice. "Yeah, he is. Good eye." He had a feeling he might want to be careful, though. He remembered reading about what abilities it had. "Let's go ahead and get this started, huh? Nidoran, Focus Energy!"
Perhaps an unusual thing, at least to him. But he felt it was a wise opener; it gave his Nidoran a chance to collect himself and get a little pumped for the fight.

Apparently he was out to get Nidoran more pumped than what he cared for. The Teddyursa started to taunt and provoke the the Nidoran to no end.

"Different..." Not so much the attack, mind. At least to Aden. To Nidoran, it came off weird that a small bear would go and do that. He couldn't make sense of it, and the taunting left him more than a little ticked. "Go with a little luck... alright. Nidoran, try to pull yourself together. Double Kick!"
Instead of going for the Teddiursa, however, he tripped and tumbled. The mishap hurt himself instead, leaving him open. Aden opted to keep that in mind for later.

Use Fury Swipes!" The boy called out. He was already apparently on to a good start by the way he was feeling. "Ursa!" The bear cried out. The Teddiursa rushed for the Nidoran soon afterwards and started to claw away at Nidoran.

More of a gauge... yeah. Confusion was a pain. But maybe two could play at that game. Aden waited for Nidoran to get himself out of the constant swipes, quickly making a call at once and hoping to avoid confusion taking its grip. "Now, Nidoran. Let's play his little game. Flatter!"
Unsure of what this really meant, Nidoran figured to offer a compliment. Something to appease Teddiursa a bit... or maybe apologize. That might work better. At least he wasn't struggling through the daze.

Teddiursa! Don't fall for that! Another Fury Swipes! Go!" "Ursa?" He turned around, waving his paw, paying more attention to the trainer than the opponent, which left him making a blind reach for Nidoran. He leaned too far and fell over, hurting himself.

"Nidoran, come back, give yourself some time to recover." Aden was quick to recall Nidoran, not wanting to run the risk of confusion getting the better of him. He immediately swapped Poliwhirl in, making a mental note not to overwhelm the opponent. "Poliwhirl, take over and use Water Gun."
Watching his Poliwhirl unleash a small torrent of water, he wondered how the student might overcome the current predicament.

The Teddiursa shook its head after getting up off the ground, just now realizing that the opponent he was facing off with was gone and now it had a bigger issue. It gets pelted by the Water Gun attack, rolling back a bit. "Uh-oh. Teddiursa, you come back too!" he said. The Teddiursa was quick to do so. "Ok, here, my other Pokemon! Go get em' Tyrogue!" From the bunch, a Tyrogue rushed out and got ready for a fight. "Tyrogue!" the fighting Pokemon shouted. "Alright, Tyrogue! Use Low Kick!" he shouted. "The Tyrogue rushed for the Poliwhirl and went to land a swift kick upon it.

Then he saw his Poliwhirl get hit by the sweeping kick. "Alright... Poliwhirl, Body Slam!" The Pokemon responded to this by way of a counterattack, trying to slam his full weight onto the Tyrouge.

Tyrogue trying to give the Low Kick everything he had met with the Poliwhirl's Body Slam, hardly doing much to it by the way it seemed. Instead, he jumped off the Poliwhirl, trying to prevent too much damage from happening to itself. "That was close, Tyrogue!" "Ty rogue!" The Tyrogue spoke. "Ok, uh. Try Rock Smash!" he shouted. The Tyrogue's fist then lit up and then charged after the Poliwhirl once more, swinging at the Poliwhirl.

Despite the spray of bubbles, however, Poliwhirl was still hit by the swing and was disrupted. He was quick to get himself to recover, but his guard was down a little from the attack.

But with Poliwhirl firing off the chilling beam at close range, one had to wonder how much mixing was being done. Then again, it was different than what someone like Falkner might do.

Tyrogue!" "Oh ho! Looks bad for your Tyrogue there!" The instructor spoke from the sidelines. "You know that a Pokemon can't fight back under such a condition you know!" "Oooooo." he dug around in his pockets. "Tyrogue, return!" He shouted. The Tyrogue got recalled back into its Pokeball. "Teddiursa, back out!" "Teddi!" The bear hopped back out on the field, ready to go at it again. Apparently its feeling better now.

"That would be closer to the lines of a last resort. Something to be careful about." Aden spoke up. Really, he feared that he might've gone just a little overboard when he froze the Tyrogue in place. "Here, Poliwhirl, let me return you for now. Nidoran, come back!"
He quickly swapped Poliwhirl out for his Nidoran, whom of which was doing better himself.
