Sympathy
(Hobbits, notoriously, eat a lot. They really enjoy food. They represent a love and appreciation for the simplest bounty of nature: nourishment. This is why running out of Lamas Bread is a particular hardship for Frodo and Samwise. See? An easy connection. Also, Elevenses is a kind of early snack time and it's mentioned in both Tolkien's writings and Peter Jackson's wonderful adaptation of Fellowship of the Rings, along with Second Breakfast, Tea and several other traditional mealtimes, all of which Hobbits, it would seem, regularly partake of. I LIKE hobbits.)
(Ps. Nuts I had to change my answer 'cause Bookwyrme got here first, but I really like hobbits, so I left my longer, more pedantic reply in here)
