"NO!" he yells in a loud, echoing voice. *April freezes, then is pulled back to the group* "Now, you're probably wondering what I mean. You're probably wondering why I'm able to do these things. Well, I'm a mystic. But more importantly, I'm a member of the Commitee of Souls. It's best to explain both by talking about the past.....
Long ago, there was a war between the humans and the Gods. It started when the Gods started showing favor to certain humans, giving them powers and abilites that no mortal could possess. Other humans who weren't chosen didn't like this favoritism, and rebelled against the Gods. So, those chosen had to end the rebellion, and exterminate all the warriors of the uprising. They did...but...those unchosen left were punished. The Gods put a curse on them...and the walking plague began. Only those who were unchosen could be infected, as punishment for their past sins, but...the chosen started to feel sympathy for their brethren. So...my family, a clan who'd been chosen by the supreme God, Ashatu, put a seal on the dna of all unchosen. Your 'virus' was merely the weakening of our seals, and the 'vaccine' only the efforts of the remnants of the Moto clan. However, our numbers are few, we can't permanently seal the plague. It will come back...that's where the prophecy comes into play...."
