God dammit! Now that I don't have my XBox, all these good games are coming out. I haven't played for a while and I'm really not caring, but, holy s**t there's a lot of really good games. So far, I haven't played what I was dying for; Dead Space. I also wanted Fallout 3, and now I want Left 4 dead. I'm setting priorities on these games, all in that order.

There are a couple things communism is very good at...

1. Literacy... This is historically true be it russia or cuba. Communist countries strive to teach their population how to read and write, during the Cold War Russia actually had a higher literacy rate then the United States.

2. Emergency Health Care... This is one people don't actually know about most of the time. There are two key measures of quality of health care in a nation. The first is the infant mortality rate, and the second is life expectancy. Cuba, a tropical nation with tropical diseases and what could best be described as a third-world economy actually has a lower infant mortality rate then the United States and only a slightly shorter life expectancy.

3. Military capacity... A communist country is capable of supporting a much larger military then a capitalistic one. The main reason for this is that the arms manufacturers don't need to make a profit. Because of this a communist nation can build more tanks and equipment of equal quality to a capitalist nation per monetary investment. (Remnants of this remain in the russian military development. The factories are owned by the government and the government merely pays the design teams for their designs. Sukhoi and Mikoyan aren't companies per say, but teams of designers. They don't build planes, but merely create the blueprints. Hence they've been able to develop and build planes faster then Lockheed Martin or Boeing).

Things many people claim that aren't true.

1. Lack of personal freedoms, especially the right to bear arms. LOL. Did you know that the second biggest gun culture in the world is Russia? That government owned factories of Tula and Izhamash produce hundreds of thousands of hunting rifles and semi-automatic carbines for home defense? Now often times the media is controlled by the government and is always owned by the government, but then so is the BBC. Yes Russia did have a police state setup... but how often do you hear about Cubans being hauled off to some god forsaken corner of the island and worked to death.

Conclusions.

Communism works so long as its in a third-world country, not ruled by Kim Jong-Il, and there's nothing valuable enough in the country for the party bosses to steal. Ex. Cuba.

Mandalore Warrior

That's not really enough. An actual developed language would take a while to create. To the point where there's an online translator.

It is indeed not enough. But it is the start. This makes our culture that much more alive and real.

And one day, I will see our kind have a following off the computer. With the symbols of our clans and our Manda'lor painted on the streets and buildings, a sign that we are strong and we will not be ignored any longer. That we are a honorable and devoted people and we will not be shunned to the pages of forums and websites any longer. That we call ourselves Mandalorians and we shall be recognized or the world shall burn at our feet!!

True communism has not once been practiced in the history of the world.

In its ideal form, it's exactly that, ideal, but it requires the will of the people to strive for it. Everyone shares, meaning nobody is left out, etc. If one persons prospers, then it means everyone else also prospers.

But, 2 major flaws always prevent this:

1. Not everyone, especially the wealthy, are willing to share for the sake of goodness. To them, they're sacrificing all their success and being reduced to " just like everyone else. "
2. Regulation by government is required to ensure that everything is shared correctly. For example, someone's gotta be making sure everyone gets their fair share. Well, in order to do that, they must have control over it. When the government has that control, they always abuse it, turning the attempt at Communism into Socialism.

IMO, the key difference between those 2: Communism is done by the will of the people themselves, where Socialism is forced upon them whether they want it or not.

Democracy died the day the South lost the Civil War. The Confederacy left the Union out of fear that industry would create a government for the wealthy. They wanted popular sovereignty. The Union won the war, and today, America is a capitalistic Hell where the rich have the power. The Confederacy's fear became reality.
