The Flower Meadow

Sarafina looked up at Demitri with her soft eyes, she licked him. One by one she licked the pups making sure they were clean and happy. Her face slowly spread a smile as her ears folded back.

Phir yawned as she walked through the trees. Her golden brown fur shining brillantly in the warm evening sun. She made her way slowly to the opening where she thought the flower field might be. Phir's bright yellow eyes danced about for other signs of life as Suyuri, the white wolf pup, followed quietly behind her. How did she get stuck with the pup? she wondered half annoyed for she was usually at the hot springs sipping sake, but with her usual routine broken, she had to find something the little one would like until she was able to find someone else to dump the kid on to.
Finally reaching the flowers, Phir's tail flicked and brushed against Suyuri's face. "Here we are. . .go . .play . . .or something," Phir said. Laying down with a huff, she watched Suyuri quietly, but happily roam through the flowers in front of her.

Semai sniffed around, slowly walking through the green grass. She broke free of the trees and suddenly found herself in a small meadow. When she lifted her head, she saw it was surrounded by the tall saplings that she had previously been walking through. Her right ear twitched slightly as she heard a rustling coming from her side, making her two hoops jingle lowly. She crouched down with caution as she swept her eyes through the meadow again, and caught sight of a white streak jumping around. Who?

Phir lifted her head lazily as another's scent tickled her nose. The scent was close to Suyuri which made her a little cautious. Her tail flicked behind her as she watched the scenery from where the scent came from.

Meanwhile, Suyuri was chasing a dragonfly through the meadow when she popped up in front of the new wolf. Her jaws snapped in an attempt to catch the dragonfly, but it didn't work and she attacked a dandelion instead. As the sour taste flooded her senses, she yelped in surprise and ran back to Phir; quickly she changed into her hume form and rubbed her tongue with her hand, trying to get rid of the taste. Phir only laughed.

Semai yelped as the young pup suddenly jumped in front of her, and ran a short distance away. She skidded to a halt and turned to look back from where she had come. Her body was low to the ground with her tail tucked in close behind her. The pup had disappeared from where she had been, and Semai scanned the meadow nervously searching for her. She had also run a short distance away to another wolf who looked older and was obviously watching over her. The other wolf was a golden brown and had magnificient yellow eyes that shinned when she laughed at the pup at her side. Semai sniffed at them, trying to decide whether or not to approach the pair or not. She began crawling toward but paused after a few feet, still hesitant to move closer to the other wolf.

Phir watched Suyuri battle the taste for a moment before thinking of an idea. She began rumaging through her kimono's large red sleeve and finally pulled out a small, white, porcelin bottle which she held out to Suyuri. "Here, drink a sip of this and it'll get that taste out," Phir commented.

Suyuri's icy blue eyes watched the bottle for a moment before hesitantly grabbing the bottle from her, still unsure of the older wolf. Though she did pop the stopper and take a sip only to cough it up and nearly drop the bottle. The strong liquid took her breath away.

As Suyuri sat coughing, Phir pulled an upset face. "What's wrong? Don't like sake kid?" she asked as she took a sip then put it back in her kimono. She pat Suyuri's head lightly as she commented, "You might want to go apologize to that woman for scaring her dear."

Suyuri blinked when she got her breath back and looked to where the new wolf was. "Oh. . ." she said in almost a whisper and began to slowly make her way back to the newcomer in her wolf form. When she got up in front of her, Suyuri tucked her tail under her and her ears flattened. "I'm sorry Miss. . .I didn't mean to . . .scare you. . ."

Semai blinked in suprise. No one had ever appologized to her before. They usually blamed her for being so scared all the time.
"It's alright..." She replied in her soft, unsure voice. "It was my fault as well. I'm sorry." She offered the young one a small smile and tilted her head to the side. Her fingers played with the sleeves of her kimono in nervousness.

The Raven called out, purple eyes watching the scenes below him. The smaller one and the older one traveled together, the other female had stumbled upon them. Well, more like the younger one scared the third female. Which in the end, allowed the three to start communicating amongst themselves. Ramurtha watched silently a bit more before calling out again and flapping his wings, taking off from the rock he was sitting on and flying past the group, to find Vantari.

Vantari was not far off, walking at an easy pace as the beads and feathers in his mane jostled about. The air around him held power, but not one of strength or agility, but something of the elements. The powers of the earth below and above. His eyes watched about, the field gave him no coverage and his blue-gray fur stuck out like a sore thumb. He looked about the field, it was a grand one, full and ripe of life as the wind played with the grasses and flowers, the scents all collided into a pleasant one, and the sun was warm on his back. It was a lovely day, in other words. The Shaman heard Ramurtha's call and stopped, turning in the direction it came from. His ears stood out, erected as he listened for any other calls. None came and Vantari frowned and took off in that direction, Ramurtha was the reason he was out here and away from the dark cave he called home. He soon heard other voices and slowed his pace, feeling his hackles bristle as the scent of other wolves entered his nostrils. He took a deep breath, the nostrils flaring as he tried to figure out if they were dangerous or not, if any scenario turned out to be life-threatening, he could protect himself. He continued, hearing Ramurtha's call once more and he quickened his pace, and stopped on a small hill. He saw the forms - all three females - and watched them, all were in their human form as well.

Vantari growled, softly, and soon saw the dark form of the raven come his way, He watched as the Raven circled him and then landed on his back, near his right shoulder. The Raven pecked him softly and affectionately and they shared some words amongst their thoughts. Vantari was displeased but nevertheless happy to find such a field in the lands, where he could get reagents and conduct shamanic business. Vantari's dark eyes landed on the group already, they surely already noticed him, so there was no point in leaving just yet. These were the first wolves he has seen in the week or so he has been here. Making a final decision in his head, Vantari walked towards the group, watching them carefully for any sign of illness towards him.

Phir listened to the cawing of a raven that sounded closer then she thought. Lazily, she watched with flickering yellow eyes as it flew off above her. It had been quite some time since she had actually set eyes on a raven which made her wonder where it had come from. Sighing, she returned to her golden wolf form and laid down, still her gaze was upon the pup, who played contently in front of her.
Suyuri had apologized and watched the female leave. Her head tilted slightly out of the innocent curiousity she had; where had the female come from? A red butterfly came out of nowhere and landed on her nose causing her to blink in surprise. Shaking her white muzzle, she watched with soft blue eyes as the butterfly danced before her. Suyuri's tail began to sway happily as she chase the butterfly around the field trying to get it to land on her once again.
The butterfly had other ideas though and began to flutter into the woods. Suyuri stopped at the edge, watching it go off without her. She wouldn't dare leave the company of Phir, the only wolf she knew around at the moment. Her head turned back to the older wolf, noticing her movements did not go unnoticed by Phir. Suddenly, she began to hear something moving in the woods. Thinking it was the butterfly returning she began to wag her tail once again and turned her head to see; only it wasn't the butterfly, but a large male wolf that had feathers and beads in his mane. Her ears lowered in fright and she quickly ran back to Phir's side, trying to hide under her.
Phir, on the other hand, just laid there watching the new wolf and waited for him to get closer.

It seemed the tables had turned. This time, the young one was the frightened, not the frightening. Vantari chuckled softly, amused. His dark eyes peered at the raven on his back for a second before looking back at the females. No one showed any illness so the shaman allowed himself to come closer. He kept eye-contact with the older one, knowing she would be the one most troublesome if the situation turned out negative. He stopped a few yards away, still giving them a respectable distance. He studied them, since he was closer, and made sure their forms were imprinted in his mind. He had great memory, and they would not be soon forgotten. If they ever were. Vantari then made eye-contact with the older one once more, nodded his head. The movement was simple but elegant, the skull in between his ears was more visible. The maroon beads clinked together softly, making a soft clinking sound.

The Raven cawed again, and Vantari growled as his response. They probably already knew his existence, and the Raven gave his call right in Vantari's ear. The Raven shook its body, as if laughing. Vantari's aggravated eyes glared at the bird before making their way back to the eldest wolf once more. "I'm Vantari," He simply called out, voice smooth. It was a simple greeting but he felt it satisfactory. "And this is Ramurtha." He nodded at the Raven on his back. "Did not mean to intrude on anything," He apologized, simply, once again. He then grew quiet, waiting for them to introduce themselves or do something.

Phir watched the wolf with flickering golden eyes. A small grin played across her face for a moment as a memory from her old pack resurfaced, but she buried the thought and watched him come closer. She felt her muscles tense then quickly relax as she tried hard not to look defensive. Her ears shot up straight as she listened to his voice. She nodded politly in return before replying, "I'm Phir and the young one is Suyuri." she paused to look him over, tilting her head slightly at his curious look. "You are fine. There's nothing to intrude on. If you wish, you can sit and stay while~" When she was finished talking, she looked at Ramurtha intently as she commented, "Nice raven. Haven't seen one around these parts in quite some time now." Her tail flicked Suyuri lightly as the pup hesitantly inched forward to get a better view of Vantari and to sniff the air around him.

"I'll take you up on that offer, Phir," He nodded politely, his dark eyes landing on the younger one. "Suyuri." He chuckled softly, watching her slowly move closer and sniff him. He will admit, he probably smelt odd. He had foreign scents on him, showing he had traveled a plenty. He heard the comment on Ramurtha and he was about to say something but a rambunctious call was let forth and Vantari winced, it sound right next to his sensitive ear. Ramurtha puffed out his chest, preened through his feathers and did another call once more. Vantari growled and snapped near the bird, which caused a ruckus while Ramurtha bolted off his shoulder.

You're just jealous that she complimented me!

Ramurtha laughed in Vantari's head and Vantari rolled his eyes as he growled and then looked back at the two females. He gave them a toothy grin, "Sorry about that, he gets rather vain about himself." Vantari chuckled softly, "And yes, thank you on behalf of Ramurtha. We come from far away, if you could not tell," He nodded, and then sat down, getting comfy. And then he watched the two femme.

Caesar was passing by. His feet were bleeding so he left bloody footprints. His head was down but his muscles were tense and alert.

Demitri sniffed the pups and smiled. He licked his mate and licked his new borns gently. He stepped back to look at his family and he ears went alert and he turned to stick his nose out of their dug den and stepped out when he scented blood. "Stay here" He growled and he padded out into the open and towards the scent. He spotted Caesar and howled out to him.

Caesar stopped and looked at him. He put his tail between his legs but didn't move. He wasn't sure what to do.
