You probably overcooked it. Noodles only need 7 minutes to cook.

I for sure did. I tend to start cooking things...and then forget about them.

Don't feel too bad about failing at making noodles. I fail almost every time I make real white rice. I follow the directions exactly..but most of the time, the rice never gets fully cooked and I have no idea why. One issue I have is, when I'm making it for other people and not just myself..that's when it seems to f'up the most. eek

I use a pot on the stove. A rice cooker would be nice, but I can't afford it at the moment.

That usually works fine for me. As long as you put a lid over it and watch carefully to make sure it doesn't burn it should be fine.
