All of my friends have difficulty finding jobs, but when I wanted to leave my job I found a new job and quit the old one. It took about a week of searching.
One of my friends tried to say I found jobs easier because I'm Hispanic. Nope. It's probably because I get straight A's in school and have more availability than most people. I'm polite and easy to get along with (aka customer service skills). Also, I've never been fired or even written up at any job I've ever had.
There are always underlying reasons.

favoritism for minorites (for example affirmative action) does exist often in the job market, with scholarships, with a lot of things, but that's not all the time and it shouldn't be used as a scapegoat to blame for why you don't get something.

I was the hiring manager at my old job, and I turned people down for many, many reasons. I never cared about their race or gender, or even their age. I once hired a 16 year old with zero job experience over a 20-something year old with previous restaurant experience. It's a case by case basis. I can tell when someone is truly personable and when they are faking kindness to get on my good side. I can't speak for the people who have interviewed you.

shea the anti-venom okay, luno, come to fl,see how easily" you get a job.then you can say who is right and who is wrong here, till then, your opinion on the matter is bullshit. Why would I come to florida, its hard enough to get a job here, Im not saying its easy, Im just saying that some things you said sounded rascist and were incorrect. You need to learn the difference between talking s**t and constructive criticism you little drama-whore. Thats all the more Im saying on the matter. talk2hand dramallama

I'm not quite at 3 yet..but as far as quests go right now I still have to defeat the OMGWTF thing (which I almost did on my own but I wasn't able to heal myself fast enough), and then I started some stuff in Zen Gardens but I can't do much there because the monsters get like...two hits and I'm almost dead. sweatdrop
I find myself right now, wanting to play ZOMG more than wanting to watch Doctor Who. Sad.. Though, maybe I can do one episode and then play ZOMG for however many hours again. Haha.

*sigh*
I wish you'd stop fighting/bitching over this. I don't like how things have turned in this thread lately, and I think maybe people are avoiding it for that reason.
Shea, I know you're really pissed about the job thing. I probably would be too. However, just because you have more experience doesn't make you more qualified for the job (same goes for people that have been passed up for a promotion or management position that have been with the company longer than someone else..just because you're there longer doesn't mean s**t depending on your work ethic, etc). Some employers actually look for people with less experience, while others don't. It really depends on the position and how the person being interviewed acts and answers questions.
So needless to say, please stop bitching and get over it. So you didn't get the job, so what? Try again. There's lots of people out there that keep trying, so instead of feeling pissed off/sorry for yourself, do something about it. Stop assuming you're s**t, because you're not. That'll only bring you down even more when job hunting..trust me, I've been there.
