I wouldn't count that as canon either way. Two-Face was one of Batman's villains. He's gotta have his little rivalry against Rupert Thorne and all that.

movies tend to be independent this medium.

remember Nicholson? his joker died from falling off a building. Poison ivy crushed, penguin... put to a water burial, catwoman fried (though she supposes another one), TLJ's twoface is impaled, riddler's insane beyond insane...

The batman movies are different from the animated series.

He was in the series, had an obsession with eggs, and claimed to be the most brilliant criminal ever or something.

What happened to the Mad Hatter? kind of dead end interim people that really don't drive much story.

No, even though he kidnapped her, he was sent to arkham several times. I think he got trapped in his own dream machine last i recall, but tha'ts a long stretch.
