I wouldnt be adverse to making you the commander of your own Fighter wing. The downside would be you'd primarrily use the Aurek class Fighter. All engines, no hyperdrive or missles. Though I could cobble together a hyperdrive capable fighter...You and your group would have the honor of being one of the first Hyperdrive equipped republic Fighter squadrons. Edit: even better, you guys could be something akin to wraith squadron.

Nelowulf So its dependent upon a carrier? Yeah. Thats why I was willing to offer another ship. Or if you prefer, You can have one of my Hammer heads. They can fit a squadron of Aureks, and properly outfited it would do well as a mobile command ship.

I don't want a command though. Maybe a personal squadron of other Jedi Aces, but he mostly works solo, going to reinforce specific fronts.

You're a Jedi. you have to command something. Especially in this era.

I refuse a permanent command. That doesn't mean he can't assume it, but he's just a knight. Not even had an apprentice yet...

Fine. Starfighter command. But at age 26 you're an old man for a fighter pilot.

Takes a couple years to become an ace, too. He didn't start flying until nearly 18.

You're also a Jedi. That means you're far better than most pilots. I dont have many jedi in my ranks so your squadron will be composed of NFU's flying Aureks equipped like yours.

Maybe not quite like mine.... But eh. I might get a hammerhead with a custome exterior rack so i can have "fly-by-exchange" things.... kind of like how in vandread the little bastards could rearm right in the thick of battle.

That was cool, but I also think they had tenders go out into battle to equip ships as well.
But what I meant was they would have hyperdrives and hardpoints like yours. Your personal fighter will be higher spec of course.

I'll just modify that hammerhead. Yes, they had tenders, but you could achieve similar results with external exchange racks. All you'd really need is a pair of rails and manipulator arms to detach the first pod and attach the next one. Shouldn't be too expensive or hard to modify, seeing as how the pilots are pretty well trained.

Your command. your call. Though the Hammerhead wont have much of a role outside of being a mobile Starcraft hanger.
