Emilia's eyebrow rose at Kageko's present. She sent it back to the young woman with a smirk. "Thanks kid but that would not increase my energy." she approached her horse from Kageko and bent towards the younger member of the Unit, her face almost touching the child's. Her smirk revealing fangs. "However if you volunteered..." Her eyes were fixed upon the young flesh. Then with a dark chuckle she backed up and kicked her horse, shaking her head.

Louis's eyes widened at the touch of Angeles. What was she doing?! He was in no situation to argue though and helped Angeles settle him on her horse.

As the female vampire hushed her horse forward, Louis almost dismounted. Luckily for him Angeles's strong hold kept him in place. The wounded vampire was stunned when the woman pulled his wrist forward, pressing him to wrap himself around her. That made sense, yet he was sort of...embarrassed.
Without a word, he clenched his arms around her, pressing himself slightly around her. He closed his eyes. Under other circumstances...he sighed.

"Thank you..." he whispered at Angeles's ear. The ride was surprisingly painless.

Emilia smirked at the sight of Louis on Angeles's back, it reminded her of the ride she had shared with the ranger...a nice ride after all. She remembered the night they shared and shook her head. That night was probably the reason why her family was helping the humans. She frowned, anger raising in her once again. Her face became serious again as she concentrated to remain on her horse and keep at high speed.

"Don't thank me yet," she said calmly. The speed they were moving at was beginning to put her mind at ease. Horses and wolves could move at about the same speed, meaning they could at least keep the distance that they had between the two groups until they reached the mansion.

Angeles, after keeping sure that the surroundings were safe, let her mind wander. This was the closest her and Louis had been since they met. Her hand held onto his, resisting the urge to stroke the skin with her thumb. Finally she let go and gripped the reigns of the horse tightly in both hands.

He needs to wake up first, Angeles, she said to remind herself, he needs to realize....

Louis remained silent. She was right, still he owed her. She was so strong. Frustration was creeping in his mind, why his back was so painful. He had been wounded before, deeper than that, he had bled almost to death and that had not been so painful. He tried to remember the attack, the trap which led several members of the Unit to their graves. The holy water which had exploded. He had been burned before, why was it that after a full night of rest, he was still in agony?!

He felt the hand of Angeles leave his and although her hand was as icy as his, he felt a chill of cold and she moved away.

The vampire reopened his eyes to close them quickly. His vision was bluried and that feeling... What the... he cursed. The man had not noticed that the sun had disappeared. Although his powers were coming back he still felt weak. The nausea crept in him. Not now... he cursed again.
But he knew that his power was also a curse against which he did not have any control. Soon his mind was gone from his body clenched against Angeles's, wandering in the endless possibilities of the future.

Kageko continued to ride with the group as she kept a constant watch on the energies of their pursuers. As the sun set, she prepared for the worst. With one hand, she kept the horse on a steady track while her other hand crept over to her side and stayed close to the vials of the sleeping gas she had obtained before. Should they somehow be caught unawares, she would be prepared.

Angeles looked to the side as the sun began setting and cursed under her breath. They weren't even close to the Valentine manor. Cursing under her breath she shrugged her shoulder to get Louis' attention, "hey," she said, "get ready."

Leon looked up at that, then over, then behind. He gripped his horse with his knees and pulled his bow from his back and stringing it. He put his hands back on the reigns and concentration entered his eyes though his expression did not change.

Emilia was fighting the need to jump down her horse and transform, she could be faster and keener that way. However if only her brother and cousin were behind them, their group would not need to find much. What was worrying the wolf was the potential presence of her father, the white wolf would be more than harder to kill and frankly Emilia did not want to live the day when she would end up the life of her own father. The male wolf had many flaws but she had always respected him.

She growled as they all tensed up. "If it's only my brother and cousin, that should not be a problem. My cousin is an idiot. My brother is not, but he is no match for us." she paused.

Then grunted. "However if they are more and them or if my father is with them...then...then we will have fun." she chuckled darkly.

Her gaze halted for a second on the ranger, then on the kid, finally on the vampires. So she was about to betray her pack, her family, her race for those people? She clenched her fist on the rein, she was a member of the Unit, dismantled or not...

Louis was unaware of Angeles's move. He could not feel, could not hear, could not see... He was far away from the woods, far away from the group rushing to avoid the confrontation.

It is dark, the middle of the night and one of the horses trips casting off its rider. This is when they attacked. Three, no four, five...many more than they had hoped. A scream. The scent of blood.

The vision blurred, replaced by another.

A vampire, a stranger, stands in the middle of the path. He is welcoming them. Louis cannot see who is with him...is he even there?

"Louis," growled Angeles, looking over her shoulder after the man did not respond and merely stayed still, clutching to her body, "Louis!" she yelled to get his attention, turning in the saddle and taking his head into one hand to get his eyes to hers, "I need you in this time right now!"

Kage's horse suddenly screamed and buckled, her leg stuck in an abandoned gopher hole. There was a snap as the horse flipped, sending Kage flying. Leon pulled on his reigns, forced to stop before the mass of horse flesh as the poor beast thrashed around to try to stand. It's leg was broken, it would not live through the night.

Her eyes then flickered over Louis' shoulder to movement and growled. With a swift movement Angeles tied Louis to the saddle and jumped over her. One of the werewolves latched onto the back leg of Leon's horse and the hunter leapt off and turned, bow in hand, an arrow already flying to the wolf.

Angeles landed on the ground no longer in her human form but that of a beat, a white wolf, not unlike the ones come to slay them or worse. She let out a deep snarl and bore her teeth, her eyes in their sockets turning dark crimson before she lunged for one of the wolves' throats. She was not concerned about the relationship these beasts had with Emilia, Angeles would apologize later.

Emilia's nostrils caught the scent too late. How could they have made it so close so fast?! She literally threw herself down her mare when a bushy brown wolf jumped at her. She stared at the wolf and chuckled darkly. Her skin slowly starting to shift. Her muscles grew tearing apart her clothing. She jabbed her bigger swords in the ground and grabbed the smaller ones in her human hands. She had an advantage over many werewolves: she had imposable tums, and not one, but two sets of them, which meant that even in her beast form she was able to use her weapons.

The bushy brown wolf did not lose time, although it had missed the female by an inch, it attacked again.

"Still no brain, cousin..." hissed the woman now pitch black but still with only one pair of arms.
"You see to kill you I don't even need to turn fully."
A roar answered and it charged.

From the fogs of his visions, Louis heard a voice, her voice, the voice he cherished more than he'd care to admit. Yet he was unable to break loos from the prediction.

A giant white wolf jumped in the group, rolling with Emilia down the hill....

Blood!

The scent was real, not a vision and the vampire at last popped out of the vision, nausea on his lips and dizzy still by his power and the pain on his back.
A curse passed his lips as a wolf pounced towards him.

Leon' landed on the ground as his arrow missed the wolf and charged Emilia. Leon rested his gaze on the werewolf for only a moment before drawing another arrow and firing into the crowd. There were more than the two he was expecting, they were outnumbered.

Angeles' white wolf form flew over Louis and bit down onto the back of the other werewolf's neck, throwing them both to the ground where the wrestled before splitting off. Angeles bore her teeth red with the fresh blood of the wolves but it pleased her none, only rage was felt within her chest. This was a fight for survival, nothing more, but Angeles felt anger at the beasts who had chosen to ally with a king who would most likely kill them when their task was finished. Why?

Angeles ducked her head under the wolf's bite and lifted up, her teeth sinking into his throat and biting down mercilessly. The almost bitter blood was flowing down her throat, making her feel somewhat ill but she paid it no mind.

Louis rolled to the side in a growl and stood up unable not to look at Angeles who just saved his life. His sword was still attached at the saddle but he did not bother. The vampire grabbed his dagger, close combat had always been his forte.
As Angeles was sinking her teeth in the wolf, a grey female targeted her. As she pounced, Louis slide down, squatting under the animal, his dagger slicing the tender skin on the female's stomach, pouring the beast's insides on the dirt ground.
Louis stood back up, trying to forget the pain. His eyes analyzing the situation, he went for the agonizing animal and slicing the animal's throat with his blade, he forced himself to drink the blood of the beast, trying to ease his pain.

Emilia was smirking widely when her cousin changed course. She cursed and went after him. The wolf's target made no doubt to her: Leon, the human for what he had dared doing to Emilia.
"Watch out!" She shouted.
Luckily for the ranger, the wolf had charged without fully adjusting his course. As a result, his claws gashed slightly the man's leg but the wolf was unable to grab the human as he had hoped to.
Emilia jumped above Leon, landing on her cousin's back.

Angeles felt blood on her back and looked over at the newly killed wolf. She bit down and with a crunch the wolf she had been fighting stopped moving. Dropping the creature Angeles looked over as a warning was called and saw Leon's blood pour from his leg. Her eyes glowed crimson with the thirst but she fought it down.

The ranger grunted in pain and fell to the ground, favoring the leg before quickly removing himself from the main part of the battle. Without a second to spare Leon tore his pantleg off and into shreds and bandaged the wound as quickly as he could.

Angeles then looked over to Louis who was drinking the blood of one of the beasts. Whether it was to drown the scent of Leon's blood or not she was not sure but the white wolf moved over to him and stood as if to guard. He was still injured after all, a bald patch of fur on her shoulder revealing a very similar wound.

Emilia's cousin snarled as she landed on his back. He turned, fangs bared, and got a mouthful of fur from her arm, missing flesh entirely.

Louis titled back his head, blood dripping from the corner of his lips. He emitted a strange loud noise. He hated the taste of that blood, especially when the scent of his friend's blood had filled the air. Still, he could fell some of his strength coming back. He noticed Angeles at his side, in wolf's form. Unconsciously the vampire's fingers drifted on the damaged shoulder of the female vampire.
"You are so strong Angeles..." he whispered as his eyes took an worrying glow. The female wolf which stomach was sliced open by the silver blade and drained from its blood by the male vampire was now agonizing.
"Two less..." he hissed.

Emilia's hand which had not been her cousin's target moved forward, her sword slicing the wolf's face. She jolted backward and landed between Leon and the wolf. His scent was intoxicating. After the night they had shared, that scent was strangely and disturbingly arousing. She threw the ranger her water pouch.
"Clean that!" she ordered to him before he bandaged the wound. She did not want him to have in anyway his blood mixed up with her families, especially her cousin.

She could smell three more wolves close by and wondered why they were waiting. Luckily she could not smell her father, however she guessed that amongst the ones hidden in the shadow was her brother.

She re-concentrated on her cousin who was charging again. She did not move. Her blades at the ready, she would not hesitate. The wolf was in reach, she sliced but missed because of a black wolf similar to her which hit sideways her cousin to save him from a lethal blow.
"Doing babysitting, Karl?" she asked staring at her brother.

Angeles blinked and looked back at Louis. She could have said the same for him, for different reasons, but she could not speak in this form, so she said nothing. His shift from awed to worried to angry brought her back to her senses and she rose her hackles and bore her teeth in a growl to any who approached.

Leon caught the water and happily complied, running it over the wound and flushing it out before rapping it tightly with the rough cloth. He forced himself back to his feet and took up his bow again, leaning against the tree for support as he took aim.

Winston whimpered as the sword went through his flesh but missed his artery. Karl recovered from saving his cousin and turned to face Emilia. His face contorted into a snarl and he growled before shifting into a form he could be understood in.

"As much as you're gone to whoring yourself to humans," he growled.

"That's what this is about?" snarled Angeles instantly in her human form again and standing up with the deathwhisper ready. The other wolves seemed to stop at the confrontation of brother and sister and Angeles continued, "that is why you've gone and allied yourself to a human king who would rather use your pelts as rugs than reward you? Foolish beasts!" Angeles snarled pointing her sword at Karl, "ignorant animals! In the end you will die and know only regret for your choices!"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 28, 2010 1:32 pm
Emilia chuckled at Karl's comment.
"Still haven't swallowed that I refused your little protege..." she mused.
Karl had to put himself in front of Winston to prevent their cousin from committing suicide by attacking Emilia just like that.
"Good boy!" she snarled.

"They will have no regret Angeles, just death." her voice was icy and her eyes never left her brother's.
Her body had shifted slightly when she had heard Leon stood up.

The female wolf could not believe that her pack was allying with the humans just because of what had happened between her and Leon.

"Stay away from this vampire..." barked Karl.

Emilia played with her sword. She concentrated on thinking, orienting her thoughts towards Angeles, hoping she would read her mind.
Please Angeles, go with Louis and Leon. There are two wolves left but they won't attack, they'll track you, get rid off them. I need to finish this family business...

Louis was leaving the wolves quarrel alone, searching through the dark branches for the remaining of the pack. This discussion might as well be a trap, and he wanted to be ready.

Angeles lowered her sword, her pupils shifting slightly before turning, "Louis, get on the horse," she said in a tone without room for argument. She then walked over and lifted Leon, the ranger looked at her. She glared at him and he looked over at Emilia before pulling out of the vampire's grasp, at least trying to.

"Human," she growled under her breath in warning.

"Angeles," said Leon calmly, stopping as he looked at her. Slowly though she released his wrist and turned as the ranger leaned against the tree.

"Get on the horse," she said to Louis again, a hint of something under her voice. She got up onto Alexandria, gripping the reigns tightly in her hands, the leather straining in her grip as she glared at the wolves as if daring them to move.
