(temporary) star trek reboot (since gais's being weird)

When McCoy puled out the weird device Zepatos looked like he was about to have a heart attack. he visibly sagged in relief when he saw the alternate device.
"yeah....thanks Doctor." he said sarcastically, glaring at him. just wait, he'd get him back for that at some point.
He then pointed at teh device. "so it just...sticks on? like a sticker?"

"That's one way of putting it.....although a very strong sticker," McCoy replied putting it behind Zepatos's left ear. "There be be a slight tingling sensation at the chemical adhesive bonds with your skin...."

"Well-that's that," McCoy commented as Spock went to a comm device to inform Kirk.

Zepatos wiggled slightly at the somewhat unpleasant tingling, but it soon left. he then poked at the device.
"I feel like a cyborg now. or cattle." he commented.
"and just for my curiosity....what the hell do you actually use that monstrosity for?" he asked, pointing at the demonic-looking device.



Kirk nodded as he recieved Spock's message.
"Excellent. get him in his ship and patrolling."

"It's not that noticeable," McCoy replied. "As for what-"

"The captain wants you out patrolling immediately," Spock interrupted. "I will escort you back to your ship."

Jinx's ears twitched as she tried to understand the conversation.

Zepatos glared slightly at Spock, disliking being cut off mid conversation.
"ok,ok, i'm goin'. see you soon, Jinx - be good." he called to her with a wave.

he then walked back to his ship with Spock.
"you're not joining me for the journey, are you?" he asked, not sounding Thrilled by the idea of having him looking over his shoudler all the time.

Jinx purred sadly after Zepatos and then curled up on the bed. McCoy sighed. "Come on now....I patched you and can't be having you take this bed in case someone else needs it," he said to her. "Don't you have a room where you can....sulk?"

Jinx looked up with pouty lips. She purred sadly and snuggled up to McCoy for comfort. He rolled his eyes and patted her on the head. "There....there...." he said gently. "He said he would see you soon...now be a good kitty and go wait in your room for him."

"Someone take her to her room...." McCoy pleaded to one of the nurses.

"Unless the captain orders me to do so before you leave then no," Spock replied.

"Thanks Fate for that." Zepatos said with an exaggerated sigh and a smile.
When he reached his ship he climbed aboard and took up his seat. he fired up the computer and established a comm link with the two main ships again.

"Capitan, Commodore, this is Zepatos and I'm back in action can you both read me?" He hailed.

"Reading you loud and clear." Kirk said. "Is Spock with you?"

"Yeah." he said a little grudingly.

Kirk paused for thought. Zepatos wasn't trained for Starfleet, and didn't have a particularly level head - his escape attempts proved that. perhaps Spock should stay with him. though he would miss Spock on the bridge, they did have the open comm link.

"Spock, maybe you should go with him. We'll need soemone with starfleet traning aboard."
he eventually said to the vulcan. he heard Zepatos groan in the background.
Zepatos then fiddled around and managed to get a visual link up through his viewscreen, linking to the network of the three ships.

"Understood, captain," Spock replied as he stood behind Zepatos.

"I swear you guys are picking on me for fun."
Zepatos complained, easily sending his ship up into a stationary hover. There was little doubt he was a skilled pilot, especially when in this machine. Its movements felt like an extension of his own body.

"Ok Spock, take a seat." he sighed, gesturing to one of the seats pushed up agaisnt the wall of the tiny excuse for a 'bridge'.
"and don't touch anything." he added.

Once the airlock was open he guided the ship out on manual - as usual - and out into space, adjusting and checking over his controls and fuel consumption.
"ok, let's get rolling." he grinned, sending out his computer's illegal software to scan the Klingon ships again. the transmissions had gone silent...which was probably a bad thing.

"ok guys I'll extend my search and see if I can give you a warning sign of any bad guys."
he said to the captains on the other line, deciding that it was best to keep them informed since they didn't trust him properly yet.

"Setting my power away from warp capacity and onto shields and weapons, in case things get hairy. Not that i was planning to warp anyway - this old girl's not exactly gentle when she make the jump."

he grinned, fired up power and then blasted off with speed into space, intending to get some distance between him and the larger ships. he started to drive the ship with his knees while he rooted aroudn under the dashboard for more software - some of them requiring a usb plugin to work. When he found what he wanted he leant back on his chair and inserted it, still driving with his knees, and started pressing various buttons.

"ok, setting up warp detection software" he said, knowing it woudl probably puzzle starfleet as to its existance "
if this guy's coming we ought to get an advanced warning with this baby. How else did you think the Ferengi smugglers evade notice so well?" he grinned. "ah the advantages of a good hand in tongo..."

Zepatos was somewhat unashamedly proud of the little pieces of criminal bits and bobs he'd acquired in his travels, and this was a particularly useful one. He punched a few buttons and it set up the wide scan around the ship, detecting the tell-tale ripples in the molecular 'reality' around them that preceded a warp jump by exactly 12.4 seconds.


Kirk raised his eyebrows and kept his comments to himself. "just amke sure you warn us if you spot anything." he said

Spock nodded and took his seat. From there he observed the ship and how Zepatos worked....somewhat questionable but effective.

Back on the enterprise a nurse had returned Jinx to her room. She paced the room back and forth out of boredom before watching out the window at the stars.

"We should arrive at the coordinates in a matter of minutes," one of Nero's crewman replied.

Tanara's ship followed behind in warp.

Nero nodded.
"Charge weapons. I want the enterprise taken alive. Do what you will with the rest. have the cloaked Klingons open fire when we arrive."
he sat back in his chair and smiled thinly to himself. Soon he would have vengeance.

Zepatos swung his ship aroudn and continued scanning. Then his computer blared a warning. he looked down at the controls as they detected a warp signal - and it was huge.

"s**t...."
he alerted the ships via the comm.
"Guys! We got a huge warp signal - 9 seconds!"
he practically yelled,
"It's gonna come out behind the cloaked klingons!"

he swiftly pulled the ship around in a sharp backward loop to go behind. He'd long ago altered the gravity generator to be more focused towards the centre of the ship - from the amount of times he spent upside-down he'd discovered that standard gravity generators didn't cut it - it'd feel like you were upside down, and things would drop everywhere. Now things kept relatively consistent and rooted to the ground where they belonged.
He raced to put himself between the cloaked klingons and the other ships, readying his weapons.

"Spock, fi we get hit and any fires start you'll have to put 'em out, ok?" he called back to the Vulcan. "fire extinguisher's in the cupboard on your left. Decrompression foam underneath it."

Sure enough, within the 12.4 seconds of being sensed by the computer, Nero and his ships dropped out of warp and started to attack...

"Of course," Tanara replied over the comm.

As soon as Nero and the others were out of warp the Klingon ships that had remained silent dropped their cloaking and opened fire on the extra targets that aided the enterprise.

Spock had retrieved the necessary items as Zepatos had directed and prepared for immediate repairs.

Nero made a point of hanging back a little while the Klingons did their work. They were the grunts in this, and he intended to use them


"Open fire!" Kirk ordered, leaning forwards in his ship. "shields at maximum!"



Zepatos weaved in and out between the line sof fire as all hell broke loose between the groups of ships.
"Argh! Come get me Ridge-heads!" He called, giving a little excited battlecry and he went after the Klingon ships that strayed too close to either the enterprise or the Proctor'nul.
he span the ship into a barrelroll between two ships and then rose up to try and shoot the back engines of one of the Klingon war-birds. After a string of shots he laughed in victory as one of it's engines exploded and he swerved away form the explosion.
"Who's next?! Spock, get the heaters and oxygen down to survival levels and boost up our sheilds." he ordered.  

[Near Xephis]

"Keep my Shields stable Mr Monroe" Shern said as he staggered towards the conn. "Keep us in this evasive patter" he said toggling through several of the sequences. "Tactical you may fire at will"

Shern was loving it. He looked at the corner of the viewscreen and smiled to Kirk "Good Hunting"

"Dhontsss go wasting my weaponsssss Ssirs! Remember only use them on this Romulansss" Tallulah broadcast to the Captain and Commodore.

"same to you." Kirk said smiling and gripped onto his seat as the enterprise shook form a direct hit.
"damn it how many warbirds are there?!" he exclaimed, annoyed also by how Nero just seemed to drift there waiting like a vulture.
"status on the shields?" he barked

Zepatos swooped around to try and defend the less manoeuvrable ships again. As one blasted the enterprise he chased after it, firing a few shots that damaged it but didn't disable it, chasing it away before redoubling back to fire at an oncoming pair of ships heading for the Protor'nul.

"If any of you guys want to try take a shot at the massive ship I can try and clear a path for you." he said and then jerked forward with a cry as he was hit form the side. He winced and glanced over the controls. The shields were down by 13% already.
"these guys are starting to swarm here, you better make a decision quick."


"Fire at will, take the warbirds out!" Kirk ordered his crew. "Zepatos, don't play hero. If your shields take too much of a battering get back on board or get behind us."
