apparantly. read his journal if you'd like.

On a side note, writing this paper has led me to reread an article on the Sambia. Definately a great culture to study if you're into trying to overcome your own personal bias on life and sex.

I'm finding it harder to believe that DC even serves an actual purpose nowadays.

I've never understood why DC has been around since LBJ... If I wanted to really push it, I'd go back as far as FDR...

Yeah, presidents really have gone downhill since FDR...

Explain.
Because there were quite a few shitty presidents before FDR...

Yes, but pretty much all of them afterwards have been shitty. We've only had a few really good presidents, imo, and FDR was the last one so far.

FDR... good president if you like highways... bad president if you actually wanted to call him a 'legal' one. FDR was more like 'dictator' than president.

Then again, so was teddy. So it must be a roosevelt thing. Much like killing/getting killed is a kennedy thing.

While I don't disagree with your assessment of past presidents, it is being a tad bit unfair to them. FDR was one of the best, and nearly anyone compared next to im' is gonna look inferior.

Define 'best'. If by best you mean "warmongering, constantly breaking constitutional powers under 'war time powers' he granted himself," and so on, then yes. Maybe not as bad as Jefferson, in terms of presidents who are considered good despite constantly breaking the rules, but eh...

Personally, I'm still betting on Teddy and Taft on my knocks. Truman wasn't half bad either, cleaning up the mess that his predecessor made...

Warmongering? He kept us out of WWII for as long as possible, then Pearl Harbor happened and we were kind of forced into it. As far as "war time powers" even Abe Lincoln was guilty of going against constitutional rights during war time.

When Jefferson was president, the rules were still fresh enough that bending and pushing them was not just allowable but necessary to show what could and should be done in this new government.
