Harukoo leaned back and looked at him. "What are we going to do?" She asked him. "I can't talk to my father. He won't listen to me."

"i'll talk with him. We'll figure something out. I swear it."  

[elphy_and_fiyero]

Harukoo wiped her tears and nodded. She didn't want to lose him. She held onto him as if at any moment he would be gone forever.

The king smiled to himself as the queen walked in. "What is the meaning of this?" She asked her husband. "Just when Kyo and Harukoo were getting close enough for marriage you go ahead and promise her to another prince!" The king folded his arms.

"Don't worry, my dear. It is all in my master plan." He chuckled and leaned back in the chair.

He continued to stroke her hair.
"Just calm down for now, alright? I'll stay as long as you want."

Harukoo closed her eyes and tried to control herself from hyperventilating. She concentrated on his heart beating. The sound matched hers. They were meant to be together and if it was up to her, they would be together.

Prince Haden walked back in the room and bowed to the King and Queen. "Shall I go talk to her, your majesty?" He asked them. The King smiled and nodded. "Very well." He bowed once more and went off to find the Princess. The Queen folded her arms and shook her head.

"You couldn't just talk to Prince Kyo?" She asked. "What would his father think after this?"

Princess Haden began to ask around until he was pointed in the right direction. "Princess?" He asked. Harukoo didn't say anything as she froze in place. Haden knelt in front of her. He gave Kyo a smile and a nod. He turned back to Harukoo. "I know you may not like this arranged marriage but I'll do whatever I can to make you happy and to make our marriage work." He looked back at Kyo. "Forgive me. I'm Prince Haden from the Ruby Kingdom. Are you her brother?"

"I am Prince Kyo of the Pearl Kingdom. And I will be speaking with the King once I'm sure Harukoo is safe. I'm afraid I cannot allow her to take part in this arranged marriage."  

[elphy_and_fiyero]

Prince Haden kept a straight face and nodded. "Very well. Good luck talking with the king then." He walked off and Harukoo sat back and sighed.

"He can't make me do it. I won't do. I just can't." She sniffed as she was calming down. "I'm going to go to my room. Talk to father. Hopefully you can knock some sense into him." She lightly kissed Kyo and walked to her room. Harukoo sat on her bed and waited for Kyo to come back.

He took a moment to collect himself then went to find the king.

The king waited in the dinning room, as he expected Kyo to come and find him. It was all apart of his plan to finally get them together.

"Your Majesty, may I have a moment of your time?" He asked calmly.  

[elphy_and_fiyero]

The king looked up at Kyo and nodded. "Of course Prince Kyo. Have a seat." He gestured towards the seat across from him.

"I'd like to talk to you about the arranged marriage you've set up for Harukoo."  

[elphy_and_fiyero]

The king nodded. "Yes, well, I thought that an arranged marriage would be suitable for her because she needs to be together. I told Harukoo that she must be wed before next birthday or I will set a marriage up for her. Her birthday is just a few months away. I can't wait forever."

"have you talked to her? How do you know she hasn't picked someone? A few months is a long time."

The king shook his head. "You know well as much as I that a princess cannot chose her husband. Besides, a proposal has been made by Prince Haden." The king paused as he looked at Kyo. "Unless you know of a better match."
