Suddenly, Yondaime poofed into existence before their very eyes. "But we do expect you to sing," he said.

Gai's sobs reached the roof. His nose was runny.

The snot flodded Konoha, forcing the residenes to higher ground.

And then Yondaime sacrificed himself to rid the world of Gai!snot.

And so the world wept for beloved Yondaime.

Way over in the Sand Village, Gaara was playing shogi with Shikamaru, who had recently recovered from being punched, kicked, spat on, and numerous other things. Gaara was losing badly and trying to cheat using his sand, but Shikamaru never blinked once. Gaara was scared, because if he lost the match he'd have to do what he was dared to to.

Which was to ask Naruto out to a movie. As more than friends.

Gaara tried to stand, reluctantly admitting his defeat, ready to put on an angry face to Naruto at the movies, but Shikamaru grabbed his sleeve tightly. He growled a little and that was all he had to say for Gaara to sit back down. Gaara couldn't believe it; threatened by this... kid... He plotted Shikamaru a nice, bloody, violent demise. heart

Unfortunately for Shikamaru, Gaara liked making his dreams sweet reality.

The plot involved roasting Shikamaru's liver,

and feeding it to him. Gaara's grin of anticipation drilled a hole in Shikamaru's forehead. He did not blink. His malicious grin grew ear to ear. Shikamaru glanced up at him and suddenly felt awkward.

But that awkwardness then subsided and Shikamaru let out a "Checkmate or whatever you say in shogi" and it was apparent that Shika won.

His victory was short lived, however, when he found his lungs to be filled with sand.
