Well, its still easily stronger than them anyway, pending you got the right weapons. so it's irrelevant.

Hell, almsot everything was stronger than a lancer. It was quite the laughingstock of the day...

Most Imperial stuff was at some level, except for the big guns.

I mean, ISDs were getting bogged down by corvettes, a lone fighter blew up the Death Star, X-Wings flew circles around TIEs. For the most part, the Rebs had the better tech, even if in much smaller numbers

The lancer was slow, and couldn't even catch the targets it was intended for.

And TIEs were so much cheaper to produce... plus imperial doctrine never let it live anyway.

Wait a minute... Forty Hardpoints? I thought you were designing a Corellian Corvette replacement, most of them only had six hardpoints standard, not forty. Forty hardpoints is more in line with a frigate then a corvette. I think a more realistic armament would be ten class-9 Turbolasers and a Concussion Missile Turret.

Thats more in line with an evolution of a Corvette.

Why am I not surprised you're the only one that complains. It's not like its a vessel just for me.

The 40 hard-points cover EVERYTHING. Shields, engines, Point-Defense, lasers, missles, tractor beam, you name it.

All the number means is you can fit a maximum of that on there. The ship's designed to be able to fight Gladiuses and such, so of course it has similar power.

What was in mind though, was multi-purpose. Ya, can it have a butt-load of guns. It can also have none at all.

A naked one of these runs into ANY ship, and its dead meat just about. Fully armed, however, is another story.

And besides, it's more like an upgrade. The model itself is aimed at attracted a wide customer front, selling units and supplies, and maintaining fan-faith. This ship does all of the above and beyond.

Isn't the Gladius a Star Frigate though? This is supposed to be a (Albeit heavy) corvette...it should be able to give a Frigate a piece of its mind, but in a square fight between the two the Frigate should beat it soundly...But you do have a point. One of these could very likely be modified to take on a Gladius and win, but it sort of defeats the purpose of the ship...

Your talking about a corvette that can take on a customs frigate mono on mono... That simply doesn't happen. Stop and think man, a battle frigate has about as many guns standard as your military modification, hell your ship has more then most frigates.

It has about the same offensive firepower as a Carrack Cruiser, a ship that is roughly twice its size.

No, it doesnt

The ship is designed for multi-purpose. If the ship is planning on going against frigates, it'll arm itself appropriately. Otherwise, it won't.

That's both the downside and upside; it's amazingly versatile, but it can't be ready for every situation.

Example: a CR 120 armed with all QuadLaser Canons and Point-Defense is devastating against fighters and bombers, but s**t on anything bigger.

CounterExample: a CR 120 armed with Mass-Drivers and Turbolasers can't keep up with the speed of fighters and other corvettes.

It's a win-lose situation. Deployed correctly, these are awesome. Used wrong, and they're death-traps.
