Louis growled for whatever he said, Leon was already gone flying with the wind towards the werewolves lair. He clenched his fists. They had ridden all day, they were all tired and wounded, resting was what they needed, not fighting again. He wish his wounds would heal at once.

"We need to rest for a while, then we will go after th-" his voice was a sigh, with a trace of sadness and annoyance, yet he stopped at once. The scent was very faint yet his fangs ached.
He stared at the wolf who changed, ready to attack the beast if it were to make one single move away from the group.

Slowly the scent of Leon's blood disappeared as the ranger moved away from them, deeper in the mountains. But now they all knew where to go.

--

Emilia was trying to understand what was going on when it hit hurt. Sweet, bitter, enticing...so close...she recognized the scent immediately.

One by one the wolves around her turned into their primal forms. She resisted the urge. She needed to be led by her mind not by her body, she could not succumbed.
A memory of the night she shared with the human hit her.
"No..." she growled as she felt her body heating up, her muscles developing, her hair growing.

Why did the ranger have to come? Where the others there too? She had no idea, her sense of smell overwhelmed by the metallic scent.

"Damn it human..." she grunted.

Some of the wolves were laughing, some were looking at her puzzled, her father was not. His face was angry and bitter, he pushed her forward, deeper in the caves.

Behind her she heard rocks rolling, soon the trap was sealed and it was impossible to enter. The scent fainted slightly, yet she knew he was here.
Stupid man... she thought. What did he think he could do against the full clan?

The female wolf felt something strange in her head, as if someone was trying to...Angeles... She was not sure that the vampire was indeed reading her mind (she hoped she had not seen the part where Leon and her were...naked...) for the vampire could read but not communicate, yet she tried to think carefully. Do not attack yet...they won't do anything to me now...wait for dawn and use the other entrance... she mentally thought the mountains, showing recognizable places and leading the vampire through a labyrinth of ups and downs and secret passages through the mountains. It would take them hours to go through for their speed, strength and abilities would be useless, yet that was the best way.

A huge wolf appeared at the woman side and she thought quickly. Call back Leon... then it went blank.

--

Miles away, in the heart of the City, the Human King was having a secret meeting with the most distinguished members of the Blessed.

Vincent was there, all bathed in righteousness, despite his burning defeat against Angeles and her allies.
The meeting was about to start, they were waiting on a couple of younger members of the Blessed who had been summoned too, due to their impressive abilities or amazing victories.

Amongst the new comers was the young Mira whom Vincent had never met, yet he had heard of the young woman who was almost as gifted with fire as he was. He was curious to meet her.

Angeles stopped, not moving simply in case the connection was broken. With Emilia's last thoughts before her mind went blank Angeles kicked her horse and ran after Leon. She was catching up to him and soon reached down and scooped the ranger up and onto her horse, growling at him to keep quiet and not move. His blood was tantalizing enough.

She turned the horse and kept a hard grip on his arm until they rejoined the group. She merely looked at the others before turning and kicking her horse, moving back to the path they had started on, towards the Valentine manor.

Louis was wide eyes when Angeles took off without a word. His eyes darkened then and he was about to run after her when he noticed that the scent of blood was coming closer to him.

He blinked and sighed as the female vampire came back with Leon, bleeding against her. He swallowed hard, repressed his impulses. He had to look away.

Silently he motioned his horse deeper in vampire territory, keeping an eye on the wolf who had turned at the smell of blood and at any vampire who were not Angeles.

It was not because the white hair female vampire was the head of the House that they were 100% safe in Valentine territory.

Mira was expected to show herself so she procedded to join up with the rest of the blessed. Her weapons were proudly displayed so she was always ready for something bad to happen. Mira loved being a blessed for one reason only, the destruction of the unreal, it made her feel extreme pride, but she loved it all the same. Keep in mind, you're still not on even ground with anything kind of monster... She thought to herself, appearing before Vincent and the human king. Though since she found herself standing against surperior powers, she found it only right to bow. She said nothing, but she was interested to see what was going to happen next. Her shadowed eyes gleamed with excitement, but her face maintained a look of composure that every blessed needed sometime or another.

Angeles saw the manor come into view, with Jonathan and several others. She stopped her horse and pulled her coat off. She put it around the ranger, hissing warnings as her scent helped to cover his and the scent of his blood before she pushed Alexandria closer to the place. The other vampires bowed, some reluctantly, Jonathan did not. She dismounted and walked past without so much as a glance at them. When she was in the middle of the foyer she yelled, "the humans are not to be touched, the werewolves are not to be harmed!"

Afterward she pushed Leon to a room and pushed him in growling, "get cleaned up," she shut the door with a sigh and looked down at herself, covered in his blood, but with him in his own room, she was beginning to feel better, and she could finally talk to Louis.

Louis followed Angeles with a word. Despite his wounds, he sat straight, his eyes scanning all the new faces. Some who bowed to Angeles opened surprised eyes at his sight and bowed a second time. Others frowned. He could not care less.

He gave Angeles some leeway but never lost sight of her, nor of Kageko and Namsu. He needed to be careful with not leaving the young human and the wolf alone, as for Leon, he knew how to defend himself and right now, he needed to bandage those stinking wounds.

As Angeles closed the door, Louis was half way through the stairs, looking up at her. Covered in human blood she looked strangely...enticing. He clenched his jaws and met the female vampire's gaze.

-----

Vincent turned as the young woman entered and bowed. He liked that. She might be strong and everything yet she knew whom she owed respect to.

This was the first time the Human King was addressing so many Blessed at the same time, the first time he was almost openly admitting his plans for destroying the fragile peace which had spread when Queen Charlotte was still alive.

The Blessed listened.

Vincent was still wounded by his defeat but his eyes widened in pure hatred and anger when he heard that although several members of the former unit had been killed, three of them still remained alive with the help of the civilians.

"The vampire Louis and the werewolf Emilia should be killed without hesitation. They have been member of the Unit for far too long. The vampire Angeles has helped them many times, she should be killed too." he paused.

Burned fury rose in Vincent's eyes when the name of Angeles Valentine was mentioned. That vampire.

"As for the humans...Kageko is a child, but beware, she is dangerous too. Her capture is required, we might make her one of us. However if worse comes to worse, killing her is acceptable." Another pause.

"Leon should NOT be killed." Eyes filled with surprised in the assistance. "You can harm him, but I have questions for him before he shall meet his fate."
The King remembered far too well seeing the ranger disappear from the Queen Charlotte's apartments barely days before her death. He wanted to know.

"Those FIVE should become your priority." concluded the King.

Vincent rubbed his chin. He did not care about the humans. Even the former Unit members barely interested him, only Angeles counted. He would be the one ending the days of this damned creature. Without noticing he was looking in the direction of Mira, a malefic smile upon his lips.

Mira payed strict attention to the king's words, it seemed like this was going to, for the most part, be search and destroy. Mira looked toward Vincent briefly, it seemed like he was also enthusiastic. "Do you require my services?" Mira asked, taking note of his smile, she wanted to know what he was thinking. What could that smile possibly mean, it was keeping her on edge, but she did not ask openly. Instead a look of calm confusion crossed her face, seeming to convey her question. Mira's face quickly reverted back to it's original no nonsense look. In her mind, Mira was memorizing those names, it seemed that their force was small, but they had power if they'd yet to be captured. Mira doubted they could do this without her help anyway, a smirk crossed her features, she was much too proud to admit anything about the subject and just let her mind think what it wanted about the enemies strengths. She still awaited to hear from Vincent though, he must have had something on his mind.

Angeles looked at Louis before closing her eyes and sighing, letting herself calm down before she opened her eyes, "Emilia thinks she's safe for now. But I don't know how correct she is since her thoughts cut out right after that," she sighed and shook her head. She looked down at herself and sighed, I'll get cleaned up. Let someone know you need blood, they'll provide."

She moved back up the stairs to the master bedroom. Jonathan's things were inside, she'd have to throw them out later. She stripped her clothes, leaving them in a trail to the bathroom. It was huge, she hated it. With a sigh she dipped into the large pool of water. Blood already began to wash off her skin and gave the water a pink hue.

Namsu followed along with the group, although his form had still not worn off. The blood would take a long while to disappear from his mind, and thus followed the form's effects. It wasn't like it turned on his instincts to tear into anything or bite flesh out of people, but the unconscious fighter mindset that readied him during battle took over when the scent was around.

When they entered the building, the wolf looked around sheepishly.

"No one's going to be too put off by my form, are they? I can't really control such things and I've put off people before..."

But they entered nonetheless, following after Angeles.

"Excuse me, sir, but where exactly is--"

Before he could finish, Louis had followed Angeles up the stairs. Namsu's ears flattened.

"Guh. Left alone again."

He dropped where he was, sitting on the floor.

What is this place anyway...?

Louis listened to Angeles, his eyes darkening slightly at the news. He did not like that. Emilia might be a strong warrior, but she was also too proud for a wolf. He sighed then headed back downstairs.

His eyes met the form of the male wolf, in wolf form, yet he did not look...dangerous, rather tired and a little lost.

"Come with me traveler." he said with a cold yet polite voice. "You too Kageko."

He led them to a room with a wide table. A servant gazed at them with puzzled eyes: a pure blood with a wolf and a human?!

"We need blood, flesh and some human food." he announced. The servant hesitated a second before disappearing.

Louis took a seat, paying attention not to lean against the back of the chair.

"We are at the Valentine Estate, Angeles is the head of the Family." he explained, trying to think about something else than his thirst or his fatigue.

------------

Vincent looked up and down at the girl who just talked to him.
"I guess." his voice was deep.

"Follow me Kid." he added and without another word or an answer to her silent question, he left the room.
He was walking quickly.

As they left the meeting place, it was pitch black. The night had surrounded the country and Vincent seemed delighted to be outside under the reign of the inhuman creatures.

Kageko, who had remained silent for the entire time after her response to Emilia's kidnapping, followed behind Louis equally quietly. It would have been a lie for her to say that she didn't feel at least slightly threatened. It was obvious from the reactions of the vampires around her that many of them weren't of the type that wished to co-exist with humans or even thought of such a thing as even possible. However, she did her best to keep her face calm, hiding most of the lower half behind the collar of her coat. As Louis sat, she only allowed herself to lean slightly on a chair. She was tired, but fear was a great motivator. It was the night, the time when she was at her most vulnerable. Besides, didn't Angeles warn the group to constantly keep their guard up when in the Valentine manor?

"Hmm? Oh, yes, of course."

Namsu followed Louis into the long room, marvelling in his mind at the size, though it did not show on his furred face. Such places made him naturally want to be quiet, as if shouting were going to break something. The wolf took his seat, tucking his tail a bit to avoid damage. when Louis mentioned the menu to the servant, he tried to call afterwards.

"Ah, and also-- vegetables."

But the servant was gone, fetching the meals. Namsu shook his large snout, but looked to Louis when he spoke.

"The Valentine Estate, hm?"

The wolf looked about, finally understanding the various paintings and sculptures.

"Right, well."

Namsu sat at his seat trying to find something else to help the conversation along.

"Well, em... right."

Ah forget it, say the first thing that comes to your mind.

"So Angeles is fine?"

Well, that was the third thing, not so bad.

Mira still had her questions, but followed Vincent anyway. Assoon as they walked outside, Mira went on her guard, placing her hand on the hilt of her rapier unknowingly. She constantly looked around as if she were being watched, which was no the case. In the dark, she just had to be more careful than usual. It wasn't because it was night that the girl became cautious, but because it was totally black out, like a piece of ebony. She kept a straight face and a serious attitude though, her smirk disappeared. Her prideful nature would not let her be seen in this light so she grip the hilt of the blade tightly. She only did so because she did not want to be seen having a habit such as getting scared when it's too dark.

Louis would have burst laughing at the werewolf's request if the vampire was not of a calm nature. Instead a slight smirk raised at the corner of his lips.
"Vegetables? Interesting."

The man looked around trying to relax, but he could not.

While Kageko remained silent as her habit, it seemed that Namsu wanted to talk.
"I think so. She is very strong." he answered in his usual voice.

He paused.
"As for Emilia..." he shook his head. "She is far too stubborn to die now." he said.

The meals arrived. The servant disappeared.
There were some vegetables in the food for the human and there was far too much for Kageko alone. Some red meat...flesh was there for the wolf.

"Enjoy..." the vampire whispered as he opened a bottle of 'wine' and poured a glass for himself.
His eyes took a strange hint when he at last brought the crystal to his pale lips.
He wished so much that this blood would heal his back.

---------------

Vincent noticed the young woman's hand on her weapon and his smile widened.
"Are you so eager?" he chuckled.
"I like that attitude." as strange fire seemed to be dancing in his eyes.

"You will work with me. I want to see what you are worth. I heard a lot about you, but I only trust my own judgment." he stared at her with cold eyes, as if trying to read behind her skull.

He started walking again up to two horses.
"Hop on." He ordered as he jumped on his beast.
Without another word, he kicked it and was off, not even checking if she was able to follow him.

After a moment of soaking Angeles got out of the bath water and back into her room. With a huff, and without even bothering putting clothes on she gathered all of Jonathan's things in the middle of the floor then began to chuck it out into the hallway. When the male vampire came to protest she threw him out with the dress he had laid on the bed.

"Don't test me Jonothan!" she yelled before slamming the door. A moment later she opened the door and came down the stairs, her hair still wet, but dressed in her usual clothes. She moved swiftly down the stairs and silently entered the dining room where she smelled blood. She moved over to Louis and bent to his ear.

"If you wish, you may use my bath," she then carefully lifted his shirt to look at the wound and added, "take my offer into serious consideration, it feels nice against the wounds."

Her mentality was quickly shifting from survival to hostess and she looked over at the other two, "are you doing well, they're treating you at least somewhat decently? If not I'll go back upstairs and get my sword."
