"Alrighty, anotha four on Terashi. Oh joy." Reno calmly spoke, slight sarcasm at the end of his words. Feeling a little tug on his shoulder, he spun on his heels to face Kairi. "So, ya want ta work with me? 'Ows about ya take the money and run the booth while I try ta gather us some customers. Need ta keep the money flowing in. Odds are to your left and 'ere's our current stock. Handing over a pile of 8 coins, he told Kairi, "These are all on Terashi." Handing over the other 2, he added, "And these are on Blizz. Thats what we 'ave. So you okay ta run it?"

"Hey! There is my foxy little prize!" Sub said as he walked up to Ship, and began to ruffle the fur on the top of his head. "Where have you been hiding? Or better yet, what have you been posing as lately? Maybe you've been here this whole time and I didn't notice." He said with a laugh.

Kairi attempted to smile, but it turned into more of a half-smirk, half-frown. "I think I can manage that. And if I can't... Well then I guess we're all screwed, aren't we?" she joked, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips. "Although, in all honesty... If I screw up then I can always blame you for putting me in charge," she said, sticking out her tongue at him. She took the coins carefully, making a mental note on how many had been bet on who so that she wouldn't forget. She didn't want to screw up anything by making a stupid mistake. Renata scurried up to the top of Kairi's head from her shoulder, watching everything and everyone in awe, chattering excitedly.

With Night away to tend to her caffiene needs, I was free to place the spiked gelatin back on the tray Night had taken it from, assuming Night had left the trays out. "Some party this is," I said monotonically. It would be then that I noticed Krystal. "Hey, babe," I said to her.

"Hello there, V," Night said, giving Sub a mock salute, "Probably doesn't help that most of the shots you took were extra-potent."


"Glad you enjoyed them, Kid," Night said, giving Ship a nod, "And this batch I left for about six hours."

Reno took the bet from Arthur and handed it over to Kairi with a whisper of "This ones on Tsuki." Turning back to the knightly fellow, Reno walked beside him while Tsuki drunkly mumbled on his shoulder. " "Ey, Arthur. You lookin fer any specific Pokemon? I could try ta track'em down fer ya if ya wanted." Reno asked, before he held up one finger.

"Answer me in just a sec. Come one, come all!! To the betting booth on our yearly match ups!! We 'ave the legendary Blizz facing down Tsuki, Rc, the resident meteor killa, against Larry, Terashi against yours truly and Will against Kairi!! So place yer bets and see if ya can figure out the winners of these epic clashes!!" Reno barked into the crowded room, before turning back to Arthur. "Okay, Jobs done. So anything ya need?"

"Six hours. I will remember that. And I see I will need bigger kettle," said Ship. He went to the cupboard and reached up for a few tall mugs, poured for Night and Sub and handed them to Sub. "Give Miss Night hers, please. More tea must flow."

So he replaced the water and tea bags and as the kettle steeped anew, he sipped from what he had left.

"Anyway, fireworks sound nice. The weather is warming. What is the occasion?"
