If anything, Aden seemed to be a little eager to get inside, and did so quickly. He couldn't help being a little on edge, but it wasn't out of doubts. He wasn't quite sure why, but he was a little pumped this time around. The chance of knocking Jackie down a notch was merely a bonus.

As soon as I saw Aden made his way in, I walked off towards Aden and meeting him at the elevator just a ways away. "Well, here goes something." I said.

"Yeah... hopefully something good." Aden spoke up, wasting no time in having the elevator make its way up when he got there. "Might want keep my aces for when they're needed most, though."

As soon as Aden was on the elevator, the elevator shot straight up towards the arena in the tower. It was only a moment before we were there. "......" This was a familiar sight to say the least. The skies were clear, the winds graced the battlefield. "Welcome back." I looked across the field, finding Falkner and Jackie there on the other side. "We've been expecting you." "Yea, just taking in the sights around here to say the least before coming back." I said. "I'm a bit surprised that you're back so soon, I have to admit." Falkner said, looking towards Aden. "Stupid if you ask me. Hardly enough time to work up a new game plan." Jackie spoke up. I turned my eyes towards Aden.

Looking at those skies, Aden felt there wasn't much to worry about. But then Jackie ruined that moment in an instant. "I think the only thing stupid's you acting like Falkner just went and clipped your wings this morning." He quipped. "A day's more than enough to get something through your head, along with other things."

"Alright, if this is going to happen today, then lets get this started, shall we?" Falkner said. "Good luck, Aden." I said, walking off away from him and taking a seat along the bleachers on the sidelines, Falkner joining me soon after. Jackie was already making his way to his position on the field.

"Sorry. Shouldn't have said that." Aden spoke up, figuring he might want to apologize in case he regrets his quip's results. He quickly ran to the position opposite of Jackie, getting a Pokeball ready.

He quickly ran to the position opposite of Jackie, getting a Pokeball ready. As Aden and Jackie got their Pokeballs at the ready, the referee came out and made his way to his position on the field, off to the side and on the center, ref flags in hand. "This is a two on two battle, singles format, here at the Violet City Gym. Violet City Gym Apprentice Jackie defends against Aden of Agate Village, Orre Region! The Challenger, Aden, is allowed to switch Pokemon whenever he feels fit. Jackie will not. With that, let the battle begin!" The ref spoke to the two, raising flags up high. "I'll start things off. Fearow! Take flight!" He called out. He tossed the Pokeball once again and out came the massive fearsome bird to lead off. "Feeeeaarrrr!" The Fearow screeched. "Here we go..." I said to Falkner.

Of course, this time, Aden hoped he wouldn't have to resort to such means so easily. Seeing Jackie and his Fearow, though, he couldn't help being reminded of yesterday. "Let's see if we can't do something differently today... Raticate, you lead this one!"
An unusual choice, perhaps, but as he saw it, speed might be the best asset he could open with. Save that range for when he was going to need it most. To those means, he let Raticate out onto the field.

Jackie looked at what he had to deal with. First a Nidoran to lead off, now a Raticate. It made no difference to him, though. "Alright. Take to the air, Fearow!" He shouted.
"Feeaar!" The Fearow then started to ascend up towards the sky.

"Raticate, your speed will talk soon enough. Get yourself ready! Focus Energy!" Aden called. He knew he was going to be mostly stuck to the ground here. But with Raticate, the best shot at anti-air tactics would be in his mobility. With the rat jumping about and getting himself pumped, alongside what sounded like humming for some reason... it was the best he could open with.

Interesting. "Fearow! Come down on this rat!" "Feeeeaar!" The Fearow then went down into a dive, rushing towards the gym floor and then pulled itself up, rushing towards the Raticate like a feathery missile.

That would prove to be a mistake. Aden was hoping for a quick assault. "Raticate, anti-air shot number one! Sucker Punch!" He called out.
A yell was heard from Raticate as he ducked as low as possible, waiting for Fearow to come close before throwing a sudden punch at what could only be considered utter random.

As the Fearow rushed in at full speed, he found himself caught off-guard by the counter blow as it rushed on by. "FEEARR!" It shouted. It got thrown off its trajectory and came to a hard stop, turning a one-eighty to face the Raticate. That one...hurt. "FEEEAR!" "Ugh, really?" Jackie said. "Fearow, get back up!" He then shouted. "Aerial Ace!" The Fearow then took to the skies once again and it was quick to move in for a strike once again.

"What, did you think I was going to just sit there and let him take that? I remembered what happened the last time I tried that, thanks." Aden spoke up, with Raticate chiming in and saying something about Fearow's parents likely being raised in a barn. An explanation for its behavior, perhaps?
"But two can play your game. Raticate, Quick Attack!" This time, Raticate jumped into the air, launching himself at Fearow in an effort to trade blows. He had to keep the heat on Fearow, Aden thought. Keep it from maintaining an upper hand.
