Rinor ran about fourty feet ahead of the rest of the group, as she slowed to a walk she let a smiled cross her face. This was where she belonged. 'Man its been so long since I've been scout.' She thought as she did a quick three sixty of the area, her eagle eyes didn't pick out anything suspisius, but she kept wary. Making sure to do a swing check every couple of minutes.

As she looked over the grass she realized that someone about her height would have no trouble moving through the grass undetected, in a crouch, this thought made her perk up her watch, she used her pereferal vision to watch the group. 'How many possible ways can we get ambushed here, the grass is formidable, the trees here could easily hold about five people each, so all trees within eyesight are one..two..three...four... five...and six, thats only if they don't have spy glasses. I'll have to be carefull, this place isn't known for mauraders, but you never know..' She thought.

Faye laughed softly to herself at Eikre's dancing. She thought it was humorously odd, and sort of a strange, happy dance. She kept walking, keeping up her steady pace, but covered her mouth with the back of right hand, trying not to let anyone see her laughter. She didn't want anyone to take it the wrong way. Faye watched, while walking, as Rinor ran ahead of the group to scout. Faye wondered if Rinor would find anything. She hoped that she would, and also that she would not. She wanted a bit of adventure, but she also didn't want to get hurt. Either or, something was going to happen.

Rinor took a deep breath and let it out slowly as she started to walk a little faster, wanting to at least be out of sight of the town by the end of the hour, she grinned a little. She hadn't had this much fun in ages.

She did a quick three sixty again, still watching the grass, she didn't see anything which kept her good mood going, this was nice. It reminded her of the old days, hanging around with Luxord and a few of her childhood friends, most of which were probably dead by now. She stopped for a second as she thought she heard something, she held up her hand to signal for her comrades to stop, she stood up straight and listened intently, the sound of a horse, no two horses galloping, coming towards them. As the figures came into view, their posture and state of dress told her that they were just messengers passing through the area. She signaled Eikre and the others keep moving, before she started to move faster than before.

When Rinor signaled for the group to stop, Fayette halted her pace obediently, and tensely listened. She heard the clattering of hooves coming toward them, but when Rinor signaled that it was okay to keep moving forward, Faye trusted her comrade and started her steady steps once again.

Eikre looked back once in his dance, and their little town was gone from sight. Interesting how time flies when you're having fun? Or were they actually covering a lot of ground? He shrugged, and managed to keep in step, but finished his dance nonetheless. He peered ahead, and scanned around Rinor. Regardless of how perceptive you may be. You can't see out the back of your head. he mentally thought about her.

Her signal to stop moving because of the messengers was heeded, but he thought he noticed the grass shifting out of the wind, like there was something in them...but that was more than a score of feet beyond Rinor, so he couldn't tell exactly. He was pretty sure she'd turn to the right to look in their direction, and guess as to what they are, if there was anything. Bandits, Goblinoids, what-have-you-got-to-break-the-tedium type creatures. That sort of thing.

Rinor caught the shift of the grass, but instead of looking at the spot and alerting whatever was in it, she turned her head to the left and checked over the grass in that direction. She smiled even more. 'Idoits thinking they can get the jump on me, I'll show them.' She thought as she did another three sixty, making sure to watch for the glint of glass or metal in the sun, she didn't see anything like that, nor did she see any shifting branches in the trees.

Rinor turned her head again and pretended to be checking out a tree to the left of her as she looked at the spot under supicion through the corner of her eye. She thought she saw the grass shift a little more and a flash of black hair. She turned her head and looked right at the spot, searching the grass, she saw it easily, a form that was ovbouisly human with black hair crouched in the grass, with another human form that was slightly smaller. She shrugged and sighed a little. Turning back to the road, she kept her ears open for even a slight whisper in the road. 'Just a bunch of ambush theives, probably don't have more than a dagger for weapons, I can take them easy.'

Fayette watched Eikre finish his dance, and she laughed inwardly. Her laughs did not escape her lips, however, she grinned to herself, humming a little tune as she walked. Fayette could see Rinor up ahead, still scouting, she presumed. Fayette glanced around at her surroundings for a moment; the town they were just at was now out of sight. They had obviously walked pretty far. Time seemed to pass quite quickly.

Rin was good, Lan would give her that. The way she scouted without appearing to see anything. Although it did leave the rest of them, especially her at the rear with a slight disatvantage. She suspected there was something ahead simply because of the was Eikre had been looking at a spot for a moment too long. She wasn't even sure she really saw anything, but it was always better alive and paranoid, than dead and careless. Well, thought Lan, shifting her weight more evenly, I was itching for a good brawl, and it seems one might be closer than the next tavern.

She smiled to herself, and released her wrist cords, feeling the cool hilts of her daggers fall into her palms. It left her feeling elated for a bit, even if she did hate killing. A good old fight, where the losers just hobbled off suited her preferences, however, when treasure hunting, work was work. But, chances were, nothing would end up happening at all.

Lan was smiling. Well, at least somebody's happy without a tankard in her. Eikre joked as he put his lyre back. He took a quick glance around at his companions, and chuckled a little as it had appeared he had the biggest weapon. Considering it was a rapier, it was nothing to boast about otherwise.

He saw vaguely human forms hidden unskillfully in the grass, and his left hand strayed near the aforementioned rapier, resting for a fleeting moment on the basket that curved around the hilt. With eyes nearly as sharp as Rin's, born of his heritage, he tried to see if there were anything farther out. He tried to make eye contact with her, seeing if she had a better idea of when to strike.

Rinor turned around as she caught Eikre's gaze, she shook her head to signal not to strike, she had a much better plan. Turning back around she hoped that the idoits in the grass had taken that as the coast is clear signal so that they wouldn't catch on. As she neared the spot in the grass, she saw the glint of metal and someone preparing to lunge.

Rinor sighed softly when a dirt covered, teenage boy jump attacked her with an iron staff, grabbing the staff out of the boy's hands she threw it to the right and then quick drew her ton-to, slicing clean across his throat. It was then that the smaller of the forms came out, a girl about age ten, remsembling the boy she was brandishing a stick. Rinor just stabbed through the girl's neck. "Too ea-" She was cut short by someone lunging out from behind her, she spun on her heel and blocked the dagger, she drew her kodachi and sliced at her attacker's face, knocking him back and then she finished him off with a quick stab to his throat. She straightened up, her face blotted with blood, none of it was her's though.

Smiling happily she wiped the blood off her blades and face. She did a search of the bodies for anything valuable all she found was a pure silver ring with a sapphire. "That'll sell nice." She said as she looked at it, slipping it into an empty pocket quickly. She hauled the bodies back into the grass and then just continued walking.

Fayette squinted a bit, trying hard to watch Rinor at the distance she was at. Her eyesight was not as good as that of an elf, but good enough. She stopped squinting, letting her eyes relax a bit, and watched Rinor casually. She didn't want anyone to pity her for not 'sharp' eyes. They were sharp enough for her.

Faye shook her head, frowning with disdain at Rinor's actions. "Was all that manslaughter really necessary?" she muttered to herself. "They are but children!" Faye hated it when people killed on impulse. She knew that it was the kids' fault for attacking, but still, Rinor did not know their reasons.

"Was all that manslaughter really necessary?" Fayette asked Rinor as she finished her dirty work.

Eikre's sharp ears picked up even the slightest bit. While he didn't agree with the fact they were children, he didn't pity them for turning to high-way robbery. He answered calmly, "It's their fault for being idiots enough to try and rob us. They gave her a spook, and Rinor fought back in self defense.

Reaching the two "assailants", he looked them over, and he was slightly disgusted as his next few thoughts and actions, he still took a quick look over the spoils. Not that they'd do the dead much good! Not seeing anything of further value, he called to Rinor, "Be a little more careful next time! If they're younger than the age of ten, they shouldn't be killed mercilessly."

As Eikre called out to her Rinor turned around, instantly changing her expression to her usual bored looking one. She just nodded and turned back around, letting the group catch up to her a little before she started walking again.

She didn't understand their opposition to killing, in her village she would have been congragulated and possibly given a gift or free meal for being able to kill something that looked so innocent. She couldn't denie her love of killing, she loved to watch the light of life leave anyone's eyes, it made her feel powerful, for the first fifteen years of her life, killing had been the only thing she had been proud of.

She sighed, after that display she didn't think that any other theives would risk their lives to try and rob them, still she kept her vigil up. You could never be to careful. Her smiled returned, maybe some idoit would attack her, then she could kill more.

"Whatever..." Fayette muttered, shaking her head. "It's dishonorable to kill a child... then again, it's dishonorable to sneak-attack..." Fayette stopped her minor ramblings before they continued. She only liked to fight with honor. She had simply a lot of pride.

Lan looked the 'attackers' over, her face carefully kept blank. While she throught Rin used excessive force on these people, really, a couple of broken arms would've been fine, She did not share Fay's view either. The 'children' would have tried to kill or maim members of the the treasure hunting party, and in her opinion, if they were old enough to kill, they were old enough to be killed.

Even as she thought this, she mentally sighed. People had to do what they had to do to survive. Even if it invloved killing or stealing, she stole herself when she was a child. This world truly is survival of the fittest. She left the bodies behind, marching resolutely on. There was no looking back.
