Alsalam Alaykum All ~

let me make all what i have said Clear ~ and give u the conclusion !!
Taking Pictures of ur self and hang them is halal
BUT drawing pictures of humans and hang them is the HARAM!!
so why r u all talking about taking pictures ??! it's Halal!!!
but drawing is Haram ~ because in it u r trying to make some kind of a human and u might not draw it the same as it is real and change in Allah's creation!! But taking pictures from a Camera Machine brings it all Natural and Real you !!

~ ~ and my answer is on Debate ~ ~

Wasalam ~

I suppose I agree with you there, But my sister draws pictures all the time, and the only way it is forbidden is if you worship it or hold it high, You could still draw or paint whatever AS LONG as you DO NOT hold it anymore than a mere painting/drawing/picture.

Painting humans and animals things is haram! But painting landscapes are ok! No more no less!

So let's say that pic in your sig with the two hands shaking is a painting, Would that be haram or not?

The ONLY way it's haram is how you interpret it, You can have one thing, yet that same thing can be both haram AND halal, Such as lets say, Soda.

Soda is bad first of all for your health, Making it haram, but it is also Halal because it keeps you from being quenched, which is Halal. Do you see what I'm saying?

Aha, I see, depending on the way you use the thing, such as internet or something. If you use it in a good way ( ex. learning about science ) then it's halal. If you use it in a bad way ( could be anything from hearing bad music to getting involved with the wrong people ) it's then Haram. Same goes for painting. I think I got it right..

That would make more sense then banning painting creations, Because that would include Islamic artists in the past as doing a "Grave sin".

From what I remember, the only thing really Haram in general is making a attempt to make a picture of Allah (SWT) himself, This is a grave sin stated in all 3 Abrahamic(SP) religions and I'm sure no one from them can disagree.

I can't seem to understand actually, I draw alot, and I come up with new drawing each day. I mean, I like drawing. But I guess it depends on the way you use it.

And you're right you can't draw Allah (SWT) and any of the prophets.

Didn't you see all the fuzz about it? Muslims everywhere are mad because of it. It's forbidden, it shouldn't be there, it's FORBIDDEN. I can't seem but cry that someone is trying to draw Prophet Muhammad! Truely, I'm really mad about those pictures!!

And Ratri, no, unless he's the one who painted it, he won't turn into stone, but in the day of judgement, Allah will lead him straight to hell!

It's forbidden for Muslims, but not for the rest of the world. We don't have a problem with it. People post slanderous pics of Jesus and Catholic religious leaders. You get frustrated and get over it. It's not the end of the world. You look at the picture, sigh and move on with life. There are far more important things to do than dwell upon things such as pictures of people

I was actually being sarcastic, but since you replied, all I can say is: so what? The guy made a conscious choice, and if what happens as you say happens at judgment day, so be it. I don't see the point of dwelling on it.

No actually Ratri, you're wrong, I'm not over it, and I won't be saticfied until they're removed. And hear a proper appology. I know that forgivness is what Prophet Mohammad recommended. But I just can't, it's just too big in Prophet Mohammad ( PBUH ) right! Because prophet's Mohammad's face isn't known, and shouldn't be imagined by someone who is even not a muslim, and drown!!! It's kind of whenever you try to imagine Prophet's Mohammad's face, you'd just remember that PICTURE!! When my family first heard of the news, my mother kept crying. And I thought, I now want to see Prophet Mohammad's face more than ever, to get away those false pictures of him from my head!

And it's important that you say to somebody what you are doing is wrong, and say what are the result of what you are doing, and what kind of punishment you'll have. Then I would've done my job, and he's free for what he'll do. I really don't care, that's what Prophet Mohammad told people to do. Whenever you see someone doing something wrong, tell them you're wrong.

Have a hard heart then. I don't see a problem with a supposed pic of Muhammad (be it cartoon or no). Neither do most people who are non-Muslims, unless they draw deliberately to be slanderous.
You can't really stop that kind of thing. Get mad at them, confront them, and if they refuse to change, then suck it up.

Maybe it's because I'm used to it and I just ignore it. I don't see why Muslims can't do the same and be the bigger person. Instead these sort of reactions add more fuel to the fire and encourage people to draw what you view is wrong. It's going to be a never-ending cycle. It's been happening for over 2,000 years with Christianity, namely Catholicism, we've endured and kept going on. We've confronted those who are slanderous in a polite manner. Those who listened, we forgave. Those who didn't...we still forgave them and prayed for their souls and moved on with life. And if we couldn't confront the individual, we went on with life and said a prayer for them.

You're upset because you're not supposed to speculate what Muhammed looked like? Christians speculate how Jesus looked. That's sort of similar. But it's not a problem for them. Why are you not allowed to speculate what Muhammed looked like?

Because one of the biggest problems is how easy it is to bring some sort of association with God, Taking Monotheistic thoughts out, Forbidden in Islam constantly mentioned.

There's no stopping these silly pictures, So of course you sigh and move on, There's no sensitivity on this "Green" Earth of ours. (More like polluted waters and dirty land.)

It's more than dirty land and pollution, it's like me being surronded by really ugly black smug. I really think that this subject should be closed, because this really is non ending. Because if we kept talking until tomorrow morning this ain't going to finish.

I just can't understand why you can't get over it.

I mean, if Catholics acted like Muslims in the Middle East when protesting that Danish cartoon of Muhammad for every incinerating picture and drawing that was shown to us, everyone would still be under the Inquisition.

Why is it so hard for people to let go? It's just a dumb picture!

I guess when you say that you say it to the majority Muslims who rioted against the picture, I haven't really "Let go" of it in the sense of completely not caring, But I certainly won't go to extremes and do anything rash, This stuff happens just due to how cruel some if not most people are, and I've accepted that, I know people have ridiculed all 3 of these Monotheistic faiths through out history, There's no use to focus on that and not your obligations as Jews, Christians, or Muslims.

Actually I'm 14 years old. I confess, I might act childish sometimes. Maybe I consider the pure picture of Islam as my favourite toy. Consider that the neighbour's son ripped this toy. How many days, as a child, I'd be crying. My mother will of course try to bring me other toys, but it wouldn't be as the first toy, which I really loved. It's just like that. But I guess, it's always saved in my heart, and I know that Islam will always be pure, I really shouldn't care about people trying to make it silly. I shouldn't care about what people say. But it's just in my nature.
Let me tell you something, it's not like I'm crying and my eyes are swollen. It hurts, but not in the way as if I'm screaming, someone died ( God forbid ). I surely will never forget how bitter this tastes. But well, let's just get it off my mind for a while.
