Freak_090 OberFeldwebel I know what has been deleted can be undeleted. That's actually what we're working on in class right now. Best to combine a program that wipes the hard drive and upon completion or an unexpected shut down, an explosive or incendiary device. Power goes out and you have a MAJOR SNAFU.....
Backup power supply.
Standard procedure for shutting off a computer that has a wiping program running is to unplug it at the back of the chassis.
Figure out how to make that trigger a charge and epic win. |

Also, are you sure that magnets don't completely destroy a hard drive? My instructor says that they do and I'm sure he said that they're unrecoverable. Maybe he's lying or maybe I missed some of what he said. neutral Nope, it only scrambles it. Get a good enough computer, and it can be unscrambled. With the programs the government uses, they can even get files you thought you "deleted". You need to melt or grind up a platter to make it completley unusable. or put a Dell OEM sticker on it. I know what has been deleted can be undeleted. That's actually what we're working on in class right now. Which is why they sell/give programs that delete the hard drive and then zero it out, where it covers ALL the old data, even after formatting, with zeros, where the hard drive can NEVER be used again. All of the tests I have taken show me as being only 55% conservative. |
