Dogmeat is from Fallout 3.
But thank you for giving me an idea as to what to call my dog in Fable II.

Anyone who doesn't pick love fails to realise that the dog is an essential piece of this game.

Well not necessarily. I mean if you have the knothole expansion then you don't need to pick love.

I wouldn't say the dog is necessary. Awesome to have though. I mean, as long as you finish the game, you can go on without him, right? I chose to resurrect those lost in the spire due to glitches with my family, and any quests I had to dig in led me there via the golden trail. I do miss the dog though.

it was until you are able to get the Knothole Island DLC. I chose the sacrifice my family and dog for others.
I chose sacrifice and I still enjoy playing the game, even without DLC.

I finished it yesterday and I was really disappointed. The game is great, no doubt, but it felt like they did the end of the story in a bit of a hurry. Like, find Reaver -> go to the spire -> shoot Lucien.
The main story should really have been longer, Reaver didn't really have a role in it at all.
Oh, and I chose love. I didn't want to let go of my dog.

I chose sacrifice. emo Stupid godie-goodie two-shoes of a hero.
But isn't there a place in the expansion that you can go to to get your bestest buddy back?
Yup, lead a person to the tomb in the graveyard and pull the lever to get the 1337 dog back.
I really went on both paths on different saves but my first one was good.
