Furries need to stand up and fight!

Furries need to sit down, shut up, and fix their internal problems.

As for what Little Kanade said...that's sweet of you to say that.

It sounds like we have an all out war between many different mentalities. Well, I can't really say anything on either side of the debate I'm afraid. I really don't know much past myself, so I'll stick to what I know.

I don't find fur sexy or anything like that, I just find the prospect of animal/human hybrids interesting. Often times I squeek, mew, or kitsu in the middle of class (to the dismay of my teachers and a few preppy people), but for the most part my friends know me and don't mind, and that's all that really matters.

Well am not so sure about that hate part at my highschool, I mean there are about 34 known furries at my highschool 'senior currently' and we all just hang out in a pack. People just ignore us or try to get use to us, which I think is sweet that their trying. I mean I walk around with a blue and black tail and ears. I also ordered a mask like the one my avi is wearing and I wear that around. So far the pack has been just fine, well until that kid from NY came and began spreading rumors about my pack. Turns out he was a anti-fur and got alot of kids all hyped up... Story short fight broke out between my pack and some humans. Furries came out on top rofl

Right now my hatred of furries, or some at least is increasing.

How many of your are cub furs? Care to explain how any of you can attempt to....justify cub porn? What the hell? I understand the cub fur thing but if you are going to regress to a child mentality you leave adult things behind, including sexual themes.

And people wonder why the fandom gets hate. It might be because we have so people who toe the line of bestiality or ***** and then throw huge baw-fests the moment someone dares to bring up an opposing opinion or point out the obvious

i don't know. i understand where Sanguvixen is coming from. i mean if you ask me questions about just about anything, i'm going to sound like a mass of contradiction, but that's just how i am, and i'm not great with words.

Sanguvixen (i apologize if i ever spell your name wrong, it's hard), i have to say that, no, i do not know you in person. but you are probably one of the wisest people i've heard speak (metaphorically). sometimes you sound harsh, but that's hard to avoid when discussing anything relatively controversial.

on a general note, everyone has different reasons for hating furs, and most, if not all, of those reasons do not apply to manymany furries. but i do understand how and why we can be hated. we have problems. many problems. anyone who doesn't see that is naive and blind. nothing is perfect in this world, on either side of any argument. we all have to accept that of ourselves, and know that issues will always exist, no matter what we do.

...we just need to stop pointing fingers...all of us. if no one starts it, the pointing will truly never stop....? heh. and now i apologize for rambling and hope i made some sense. it is late and i am tired.

I've been around the furry scene enough, 9 years, so I have reasons to be a bit anti-fur even though I am a furry.

I see things that the fandom does and it just blows my mind. More and more I find it harder to soften what I have to say about the fandom, but I try my best.

I agree with many things within the fandom but I also disagree with many things. I tolerate many things and at the same find some things just unacceptable.

The Babyfur fandom has once again come up as a point of contention in various areas, and it's just blowing my mind. It reminds me of back when I was on Gaia fighting the good fight, getting rid of trolls and making idiots back down and stop harrassing people just for being furries.

The entire reason people became targets is because they were intolerant of the idea of anyone not liking the fandom, and unable to accept differing opinions. So when people had good points to bring up as issues the fandom should work out....those things were ignored. People threw huge hissy fits and refused to accept that the fandom is not perfect.

Half the fight was getting the furries here on gaia to learn to stop taking the bait and understand there is nothing wrong with someone not liking the fandom. Also if a person does not like one aspect of it, it does not mean they hate the whole group.

Here on Gaia many furries, I have seen them mature to the point where they can act accordingly around non furs in the forums when the topic of the furry fandom comes up and because of that we have less people trolling us.

I really wish other parts of the fandom, the inner communities that become little niches would learn the same thing. The fandom would avoid so much drama if people stopped treating what turns them on as a sacred cow.

Most of you are free to ignore this I'm just looking to stir some discussion and maybe activity in a civil manner.

Anyway it's nice to be able to cut loose and be yourself in the fandom. For people like me who has been around it's always in the back of my mind when stuff starts to happen fandom wide...because some things can directly affect our ability to be furry and have furry things in real life and online.

It's quite alright. You can shorten it and call me Sangu if it helps. Most people do that.

I guess having been here a while as a furry makes me seem wise. I appreciate that compliment.

You are right that it is hard to not be a bit abrasive when it comes to controversial topics. Sometimes if you don't state the issue as it is, you will never get anything done. I try though, oh I try to soften things now, because I am thinking that I should revert back to the original ways I dealt with these things since it worked here early on, about 3 years back.

As for furries pointing fingers, that happens a lot, does it not? The moment a real issue pops up, for example with cub porn which not every cub fur looks at, a new issue is popping up in places like Germany, Australia, California, Virginia, Austria, The Netherlands....new rules and laws are coming into play that turn cub porn into a legal liability.

You don't have to point fingers at "Cub furs" or "Diaper furs" in order to address that yes this is an issue the fandom needs to pay attention to "Cub Porn" which is nothing more than a tertiary thing. It needs to pay attention the cases that come up dealing with drawn CP, and act accordingly.

However recently with what happened with Alan Panda, fingers are pointing fingers and the niche community in which cub porn comes from, is all up in arms. They think the fingers are pointed at them(so they point fingers at others), and many people are mistakenly pointing fingers at them. So the people who bring up the core issue and cut the finger pointing game, get ignored and it's a bit frustrating.

People have come to treat in the furry fandom, things like porn and kinks as a sacred cow. So if the porn and kinks cross into legal boundaries as legal issues evolve and change, people find themselves feeling their being as under fire when it is not so. What turns you on...that's not the biggest part of you. If legal issues crop up with what turns you on and you get asked to move it somewhere else, or maybe create your own website or be more careful...it does not suddenly mean the niche community you are part of is under fire.

But so many people don't get it.

You are right though most of what people hate us for does not apply to us all, but at the same time it is easy to see why people would hate us, and to see our problems and issues that do need working out, all you have to do is be open to listening to different opinions.

Hrm...a very meaningful page, this is.

It reminds me to be critical, but not hasty, in my observations.

Also, I advise you to be wary of judging a group based on the actions of a few. This page makes it evident that there are several in the fandom who do not approve of cub-porn, a practise I am unfamiliar with, and the concept of which I find repulsive. Regardless, this alone is proof that a questionable furry-related practice is not supported by the furry community as a whole.

...I really need to develop a less confusing sentence structure.

i am also worried about that happening so i keep it to myself except when all hallows eve come around and i can go out like that without worrie where i live i would be lucky if all they did was call me names if i wasent i would end up in the er icu wing but, why they hate us is (keep in mind this is just a guess or theory) becuase people fear others who arent like them and feel that they must keep anyone that is down even if the fear is unjust and not true.
