Sephiroth nodded, "Perhaps I might suggest SOLDIER? It never hurts to apply, I won't claim it's easy, because it isn't by any means but it would provide security and a career." He turned to Saerenna, "Lets continue then, I'm still up for a good challenge in Battle Square." He belatedly remembered to smile again as he said that, Polite conversation was not instinctual for him. He glanced once at Shinrei, who had not yet spoken, the boy seemed somewhat stunned. Then the great general strode briskly forward, adjusting his long-legged stride to accomidate the young scientist beside him.

Valens looked up at him"I have...but i cant pass there test..I fear i am to weak in the body to do them"he began walking beside him as he talked hoping to see the man in action if the black haired man ever came after him again

Saerenna smiled back at Sephiroth and then to Valens, "Well... I'm not really great at anything, but yet, here I am, a ShinRa employee and assistant to the head scientist. And all I did was try." then after a thoughful pause, she muttered, "Though it could be because anyone else who tried the job had quit soon after...." Well, life had many interesting twists. Such as the fact that she was currently accompanying General Sephiroth to the Battle Square.

Valens shrugged at the womens comment"I fear that i knopw more about computers then testing animals with things that will be used on SOLDIER."He said it and he ment it no matter who was listening

Zach grinned broadly at Aeris, manuevering neatly through the hallways with the giant crate. They both arrived just in time to watch the Chocobos take off. Wordlessly Zach meandered through the crowd and presented his bounty to Fenrir, Garm, and Trista. "I've got snacks! What is your pleasure?" He grinned mischeiviously.

Fenrir enthusiastically searched the crate for the requested cat cookies. He found five and immediatly obsconed with them. He settled in happily munching and talking happily, thankfully not at the same time. Despite the fact Zach was a rival Fenrir was feeling benevolently towards him... of course his feelings of benevolence were extended to almost anyone who gave him food.

Garm however quietly stated," I am not hungry at present." This normally dignified statement was rendered somewhat rediculous by the fact Garm was sitting besides the Mog doll and his blond head was adorned with the a crown that declared him the 10,000,000th person to enter the Chocobo Square. He, despite his earlier protests was quite engrossed in the race, watching a sleek black chocobo particularly. The bird had beautiful conformation not to mention swift.

"Wow, I had no idea these boxes had such a beautiful view, look at all the lights and attractions! I bet this is kinda like what the Round Square is like...but I don't think I have enough GP for that..." She added quietly as a sad observatoin to herself.

Sabel waited anxiously, her mount every bit as tense as she as they prepared for the race to begin. Then the gates opened and Kuroi was off like a shot. The bird ran, passing the others in the first seconds of the race, and then slowing when they had gained enough of a lead on their opponants, in order to recuperate stamina. Going at this slower trot, Sabel finally had the option to look around, seeing off the track where the other squares were, most seemed ratehr intersting and Sabel made a note to check back at some of them after the race. As she passed Battle Square Sabel caught her breath. It can't be...The Chosen One? Here?! Before she had a chance to identify the man for certain her view was obscured by another racer. "Kuroi, let's go!" They were now nearing the finish line and had allowed a few others to gain on them. Sabel swore, Kuroi giving his all to try and surpass the others. It was tight, the green chocobo beside them was able to match Kuroi's frenzied sprint as they closed the last stretch, the black chocobo's legs burned with exertion but the finish line was closing in now. Neck and neck with the other Kuroi leaned down with his rider adjusting her own position for best effect. They blew past the finish line and took a bit to slow down, tense and waiting to see who had indeed come ahead in the race.

One of the officials solemnly approached the exhausted chocobo and rider. "So...now that you've WON the race, what are you gonna do?!"

"W-we won?! WOOT! I'm going to..." Sabel paused and remembered her mission "The Battle Square!" She stated firmly a grin spreading across her face as her eyes blazed intently greener.

"Ah...right...well guess what?! You've won a Final attack materia!"

"YES! That was exactly what I wanted!"

"Okaaay...here you go..." Lay off the hypers sweatdrop The race supervisor thought to himself.

Shinrei remainded silent for several moments, mulling over his options. Here, he had finally found someone who had bested him, the Great General Sephiroth really was as powerful as they had claimed. He was beside himself with amazement and admiration, the SOLDIER had caught his ploy so nonchalantly, during a conversation with another person. He'd picked pockets of people who had KNOWN he was there and they had never even suspected him. He had to learn Sephiroth's secret, he had to find a way to exceed this man's finesse, in order to square himself away with his own honor. "May I accompany you as well, General Sephiroth?" He paused considering how to further his new cause without offending the great man or causing him to underrate himself.

Zach managed not to grin like an idiot at Aeris's mention of the Round. "I could take you!" He supplied somehow managing a casual tone, in his head he was cheering, how perfect! It was like FATE!!! He glanced to his other side and grinned triumphantly at Fenrir. "How does right after the race sound?" He asked Aeris, barely restraining the urge to leap up and whoop with joy. He was so distracted that he didn't even notice that the race had ended, and he very likely decided that the victory music was simply playing in his head.

Sephiroth glanced down at Shinrei, his face unreadable at the request the youth voiced. The great general didn't even notice his sudden lapse of facial expression, as he pondered over this latest development. "I suppose you may follow, if you do not make a nuisance of yourself." He instructed sternly, but in truth he had no idea how to deal with children, and fervently hoped the boy's parents would make an appearance soon. He glanced at Valens, noting the man's very poingant dislike of the Shinra scientists, Sephiroth did not really mind either way where those Shinra employees were concerned, he just avoided the labratories and the whole of Shinra headquarters on general principal. "Well perhaps you should give some thought into a career which provides security of some kind." Sephiroth provided in what he hoped was a gently coaxing tone, but which came off more like a curt dismissal. "You can't exactly be picky in your situation can you?" The conversation was mostly halted at that point as they had finally arrived at Battle Square, the great General had to wonder that he had managed to attract such a mottley crew in the short amount of time it took to transverse the distance between the Wonder Square and the Battle Square. He discarded this thought with a sigh, as he walked up to the desk to sign his name down. The desk coordinator started to read the name back to him, and then stuttered half-way through, eyes rising to stare at Sephiroth in awe, Sephiroth sighed mentally, Not again...

Frankly, Saerenna couldn't wait to watch this. She hardly ever went to Gold Saucer, and even less to the Battle Square. So, understandably, she had never seen anyone beat all the rounds, and she had no doubt that Sephiroth would end up doing just that. However, she did pity the General somewhat, as it was obvious he had many fans and admirers. And yet, none of his life was his fault. He had been born and trained to be the best SOLDIER, and he was, but he had never really had a choice in the matter. That thought made her wonder if her job really was that great a thing. Because, well, were there ever choices?

Fenrir managed to cover the glare he felt coming on but just barely. He smiled and all but his grey eyes did a poor job of hiding he was seething inwardly. Even his voice was pleasent as he said, " Well, glad you could join us for the race at least." He looked expressively at Aeris, " If you had not already such a willing escort I would have been happy to take you." He felt Garm's dissapproval boring into the back of his head. He didn't particlarly care at this juncture. Instead he turned to Trista, " Well, perhaps Miss Bloodcourt would enjoy a ride in the round with me."

He just caught Garm's quiet whisper of, " Laying it on a little thick..."

" Just wait until you meet a girl you like," he hissed back. Garm, thoroughly disgusted by Fenrir and Zach's wrangling abruptly excused himself on the flimsy excuse he wanted some kettle corn.

Fuming at Fenrir's foolish display and not quite thinking where he was going colided with a smaller figure. He looked up and found himself near the winners circle. Looking down he saw it was the rider of the black chocobo. " I'm sorry, I wasn't watching were I was going," Garm explained hurridly as he extended his hand. " Let me help you up...." Whatever Garm was going to say next died in his throat. She was beautiful, with such lovely green eyes.... they almost seemed to blaze.

"Please..Just call me Trista..Miss Bloodcourt makes me feel old...And..I would love to acompany you!"SHe said and smiled slightly. She turned back to watch the race.

" Trista then," Fenrir said with his dazzeling smile. He held out his hand as he stood, " Shall we be on our way then?" He said this with a sly smile in Zach's direction. " Oh, and I hear there is a comedy playing tonight in the Event Square.... Garm and I have some extra tickets...."

Fuming at Fenrir's foolish display and not quite thinking where he was going colided with a smaller figure. He looked up and found himself near the winners circle. Looking down he saw it was the rider of the black chocobo. " I'm sorry, I wasn't watching were I was going," Garm explained hurridly as he extended his hand. " Let me help you up...." Whatever Garm was going to say next died in his throat. She was beautiful, with such lovely green eyes.... they almost seemed to blaze.

Sabel stood and allowed Garm to help her to her feet, she continued regarding him with interest for several moments. Hmmm, he seems familiar to me somehow... This thought was quickly interupted as she recalled her mission. "Thank you, I'd like to stay and talk, but I have urgent business in Battle Square, you may accompany me if you wish." She offered, mounting Kuroi once again and waiting a few more moments for Garm's reply before dashig off.

"Would you really?!" Aeris gasped in surprise. "B-but you've already been so nice to me, how am I ever going to pay you back?" Aeris asked looking up at him with heratfelt gratitude and concern. "I can't believe that man back in Wonder Square was so mean to someone as generous as you are."

Fenrir smiled happily, "Wonderful! We're off to the round!" He took Trista's arm and led out of the Chocobo square. " Coming?" he asked Zack and Aeris innocently."

Garm, still quite struck by her beauty, replied with an almost awestruck air,"I would love to accompany you." He shook himself realizing he was talking to thin air. He turned and dashed off after Sabel and Kuroi. His long legged stride soon caught up with her. He jogged along side easily. " Do you battle?" He questioned in an effort to make conversation. Garm suddenly and irrationally wished he had paid a little more attention to Fenrir's flirting.... he sounded like a love-struck seventh grader, pimples, homework and all. He half expected to hear the stringent tones of his math teacher assuming he was Fenrir, had no homework, and was up to no good.

Valens nodded to the General knowing what he ment..."Thats why I want to join up with you I dont care how hard it gets..."He paused trying to choose his next words carefully"You are the reason I even tryed in the first place to join SOLDIER"
