Your trigger finger was the only thing holding you back from an easy stroll through the office building in your way. A few blast from the heavy gear packed inside the 1 meter wide diameter rocket launcher barrel would be sufficient enough. The team of Cor ahead of you retreated for some more cover after realizing what they were up against. There was no point in sticking around for a gun fight, that’s not what their squad was for. They had the footage they needed and direct orders changed they’re objective. The snipers took all of about 4 shots each at you until trying to change location. The Cor fought best in wide open areas like a field or desert but sadly for them came in third out of the three races for city battles. This terrain was by far the humans best. Telth had the edge in dense forests or wild terrain. This fact only hindered the pair of snipers’ ability to get to another angle for a shot before you were safely concealed within the walls of the next building. The gas rocketed jet packs mounted on their backs only got them to the next building and set up for another round at you but until then they had to wait. This gave them the perfect chance to com in any assistance they could need.

-Repeat: Telth unit 556 reporting for duty. This is 487513659, rolling supervisor sir. We are on route and waiting for coordinates to land. Is there anything you would like to convey to the telth before departure?- the Tithlitel officer communicated from his ship. With him were 6 separate units each made up of 8 telth. 3 of the groups were SWAT based. This consisted of a supervisor and 7 rifle carrying soldiers. 2 of the groups were demolitions based. This consisted of a supervisor in a havoc mech and 7 soldiers equipped with different heavy weapons. The last group was a recon based unit, consisting of a supervisor in a speeder mech and 7 units with snipers and jammers. The signal was faint because of the jamming but it still came through. If you replied you would jeopardize a hacking and let the Cor know there was a Telth army on the way. ((If you chose to reply, recommended, roll a 6 sided dice, if positive you were hacked, if negative it failed.))

Now that you nested safety within the wall of the second building you could see a few roads that ran parallel to each other and perpendicular to the main road behind you. The road most right of your position, closest to the snipers, ran the longest distance toward the base Troyce put into place. The other two didn’t even run half as long but did provide a lot more cover with buildings and such. The small radar, which was slightly fuzzy due to the jammer, suggested 5 targets posted up moving toward you down the road most to your right. 2 of the targets moved slower then the other 3.

The four sniper shots pinged off of Tozzar's mech as he proceeded across the street. Luckily the Cor in front of him where not foolhearted and had to sense to retreat away from his advance. When Tozzar reached the safety of the next building he smiled, his plan was working so far.

Suddenly the transmisson from the army of Telth rang into Tozzar's mind. That worked to his advantage. He knew there was probably a scanner trying to pick up any transmissions sent by Tozzar, but that was irrevelant. Right now he needed to get down through the alley to his right and meet up with his ride. If he signaled for them to land to the right of him then one of two things would happen.

One the troops would land unnoticed crushing the squad of Cor covering his position and he would be able to lead the army back to Troyce's base where they could proceed to crush the rest of the Cor rabble.

The other thing that could happen was that the Cor would find out about the approaching army; unless they have a mentally inept leader they will retreat and reform to deal with the army, thus giving Tozzar the time to flee the battle and escape towards the Capital Sytems.

-This is your commander, we are pinned down and cut off from out forces. He is the coordinates to our location. We need a danger close drop and immediate reinforcement. Drop all troops in the area and start to establish battle lines with the Cor forces.-

-Coordinates downloaded, we have your pin. Commander, you wish for all units to drop?- The officer asker in replay. It wasn’t really his place but this was very different from any drop procedure that he had encountered. Regardless, he did what he was conditioned to do. A few quick dials into a master computer and another set of commands given to the supervisors, the Tithlitel fleet carrier dispensed all 6 drop ships in the direction of the coordinates.

Within about a minute you could hear waves of explosions crack through the sky about 50 yards above you. Following that came gun fire from all over. Just above you, 6 drop ships swayed back and forth while unloading the squads. Each drop ship two electonut torrents, which are basic 180 degree view laser based torrents. You could see outside of the broken building telth soldiers land and then move into defensive positions. They were now awaiting further orders as the drop ships retreated to a safer location along the HQ that had been put up.

The Cor that scattered the area had backed off a bit, moving into hidden locations about the city. It didn’t take them long before they had scanned all the units that dropped and knew of their locations. The recon team had fled, but now it was time to pick up the heat. In any gun match a Cor weapon beat out a telth weapon. Tithlitel could afford to equip all of their soldiers with Scist style assault riffles (check pg 1 for details) while the Cor you were encountering had their Hearlds. Although your advantage was in the augments you set your soldiers to. They had the option of electro nuts, poison nuts, or ember nuts.

-There we go we are back online. Dowser here, you’re doing great kid. Now go find out who wants all this information and then kill them. It will be days before we get a ship there that can blow the whole city up so unless you find one that will do the trick you will have to make sure someone or something is protecting that area after you leave. - Dowser said sounding relived to hear your con connection came back through. -Oh doggy, here you go again Tozzar. Your area is marked hot. They mean business this time. –

Just then a group of your swat squads engaged a sudden drop of Cor in a court yard to your left. Your scanner showed a lot more movement coming down the main road. Looked like mechs.

Tozzar flipped his com code over to the channel with Troyce and called out -Troyce, how are things looking over there? 6 squads of Telth troopers just dropped on my position and we are fighting are way towards you. It seems the Cor have redeployed towards us. I need a status update on how you guys are faring-.

Tozzar fired over the Telth soldiers infront of him and aimed down the main road at the appoarching mechs. He switched back down the channel with the army soldiers.

-I don't know if you all have radars in your suits but we got a squad of mechs advancing towards us down the main road. The squad in the courtyard, how are you faring? Do you need reinforcement from another squad? If not then everyone else focus fire down the main road and try and crush these mechs before they can do major damage to us. We need to start advancing down the main road towards the base.-

-Squad leader speaking sir. That is a positive, we do need back up.- The leader of one of the SWAT teams said. They were experiencing enemy fire from three sides as two Cor swat teams hid within the buildings. Your Telth recon team had their back for the most part and did what they could to snipe the cor out of the building but it was probably more important that they set up a perimeter by moving to a better location to snipe. They responded to your first call to support the main road like the rest of the army.

-we are 100% Toblin. The base is all yours once you get here. I can tell there is something on your mind. What do you need?- Troyce said, feeling the rush from the fight going on at your end. His men and him self were ready to do whatever.

Your satellite radar showed three confirmed figures moving down the main road. They were coming slowly and looked to be bigger then the normal units faced so far. –Targets located commander; there are 3mechs and 4 cor. They have 2 Havocs and a Bertha. Seaith, I have no idea what that thing could be carrying- One of the snipers said. He was the first of the 8 to land on an adjacent building and had his scope trained to the moving tanks. The two Havocs on either side had a Omen in one appendage and a Johnson in the other. The Bertha in the middle had two Capital Powers and a flame thrower in the middle. They moved in a V formation –Do you want us to Jam them Commander?-

((doing this will need a roll higher then 4 form a 6 sided dice. If you get it right the Cor have no communication between each other. If you fail the mechs will know where everyone is at and find the snippers.))

Tozzar sat in his mech and stared at the screen for a moment. The approaching mechs where a problem. He also needed to reinforce the swat team in the courtyard. Troyce said that he and his men were fine in the base but if they left to come up on a counter attack from behind they could lose their base which would be detemental in the long run. Wait, did Tozzar even care about the long run? Wasn't he trying to leave as fast as possible. No...he needed to hold the city until UA forces could glass it. s**t that meant he had to put down the Cor attacks, which made his time all the more harder.

-Troyce stay in the base, we will need it in the long run. Keep it safe and secure at all costs. We cannot afford to lose it-

Tozzar switched over the squads.

-Do not attempt to jam, if we fail then they will locate and obliterate you before you can relocate. No I want you to wait till they are close enough to execute the Cor on foot. See them to their graves then relocate. Though you will not be falling back, instead I want to you pass by them undetected and set up behind them but do not engage. We are going to try and force them into a retreat, which is when you will pick them off.-

-I want a squad of troopers to move to the courtyard and support the Swat team there. Be swift and quick in dispatching the Cor squads there. Heavy team, you are to relocate to the roof of the building and start to rain down the fire on the V formation. Everyone else I want you to push into the street, through with cover and try and slow them down. Get as far out as you can, and fall back as they approach. We want to lure them into a sense of false victory and hope they get overconfident and underestimate us. Heavy squads I want you to hold fire till the rest of them finish retreating. I will be sitting in the builiding and will assist whatever group starts to experience difficulties.-

The army split off as commanded. While they got into position the V force was growing ever closer. The Bertha and its Cor escorts continued down the middle lane while the Havocs turned down side streets and were no longer in view. As soon as the bertha got within range of the building block its way a heavy gas smell filled the area. Then it flicked on the flame thrower and fire sprouted up all around your soldiers behind cover. The fire didn’t affect you as much with the cooling system in thee speeder. The Bertha came to a stop a few meters away and continuously rained fire in your direction.

The Havocs that split off moved quickly. Now that they weren’t escorting the Bertha they started into a sprint until the one on the left assisted the Co in the courtyard. Heavy fire was enough to get all the SWAT teams you ordered there to back off. They would have to move into the building to make any stand. The one on the right moved past all conflict and continued down the side road.

-We will hold here a little longer Toblin. I misjudged the danger here. You must understand Toblin but we cannot get caught up in this. I have orders and I must stick to them. This is Troyce out. I’m sure we will see each other again some time.- Troyce said before turning the link between he two of you off. The base would remain operational but something tells you your not going to like what Troyce is about to do.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 25, 2010 9:41 pm
Tozzar cursed to himself, that b*****d Troyce knew something was up and was trying to split. He couldn't let him get away from the planet. UA wanted them dead or captured and the bar burnt to the ground. Things always had a way of making themselfs more complicated didn't they?

-Heavy fire units, redeploy across the roof to hit the Havoc mechs as they emerge from the buildings towards the courtyard. They won't be expecting you guys to redeploy over there and the space is narrow and cramp leaving little room for them to move around. Hit em hard and fast. The rest of the courtyard teams fall back steadily, but keep up fire and the appearance of resistance. Squads to the front, as I said keep falling back as planned. I am going to take my Havoc through the buildings on the open side of us and try and circle around the Bertha.-

With that Tozzar moved to the left side of the build (the right side if the courtyard is on the left) and fire into the wall tearing it down. He moved through the side alley's as he made his way to get around behind the Bertha.

The heavy team moved in quickly over the roof tops and then fired down into the courtyard once the rest of the other telth squads had moved safely out of the way. Rockets and other bombastic explosives rained down on the courtyard, meeting the heavy Havoc with a hot greeting. The Cor conductor wasn’t going to go down without resistance. He did the best he could to get shots back with the Johnson. Four rockets mirrored the shots that came from your Heavy squad. Just before they hit the three of the four rockets exploded.
-Report. We have taken casualties. Our team attempted to interrupt the rocket fire but one got lose and killed a heavy. All other Telth are accounted for. The Havoc has been incapacitated. As for the Cor swat teams, they are retreating.- The squad leader of the recon team announced. They awaited further orders with anticipation to take out the fleeing cor.
Once the bertha saw that it had easily rooted your swat team to hiding behind cover, it dropped a stunning mine behind it and continued down the road to the left.
As soon as you left the building, the constant tapping over sniper fire cracked against the back of your havocs armor.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 02, 2011 5:06 pm
The Swat teams in the court yard reported success at pushing back the advancing Cor infantry. Tozzar smiled in his Havoc as they finished transmitting the message.

-Good work, now I want the heavy teams to return to the front of the building to try and slow the progress of the Bertha, keep pressure up on it. Swat teams, I want you to advance to the incapacitated Havoc and capture it. Then once that is secure advance through the courtyard and start to track the retreating Cor. Proceed with care, watch for traps and an ambushes.-

Snipe fire started to ping off of the heavy armor on the havoc's back. Tozzar laughed inside the cockpit, in the attack he had forgotten all about the snipers that had started the fight to begin with. Oh how quickly the heat of battle wrapped you up.

-Recon team, there are Cor sniper's in the area, hunt them out. Your rounds will be useless against the Bertha and the escort is not really a threat. Start scanning for snipers, I want them picked off-

One of the heavy troopers on the roof saw the Bertha place the stun mine in the road and radioed it in to Tozzar.

-Good work, I can easily avoid a simple stunning mine. My attack with be quick and feirce. When I strike at the Bertha and want all teams forward of the building to charge and engage the Bertha. Use whatever explosives, grenades, etc, you have to try and disable it. If that fails I want runners to get to the cockpit and try and hijack the Bertha. Understood?-

The fallen Havoc was easily swept up and put out of commission by your quick moving swat members. That was the one thing Telth had over all the other races, they were fast. Once the team had moved past the court yard and got on the other side of the building they where jammed. There was no communication and no radar. The Cor could be just inside and none of the Telth would know it. They had no idea they where jammed until after sitting a straggling Cor who had been injured and pursued. They called back to inform the citing after chasing the group for a bit and realized they had no link.

The Bertha would not be an easy target to take down. Even with so many telth hitting it. That armor was thicker then anything else in that city and could drive through a building if it wanted to. The stun grenade was easily dodged. It rolled off and exploded against an abandoned car and numbed out all of the electronics in the vehicle. As the teams closed in on it the bertha unfolded into its mech form and stood on tall, approximately 10m taller then the Havoc you were in. It continued with its constant stride further down the city, almost as if searching for something. The other Havoc was long gone.

Once the Bertha got hit with the first sets of rockets from your heavy team it seemed to spin around as if waiting for the location and unleashed a wave of its own set of rockets. The rockets encompassed the roof tops your heavy team stood and explosions went up everywhere. It was hard to know what happened. No update came threw.

The Bertha continued threw with its heavy assault by bringing one appendage down toward you as if to punch and then another snuck around the back to unleash another wave of fire. After a few more rounds of explosives being dealt in front of your mech, the Bertha toward its huge torso and then opened a hatch like a garage in the back and unloaded 2 squads of Cor down the street. They all ran for the nearest building. That just so happen to be on the left and a few buildings down from the bar entrance.

Meanwhile your snipers snuck to a hidden building that had a lot of factory type of pipes coming out of the top. It concealed their location well enough while giving a good view to make for perfect fire. It didn’t take long for the group to spot the 6 cor mounted up and simultaneously they where taken out. The team all together pulled the trigger, sending long-thin oiled nuts spiraling through the air at light speed and straight into the cranial cavities of the big footed bastards.

-The cor sniper squad has been annihilated. Further orders sir-
PostPosted: Tue Jan 04, 2011 7:54 pm
Everything but the Bertha were going good. They were winning on all the other fronts. But how to beat this blasted bertha? The thing was unstoppable it seemed. No matter what Tozzar did the thing didn't die. Would retreat be possible? Probably not, they need to get by it and to many would die during the charge. How then? Suddenly a stupid and ballsy idea dawned on Tozzar, one that seemed like a last ditch effort.

Tozzar thrust forward on the throttle putting the Havoc into full speed aimed at one of the Berth'a legs. Tozzar meant to knock it over and hope that would give his troops all the edge they needed to finish it.

-Everyone aim for the relaeased troops-

-Troyce if you are there we could use reinforcement with heavy arrangements-

The impact of you Havoc hit a high enough speed just in time to pull it off. The force of you mech crashing against the Bertha cut its right leg out from underneath of it. Its heavy torso crumbled to the right side, getting within centimeters of crushing you and your havoc. Not that it would have needed to because your mech was completely destroyed. The auto eject system came into effect on impact and set you in a small two wheeled motor bike at the side of the ruble.

The Bertha attempted to get up using 4 of its arms and continued to attack you with the open flame thrower arm. The fire gave more than enough activation energy to ignite all of the molted oils in the totaled mech to send everything within a few meters up into flames. The explosion was pretty intense, starting as a wild green and then causing smaller blue like explosions randomly all over. The red hot flames didn’t settle until the smoke cleared and covered the bertha. It swayed and jerked in all directions until finally the cooling system set in and doused everything, leaving the Bertha inches away from death. The explosion set you flying backward and into one of the buildings behind you bike first. The glass shattered and collapsed all around you.

No one was able to catch up to the cor teams until after they were secure in the buildings. The only one to respond was the sniper team who dispatched to ground level to assist you.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 08, 2011 11:19 am
Tozzar crawled out from the ejection bike, it had been charred in the explosion. Pulling a piece of glass from one of his tentacles Tozzar looked around at the room around him. The explosion had given him some shell shock and he heard a loud constant ringing in his ear. Tozzar looked over his body to make sure that he wasn't seriously injured, nothing aside from minor scratches and burns stuck out to him. Satisfied that he was a fine he moved to look at the sight of the two burning mechs, the loss of the havoc would be a major disadvantage; however they had to kill the Bertha. Tozzar didn't have any regret about the decision.

Suddenly the Cor in the building opposite from him. Their rounds pinged off the door frame he was standing in. Diving back into the building to avoid getting hit by their small arms. Calling for positions Tozzar started to develop the next part of his plan. Now that the tactical threat was destroyed they could finish off these Cor fighters and make it to Troyce. That was the next problem, what to do about Troyce. How could he keep him here until UA arrived. What if Troyce had been arrested? He had an army to do it. That was the perfect idea. Tozzar turned his com to Dower's number and radioed up his UA contact.

"Hello, Dowser? This is Tozzar. I am still engaged in combat with these Cor pirates, the fight is going good. I do have a simple request for you. I have devised a way to capture the men who are involved with the information pertaining to UA. I am going to have the army you sent me arrest them for assisting the Cor in their invasion. Obviously this is false but if you could send me some coded messages talking of the Cor attack then I could claim I intercepted them from Troyce and his men. That way the soldiers will heed my order to lock em up and I can keep them safe until I can transfer them to you guys at the UA for "questioning"

While he let Dower consider and respond to this Tozzar switched to his units frequency, "Okay now I want the squads in and and around the building to form a U shape assault. I want the bend to be pushing forward with the curves arching back to the building. Press through these buildings clearing them of remaining Cor fighters. Snipe team meet up with me and we will make our own hunt while we wait for the others to catch up."

-I read ya Tozzar. The evidence you will need is being downloaded to your file now. It should be ready in a few minutes. Be careful with that evidence though. Read over it before using it because he may be ready to attack you back. He was a mamber of telth investigations you know. He might be too witty to take down that way. Whatever you try though, good luck. You have some time to go so don't rush anythign either.- Dowser said. He sounded frustrated.

The remainder swat teams that you controlled followed close behind you once they formed up. The Cor teams had vanished from both your radar and from view. The last you saw of them was the group moving more south through the buildings. They were heading for the bar.
