He does not believe in mistakes. Or rather, he refuses to admit he makes them. This leads him to be the type to make the best of every situation, and try his hardest to see the good in each and every moment. After all, why would he have gone willingly into a bad moment? Therefore, wherever he is, whatever the situation, it is exactly what he intended all along. Isn't he brilliant?
As for his vanity, well... He does not strive to be better then anyone else, he strives, instead, to be better then he was. He wants to be the most handsome him possible. He does not think anyone is better or worse looking then he is, and he has no need to put anyone down, or try to be just like anyone else. His perfection is his, your perfection is yours. If everyone had the same ideals, he feels the world would be a very boring place indeed. Whereas, how can you ever know yourself, if you are forever trying to either be some one else, or be what some one else wants, how would you ever get to know the wonders of who you are? Really, he thinks everyone trying to live up to the ideals of others is just silly, really, a waste of time. Now, tell him how gorgeous he is, so we can move on.
