Personality
Kind and compassionate, though these qualities are sometimes over-looked due
to his stern way of speaking and over-protective manner in which he treats his
daughter (which sometimes comes off as harsh). He fears that his daughter will
end up like his mate if she over exerts herself, and because of this Rajua has a
tendency of not allowing her to play with other cubs or explore. He is outspoken
in his opinions and beliefs, and wishes that none of the pride was allowed to
leave the lands, though he knows it's important to gather outside resources.
History
Rajua did not always want to be a healer, nor had he always wanted a family or
a life within the pride. When he was much younger he spent most of his days
playing with the other cubs, getting into trouble and trying not to cause too much
ruckus when there seemed to be a swell in the sick pride members. His parents
were both carriers; he seemed to be one of the lucky pride members that was
passed over by the sickness. He never brought this up while speaking to others
though, thinking it would be poor taste.
He was an adolescent when he first met his would-be mate, and she was just a
cub. Of course there were no romantic feelings at first, but no matter how many
times he'd tell the little lioness cub to leave him alone and stop following him she
would just keep at it, even on the worst of her sick days. It was then that he
decided to begin learning the art of healing. As he gained knowledge of the art
and the little lioness started to grow up, he found he did not mind so much when
she'd keep 'bothering' him or spend time with him. He has always strived to find a
cure for the lions of his pride, and for a long time all of his inspiration and energy
came from the love he carried for the female.
When they became mates he thought nothing could make him happier, but it
seemed for her that this was not the case. She strived to have a family, to birth
cubs. He argued against this, stating that they could be happy together even if it
was just the two of them. Often he found his words hurt her and made her
believe that he did not love her with his whole heart, so finally he gave in.
The birth of their children was a very sad one, as it caused his mate's already
weak health to lower more and for her to pass on. Afterwards two of his cubs did
not make it, leaving him only with his young daughter. He feels both blessed and
cursed by his daughter, and while she is his whole entire world he can not help
but feel bitterness and resentment toward her on some of the colder nights.

Personality
Atilla is found to be adventurous, charming, outgoing and more than a little reckless. He tends to take small naps in random places, and will fall asleep without hesitation because he's very lazy and dislikes responsibility. He relies on Imre to make decisions and trusts the other male fully. Atilla is likely to be very affectionate to both Imre and any females who take an interest in the two males, unafraid of acting 'cute' or 'cuddly'. He is very confident of himself and his abilities, and though he doesn't take offense to others' comments often he also knows if someone goes to far that he can hold his own in a fight... as long as he decides it isn't that bothersome.
History
Atilla and Imre grew up in the same pride, and as children were always sticking close to each other. Imre helped Atilla by not only giving him endless encouragement, but also doing small chores and such for the dusty pelted lion. He covered for him when he was off napping and didn't let others talk poorly of him. As for Atilla, he was also a constant source of compliments for Imre, and acted as a sort of buffer in social situations. He was quick to 'fight' those who tried to pick on Imre for his shyness, which was much greater when the boys were younger, even though it meant punishment every time. Fighting was looked down upon in their pride.
When they were both juveniles something terrible happened; Imre and his family were moving away! The pride that the boys came from strongly encouraged males to have more than one female mate, all working and living as a family. It was also common in the pride for two males to form a deep bond, a special bond that would make the pride consider these males 'brother-mates', (normally not a romantically linked bond) and as such would share females between them. In any case, Imre's parents were mated and had no wish or want to bring in another female to their family dynamic. His parents had grown up in the pride, had been accepting of the pride's practices, and had been expecting this to happen to their family dynamic. Somewhere along the line though they realized they only loved one another, and took their family (Imre comes from a first litter, one of four cubs) and moved away from the pride.
Atilla was very upset about this, even though he was more social and had more friends in the pride he'd come to see Imre as his best friend, even in such a short time. Coming from such a large family (from a second litter, one of six cubs. His father's first litter was from a different female and was one of three cubs. Growing up along side him was another female's litter, luckily small with just two cubs) it was hard to ever stand out or feel special, and Imre gave him that possibility. He vowed while young that he would grow up and go in search of Imre! As he grew though he often made excuses because he figured it was much too hard to find one lion in all the world. An idea hit him though, especially with his birth mother always telling him stories of her brother that he looked exactly like. He decided he would make his journey about searching for the Kusini'Mwezi Pride instead of searching for his friend, but always keep Imre in the back of his mind.
He left the lands when he was an adolescent, and still hasn't gotten to the Kusini'Mwezi (horrible sense of direction paired with overwhelming laziness does this) but he has run into Imre! Their connection was almost reformed at once, and the boys have been traveling together since. They recently joined the Pridelands, and have decided to make it their permanent residence.

Personality: Easy going and born to follow, Pilindiel has always been the perfect soldier. To an extent many believe she should have been born a male, for the crude ways she flirts with males (and females!) alike, her swaggering confidence and her belief than males and females are perfectly equal in all things, including physical strength. She is cheerful and loyal, respects those higher up than her even when she dislikes their decisions. Though this has begun to be a point of conflict for Pilin, and she's been struggling to remain who she always thought she was; a loyal soldier to the Aristocrats.
Rebel or Loyal?: Loyal
Prompt # and Reply: Pilindiel had not always been a soldier, and at some point in her earlier life she'd never dreamed of serving the aristocrats. No one in her family, extended or immediate, had ever been soldiers. In fact, many of her family opposed what the aristocrats were doing. She was born from a line of fishers and ferriers, all common folk. Pilindiel was just hitting adolescence when she decided that she would fully devote herself to ferrying others across the waters, never mind fishing. On one trip though, it seemed fate had different plans for her. She'd been bringing some aristocrats over to the islands, though this trip did not end as smoothly as others. When they reached the colonist's lands it seemed some colonists were inclined to rid the area of the over-baring, unfair and disliked aristocrats. It was just a small group of three, and when Pilindiel's raft landed they took it upon themselves to try and attack the two Aristocrats she'd been ferrying. Instinct took over; these were her higher ups, the lions she respected and envied. These were lions that needed to be protected at all costs, they were not worthy of deaths at the hands of rebel scum. Pilin killed one of the offenders and had wounded another before some of the aristocrat soldiers were able to make it on scene, silencing the other two. The 'battle' had left Pilin badly injured, but alive. Those she had been protecting were fairly unscathed, though she could see the male had his leg hurt pretty bad before she'd been able to kill the leopard that had attacked.
It was on that day that the aristocrats, or at least their soldiers, took and interest in Pilindiel. So it was put forth that she join the soldiering ranks, which seemed to her a high honor for a cheetah of a family of fishmongers and ferrymen. Still, it would mean leaving her family and pledging her service and loyalty to the aristocrats. By now many had hinted their displeasure of the way things were handled, but Pilindiel believed that this was just the way things were. This was what she was born into, this was what she knew and this was how life was. So three suns next she took up the offer, proud to give her services to the aristocrats at such a young age. |
