Khin'del should have perhaps asked his mate is she was alright with him putting himself into such danger, but at the moment his mind was not in the most rationale of places. No doubt right now he full and well intended to speak with Moto'Seide as soon as this gathering ended.

He looked down to his daughter beside him;
"You will remain here, safe, you here me?" It was an order that was delivered most firmly.

Celosia knew though that it was not without love. In fact, it was all about love.

"But father, I..." She started to argue, but his hard stare made her stop, "Yes, father." She lay her head back on her paws, defeated.

((Okay, part of my replies may seem... Disjointed compared to the whole RP... xd ;;; I went to work after my last post, so I'm JUST getting to these replies xd ; ))

Kaelyndra

Savitri's hackles raised as her nostrils flared. She started to open her mouth, closed it a moment, opened it again, then let out a menacing snarl. "I find it absolutely DEPLORABLE that someone who knows nothing about being a MOTHER..." She felt a paw on her shoulder and turned sharply, only to meet bright green eyes.

The young lioness shook her head. "Enough, Mother, I think it's time to keep your maw shut, before anything bad happens." She turned to Seide. "Though I implore you to think of the fact she speaks as a mother, with cubs. She's thinking of her children first, because they're precious." She then ushered Savitri and the two juveniles away, before the older lioness ignited any more anger.

Thalion

Kosuke could only let out a hm, before turning to listen to Morag. He couldn't help but smile. "A Firekin to the core if I ever saw one..." Patiently, the lion listened to everybody, slowly turning everything over in his head. After a moment, he scratched some imaginary itch under his mane, contemplating everything. He shifted, hearing Moto'spaki's words. "Shula and I have two birds, eagles. We can send them out... And hopefully they don't have themselves a mid-air romp..." He let out a clucking chuckle, before Kenta landed on his shoulder and tugged at his mane. "Oh, I know you're thinking it!" He nudged the bird with a paw. All things considered, he was acting rather... Jovial, given the situation. He then rose up, stretching. "On the matter of cubs... I have a proposal! In the event that the pride's center actually proves unsafe... We temporarily relocate them to an allied pride. They'd be accompanied by adults of the pride, and sent back at adolescence, of course, so they KNOW the ways and what's expected of them... But that's only an IF." He paused, glancing around at everybody. "And knowing a fair few of you share Makadari's blood, I highly doubt we'll ever need that 'if'." He held his tongue on the matter of Finar-si, wise enough to not mention her and how disappointed she might be with the pride.

Savitri padded over to Kosuke and Ali, finding some council between them. She let out a huff, glaring over her shoulder toward her cousin. "Pompous..." She let out a low growl. "How'd she get to a position of power, anyway? I'm older than her, and ALL of my cousins..."

Kosuke glanced over at the lioness he saw as a second mother. "Because she WORKED for it." He then reached up, patting her head. "Now calm down and go keep Father company... So he doesn't blabber about flowers and rainbows and hippy stuff..."

The white lioness' eyebrow went up, before she looked over at Sinbad. After a moment, she sighed and sat next to him. "Well, at least these two cubs may get along with him..." They seemed to really show their Pridelander blood, so... Calm and nice... The fire'd grow eventually, though.

No mother wanted to see their child pass before they did.

No mother would allow that to happen with out getting revenge.

At this point Azar the normally level headed and calm Brigadier was furious. Furious wasn't even really a word that could contain the rage that was built up in the large lioness. Although grown Azar was close and very protective of her large litter of children. Normally the lioness would avoid the idea of war. She was pretty quiet for most of the activities, angrily pacing in the back of the group. She was so angry her voice would shake when she talked, this had been happening for the last few days now. She mostly stayed in her den mourning, but her mourning wasn't exactly a sad one. One of her sons died at some one else's hands and she did not like that at all. Especially when she was not even that old, and when she cared about her children so.

She paced and listened occasionally letting out a growl of agreement until she heard volunteers called. Her ears perked and she turned to the side. She was already counting herself into this fight, she took her role as a Brigadier seriously, no matter how angry or upset she was she was going to fight for her pride and this time it was much more personal than her pride. She wanted Revenge. She pushed her way through the crowd to the front turning toward her mother and speaking clearly and loudly. "I want to be the first that they see, and then the last that they will ever see." She turn toward her mother then and settled by her side flicking her tail around. She would love to see some one challenge her on that idea. She flicked her tail around. She wanted to be the first lion to dig her claws and her teeth into anything. There was not going to be anything that waas going to get in her way. No other lion. She wanted revenge, an eye for an eye and to her there was no other answer.

Kakek was quiet, and had been nothing but quiet for the last few days.

The normally cheerful and sweet lion had been with his brother when he passed. Kakek never left his brother's side the entire time that he was in the wards. And Kakek was tired at this point. He hadn't slept much at all. He never even really thought about it. He was a little hungry and thirsty however he didn't care at all. He hadn't even seen his children in the past few weeks. He didn't want them to see him like this. He had talked to Kasi making sure she understood, he had plans and like his mother he wanted revenge. However he was much more quiet about his thoughts. He told his mother and his aunts that his brother had passed. He also told Fia that Kakek wanted his picture drawn on the history stones, he told his 'mate' that he wasn't going to talk and then after that he took a vow of silence until he could get revenge for his brother. He would answer with an occasional yes or no but otherwise he refused in any way to talk about anything.

He turned toward his father that he was standing by and then looked to his mother. He wanted to fight too. He was exhausted but he knew he just needed some rest. He was a guard but he could fight and he was more than willing to. He looked at his father and then nodded as he started to move to the front of the group. Then however he heard his cousin speak and as he did he turned toward her. He thought about it. He had three cubs that were around and waiting for him to come home. There were three cubs that would need him. He was torn he knew that his children would need them but at the same time it was his brother. his children were his legacy and they would carry on his blood. Kasi had a large family that could help and he had a large family that could help raise his cubs. Although the idea of it was terrifying he knew a few things for sure. His brother wasn't a fighter and was unfairly attacked, his brother was one of the most bright lions that he had ever met and was a hard worker but to Kakek most importantly his brother didn't have a legacy that could be carried on. Before his brother could spread his genes he was killed. Not long after growing a mane he was killed and for that Kakek was willing to risk what he had.

He turned forward and started to march toward the others that were volunteering themselves and with that he took a bow.

Even Khin'del had to admit that Azar had more of a front row seat for revenge than he. She was Nur'yu's mother, after all. And he wouldn't deny her that right. He couldn't. Not when he, too, sought the same thing. It wouldn't be fair.

But them Kekek... Khin'del lept forward after him with a growl and griped his tail in his mouth to halt his steps.

"Don't think I'd let you go too. You have children. Be the father that Nur'yu will never get to be." Khin'del was sure Azar felt the same. Although it wouldn't be the first time he thought such and been wrong.

The dark lioness settled back as she listened to the Regents, her family and the rest of the pride get their say in what was going to happen and how everyone would be involved. She didn't like this... sure, the pride was one of warriors, but to make war on southern prides that had done nothing to them? And all the while, the threat in the North seemed all but ignored... Even the plan for the birds seemed scattered and failed from the start. It was better than sending lions to their deaths, but she didn't see what they could find out that would be of any use to them.

She glanced around from her one good eye, taking the temper of those around her. Morag knew that at this point, in her condition, she would not be allowed to become a sentinel and join the others on the journey south. Which... suited her just fine, actually. She didn't care to attack those who had no quarrel with them and instead, stay here and keep a watch out for treachery.

"I will be staying here, I believe." She said, almost to herself. It still irked her to be among the injured, but she wouldn't be forever, with or with out her eye. And when that time came, she would be here, protecting her homeland.

Ali Baba turned his attentions to the debate and the many ideas presented. Expanding would mean more territory, more resources, and of course more borders to worry about. There were pros and cons to both sides of that particular thought that the leaders seemed to have a good grasp on. It would be needed, however, if they were to win any conflict against the enemies on the borders. All internal strife aside, there was a common enemy with Safi and Simo blood on their claws alike, and both sides wanted justice.

Perhaps this was an opportunity... they would need more soldiers to cover the expanded areas. Those that proved themselves there would work themselves a little further into the good graces of the pride.

"If my fellows are with me-", he glanced meaningfully to Kosuke then again over to Savitri, "We can assist in gaining this new ground for the pride. And holding it for as long as we must. If we can all agree on something it's this- we won't win a war if we're dying of thirst, if we cannot afford to bring up new families and expand our numbers, and if our wounded never recover. We need to expand to survive. Spying and slinking about be damned until we have a foothold to stand on."

Sinbad shook his head slowly. It was all too much. Everyone was crying out for a blood-price on the dead and wounded. Everyone was thirsty, hurt, angry, or grieved. It would only bring more pain if they decided to pick a fight with the outsiders. It would stretch their numbers over too much territory if they expanded.

"We should try to be civil..."

When Ali Baba raised his voice to speak, Kalama actually looked at him and those he was with for the first time since gathering. Oh, that was pretty funny. She sometimes forgot about her family in these lands. Two cousins and her... uncle. Was it really her uncle who was talking about being civil? She might say something, but didn't feel he deserved such attention.

The red lioness knew nothing of what had happened to him, not being particularly close to her family. It wasn't really meant as an insult, Kalama just wasn't very close to anyone. She, too, had been raised a traditionalist, but was a rather practical creature, and did things according to use. Lately, her family hadn't struck her as very useful.

...Still, her uncle's behavior was curious enough to get her attention. Maybe she should catch up with them sometime. "I too will assist." It wasn't like she really had anything else to do. And if her cousins were going, the whole thing seemed perfect for some 'family bonding'.

There was so many different opinions and ideas being thrown about, but the main focus now seemed to be the idea of expanding, potentially into areas that belonged to other Prides. Teketeza liked this idea, as although it would mean that fighting the Nergui would be put on hold, it meant they could fight someone else in the meantime. It would give him a chance to sharpen his skills, not that he really felt they needed sharpening. Now that he was officially a Soldier, he felt as though there was no stopping him.

The fact that they would have to put fighting the Nergui on hold was frustrating to him, as he stood by his opinion that the longer they left it, the longer the Nergui would have to prepare. When the time did come to fight them though, he would be one of the first to get in line, he was sure of it.

When Sinbad, his Grandfather on his father's side, spoke up, he let out a sarcastic snort. Civility? What had civility gotten them recently? He was going to say something about it, but he decided against it, as he didn't want to get into another argument with his father like they did over Morag. Instead, he just focused on the Regents. "How long do we reckon it's going to take for us to expand our territory and get our forces back to full strength? I know we can't know an exact time, but surely we need to set some sort of deadline to achieve all this by?"

Hratchouhi found herself a little lost and somewhat reserved amongst all the angry voices and calls for revenge. As they continued to discuss the idea of finding water elsewhere, even if that meant taking it from other Prides, she didn't find herself coming round to the idea at all. She kept telling herself that it would be for the best, but she just wasn't convinced that taking water by force was the answer.

When Sinbad spoke up, the red lioness let out a small sigh of relief. Someone had spoke up against the violence, which meant that hopefully the Pride would consider other options. Although she had heard rumors and such in regards to Sinbad's current state of mind, she had never been nosey enough to look into them. He seemed perfectly fine to her. "I agree with Sinbad." She said, offering him a small smile. "Violence might not be the answer. Perhaps if we went to a Pride who has plenty of water, they would be willing to share?"

The discussion seemed to be in full flow when Ukuba arrived, joining Thabiti and Tswana at their side. His brother Isifo had opted to remain in the Red Quarter, which was why Ukuba had chosen not to come to the meeting originally. His brother had assured him that he would be OK though, and so he decided to see what was going on.

"What has been said so far?" He asked Thabiti and Tswana, in the common tongue that the Firekin spoke. He figured that if they were seen to be whispering in their Native language at the back of the group, it would only insight paranoia.

Kosuke shot a glance at Sinbad, narrowing his eyes. "Oh, stop about the civility thing! The time for civility is NEVER applicable to the Firekin!" His attention then turned to Teketeza. Soleil had told him aplenty about the conflict with her half-brother. Frankly, it made him proud. His children were all as hot-headed as Firekin should be. "I say we do it seven moonrises from now. That gives us time to organize, put affairs in order, and decide where we strike first."

"What of our allies? I'm afraid," Rashmi said, "That I haven't paid enough attention to who they are because I've been out hunting. Maybe they can give us water until we find a new source..." Maybe it was the Pridelander blood she believed herself to have, but she was willing to attempt civility. It was, at the least, worth a SMALL shot. "Surely we have somebody willing to harbor us for a while while we search!"

Ali Baba offered a short glance in Kalama's direction and gave a short nod in thanks for the support. Kosuke hadn't spoken up on whether or not he would join them but he could pull his brother aside later. He had a lot on his mind and certainly a large enough family to justify staying behind. Ali had no attachments, no one to fret about leaving behind... save for his father. Even that was more a matter of the lion embarrassing himself, and the family, with his nonsense.

"You're making no sense." He grumbled over to Sinbad. Hratchouhi's response only added kindle to the ailed lion's delusion. Sneering, he shook his head, "Ignore his nonsense. He's lost his wit. We need to keep ours about us."

Sinbad offered Hratchouhi a grateful smile and hunched back away from his son and the prying, curious eyes around him. Many seemed shocked or confused at his response. "...I just think it should be considered is all."

To the caracal, peace was relative. If there was enough small game and enough water, regardless of the political state of affairs in the land, his life was peaceful. If three wasn't enough, regardless of how he or they went about obtaining it, it was not peaceful to him. Civility had little to do with peace, to his mind. Not that he'd dare speak up. This conference was not for the likes of him to input.

He hunkered down atop the rock, grateful that the large male beside the rock ignored him. He curled his half-tail around himself and watched the lions as they discussed, argued, and bickered. What was to come of it all? He angled his ears backwards. It seemed to him if they were going to take action, they should do it promptly. All this discussion wasn't likely to get any of the pride anywhere.

The Firekin who she had adressed earlier had a flared temper. It was of little surprise, and while Seide listened to the young lioness afterwards, as she always did, she said nothing to the pair.

A voice called out over the sands, and Moto'Seide searched for a moment before locating the source. "We will remain close at first. Our biggest priority will be water and following that it will be information. We will be taking note of and interacting with groups that we encounter.

"Therefore, you will need to be diplomats as well as warriors. Do not volunteer expecting to charge out onto the sands for blood and victory."

Souzan listened to the legate speak, mis-matched green eyes attentive, thoughtful. He had already volunteered to go out beyond the borders and now he knew just who he had to see about doing so. He just hoped his youth didn't hinder his attempt, for although he was young, he knew he could be useful and after all, other adolescents in other lands went out on quests and other such things... this would be his quest, to make himself stronger and to make his pride stronger.

Nodding to himself he stood and started to weave his way slowly through the crowd towards the legate, though he didn't approach her, instead he sat back down again, close but not too close... enough that he could watch and listen to her and hopefully catch her after the meeting ended and ask about becoming one of these 'sentinels'.

Elda's usually stoic face brightened with interest as Seide came forwards to speak. The change did not go unnoticed by her friend who turned curious eyes up to her and smiled a little.

"Interested in the new job? Then go. Volunteer. It's about time you showed some interest in applying your skills to furthering your career."

Elda turned to glare at Su, but all that uttered forth was a loud snort. She was not doing this for herself or for her career. She wanted to do this for her pride. For Seide, too. In fact, mostly for Seide. She had gathered her paws to stand and move forwards - so that she could be there when the rest of this conversation was done - when questions rang out.

She stilled herself then, turning her head to flick her eyes over those who were also showing interest. And then Seide spoke up again and Elda faltered. She was no diplomat. She just carried out orders. Perhaps she might be better off staying here after all. Yes...she didn't want to get into a situation she wasn't equipped for.

But as she staggered back a step, Su was there, shoving her forwards. "I believe Elda here wishes to offer her services to support you, Legate."

Elda looked horrified, turning her head and curling a lip to fend off her 'friend'. But the little female simply batted her eyelids and slipped away back into the crowds. And, not wanting to say otherwise, the placid warrior strode forwards to take her place even closer to where Seide was.

--

Kidondo - still standing beside No - watched the proceedings quietly, glad to allow Seide to control the crowd. And, as Azar came and sat next to her mother, declaring her will to fight, he felt his heart stir with sadness again. She had lost a son and he a grandson and now it seemed as if another of their children also wanted to put himself in danger. But he could understand it. He felt that urge, too, though he would have to resist it. And yet, whilst he understood Kakek's view, he also sympathised with Khin'del. Kidondo probably would have done the same in his position, though he didn't think he would have been able to stop any of his children from doing as they pleased. They always had been stubborn. The trait, apparently, did not thin amongst the younger generations.

"There is no shame in staying behind." He spoke up. "These lands still need protecting and the job of those that stay here will be no less difficult or dangerous in these unknown times. It would be foolish to think that those who remain here are any safer than those who are moving out to secure new water supplies."

To his daughters' words he said nothing. He wasn't sure she was in any right frame of mind to be taking on such a task, especially with blood on her mind, but could he deny her that right? Could he say no? Quietly, so that Azar, Khin'del and Kakek could hear, he said: "The time for vengeance is not now. Not yet. But that time will come. I promise you that."

The Firekin had never had 'allies'. They had always stood alone. It was their way. The world was turning, it seemed. Times of change were upon them again.

"They talk of sending spy to Nergui." The dark lion replied, his local tongue still requiring work. In fact, should he have the time, he intended to work on it more, but he didn't think he'd be fluent as Ukuba was. He was hopeful that Ukuba, the wiser one, would be able to piece information together and actually offer good advice to these Fire-kin lions on what to do. At least, one that would actually be considered. "They say they need water before they attack Nergui. This give time for Nergui to grow and ready for fight. If they send spy, spy will die. They say they send bird." He tried his best to retell what was going on, opting to answer his brethren in the tongue he questioned in. Looking about, he noticed that Isifo wasn't with him like the two symbiotes were usually. Perhaps he needed the rest. With a large frame as Isifo, he would have called it quits a long time ago to rest and recover. Luckily, he had Isifo's height with Ukuba's frame.

"They must think this through."
