Despite the crowd and the distraction of opening speeches of the ceremony that was finally getting under way Chenai didn't fail to notice the dark shape striding towards her. No matter how long she'd been away from home she would have recognized the faces of her littermates anywhere. A bit embarrassed to be caught hiding towards the back of the theatron, but equally as surprised that her brother seemed capable of reading her thoughts the pale lioness ducked her head sheepishly. Offering Dohzou a small, but fond smile, Yea.. I haven't been home long. Seems like I returned just in time for the excitement, though.. kind of glad.
Glancing around Chenai added wryly, I would have been rather upset to have missed such an important event. How are things here?

(sorry for the wait on these guys)"It sounds like you've had a lot of experience being around strong-willed females." Lady Ming. Ah yes. The name was familiar with Bai Bo, though he had never actually met her before. He'd not much stepped outside of East since he had arrived in the lands; having forsaken his own pride as an adolescent all that time ago.
"It looks like Sida has found her." Thank goodness, he added silently. Perhaps now he could make a hasty getaway and forget the whole accident had ever happened. Trust him to hurt some poor fellow like this! "I suppose this is where I should take my leave..."
He trailed purposely, hoping that he would be excused so that he didn't feel so rude for doing so himself."I would say so, indeed." Ping agreed with the black and white fellow. "Royal Knight is a most honourable duty indeed. You should be proud of achieving it and I have no doubts that you will. You must send word when it happens! I'd love to be able to congratulate you and I'd be most willing to step outside of East for a visit."
Her eyes brightened with interest at his words. "The outside?" Her eyes turned automatically to seek her father - who had been born in another pride, himself. Unfortunately, Bai Bo was deep in conversation and wasn't able to meet her eyes. "Do you think it might be interesting to do? Have you ever been in the outside world?"
And when he sat the bushbuck before her she made a show of fluttering her eyelashes and thanking him. "I am so very grateful, Ping." She smiled a little at the use of his name and took a moment to savour the scent before taking a few careful bites. She didn't want to get her mouth too full, especially seeing as she still wanted to speak. "My father came from the outside lands but he doesn't speak about it much. I have a brother who left, too. I've never understood it myself but then I've not heard too many stories."

"Luckily for you, father is here as well. So we can all go home when this is over. It would be nice to sprawl out, the trip, I imagine, will be taxing knowing father." Dohzou jested as he returned a fair smile to his sister. He had forgotten how much she had grown. Looking upon himself, he had grown quite a bit himself. Not as tall and stock as Xun or his father, but he was still proud of his progress. If she had returned then that would mean that she had fulfilled her quest! The thought made the young duke smile with pride in his sister. "Now that you have returned what role shall you take when we go home, sister?" He asked, genuinely innocent of his sister's plight. "I am a rising guard, at this rate, I might take over royal guard or even major! I'd have to talk to uncle Si Wang and father about that..."

Lucky? Chenai didn't see what was so lucky about it. Her father would probably be expecting her to have some trinket of her adventures in the rogue lands and, besides a number of bruises and some bite marks that were beginning to heal her paws were empty. It was embarrassing to say the least, but the idea of traveling home with her family made her chest warm with contentment. She had missed them greatly while out on her own. Smiling faintly as Dohzou complained about their militaristic father with a fondness that was familiar.
All his children spoke of their father in the same way, hard a lion as he was, they all knew he meant the best for them. Chenai's smile dropped almost instantly at the following question. What role? What role indeed! She hadn't even considered that! Was there even a role in the North house that she could effectively fill without making it completely evident how hopelessly out of place she was under a domain that highly regarded the strength of one's body and mind. Slapping her forehead in exasperation, Uuugh! I.. I didn't even... I have no idea!

"Well, since Xun has became Lord, some new things have gone into place..." Dohzou added, hoping to make choices easier for her sister. Since she had been gone for so long, she wouldn't be aware of the plans that the new Lord had intended to put into place when he officially took the position with the Empress's blessing. "OH! Yeah, that's right, brother Xun has inherited Lordship from father recently. You should really go talk to him, best bet would be on the way back when he isn't so wound up." The younger brother glanced over his shoulder at his brother who sat beside their behemoth sized father with similar positions; head high, chest out, head leveled and proper. Guy needed to relax. "All members of the House are expected to be able to know the role of a Hunter, to be able to gather food for one self even if you aren't on duty. Plus, you could gather food for others if you should choose. It's so everyone has the basic training in case something ever happens. And that's just the start. Xun is thinking of changing father and mother's system so we could get promotions." Dohzou was actually excited by the idea. Granted, he was eavesdropping when the Lord had presented the idea to the leaders. By leaders, he meant their parents.

Zhong Zhilan was such a quiet lioness that it was hardly surprising that she had melted into the background of the wedding. However, it was all rather thrilling to the small purple lioness. She rarely moved out and about as she was a weak lioness to begin with and had been throughout her childhood, but the royal wedding was something she would never desire to miss! She imagined that while there would be more in the future, there wouldn't nearly be one as important as the one she was going to witness now. The whole thrill of marriage and politics enchanted her, but her interest remained silent. It wasn't entirely unexpected, since she could not push herself to great physical excursion that she'd take an interest to things that taxed her mind rather than her body.
She scanned the crowd for her family, which was large enough and distinct enough that she could spot some of their purple pelts in the midst of other lions. She seemed simply content with having spotted them, because she made no move to go greet them. She was a young lady now, there was no reason for her to cling to her siblings. She was independent! Zhong Zhilan considered herself fairly capable of showing a subtle streak of independence.
So, as the wedding began to start she sat in awed silence, tailed curled around her legs, sitting up straight and proper like a lady. It was good that the gathered lions stopped talking when Ting Lan appeared on the stage, because Zhong Zhilan was sure she would not have heard the lioness otherwise. Here was the Empress, and she felt absolutely giddy to be a part of the wedding, even if it was as a spectator. There was a whole feel of importance to the event that made Zhong Zhilan feel involved!

Xun became Lord? Repeating the words with marked surprise, Chenai grinned wryly at her brother. She didn't know her older siblings all that well, but that wasn't much of an excuse to be completely unaware of what was going on in their lives. Apparently a lot really had changed. Whatever the point of the announcement had been, it at least got the duchess' mind off her future in the pride for a while, nodding in agreement. You're right, I'll have to congratulate him when I get a chance.
A chance most likely being later in the evening, given the way Xun and their father sat so regally, engaged in the opening of the ceremony Chenai was reluctant to bother either one of them now. Turning a wary look at Dohzou the pale lioness tried not to seem too grim at the thought of hunting training. It wasn't that she couldn't hunt, only that she'd proven to be about as adept at it as she was at flying. Admittedly, she liked the idea of a promotion even less. Chenai shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near the guards or tacticians let alone be expected to lead them in any manner of speaking. She was glad for her brother though. Hopefully the new system would give him a chance to further himself within the North House. Sounds like Xun's been busy, do you think he's happy?
Leave it to a female to be more concerned with the emotional state of her loved ones than their promotional achievements.

"He's more concerned about others than himself. He's also grown more mindful of his actions and his manners since now that he's under scrutiny since inheriting father's title. So this change was an idea to... make things better for all of us for the hard work that we do." Dohzou gave a galnce to his family, smiling. Xun does a lot of hard work and, often times, he doesn't take a lot of credit for it. The brother gave a soft huff as he watched his brother talk to his father, their lips unreadable from the distance and the din drowned any voices. It seems like the crowd has become more lively with the buzz now that a new leadership has been established among the pride, the Houses will have to follow a new leader and their words. The old leaders are stepping down, the thought of a new, younger, and ones' with different mindsets. This generation will certainly be interesting. "Big brother has gone through some troubles with his betrothed. He refuses to speak about it and says that things are fine, but... his face tells different tales." Dozhou questioned if he should have said such things, but Chenai was his sister after all. Her concerns were genuine and she should be aware to not step on any toes should the subject rise. Not to mention, the din of the crowd muted their voices on possible ears. "Xun is a strong one, both in mind and body, but I am certain his soul has become his vulnerability. For that reason, I shall have to be ever more wary of those around him,"

(And our winners arrrreeee: : D As for what you guys want to do with the three, it's up to you, so long as they're in Tianxia! You can feel free to choose a House and a rank, though I'd suggest working it out with your lord/lady if you want a higher rank. <3 I'm also more than happy to work out stuff, if you have questions or ideas!)
