[META - Ru] Hunting Pirates

[Excited Apathy]

Ziarre's eyes narrowed quickly as Ru flopped down onto the sand--what, by the gods, did he think he was doing--remaining so narrowed as she was told to act concerned. A gimlet stare passed close enough to concern as to make no difference, so it could just stay that way. "Let's get yer bloody drunken arse home before ye start tellin' us about the lioness with a dozen wings," she growled, finding it remarkably easy to summon up the requisite disgust for a "drunkard." She didn't think much of anyone who actually got as wasted as Ru was pretending to be. Tolerable enough in home territory, but that didn't mean she had to like it. And if she needed any help on top of that, she just had to dig a little bit in her memory for some of the idiots she'd had to deal with as she'd climbed the ranks of the Aali. "And I swear if yer too drunk to walk I'll kick that arse all the way back to yer den."

All a part of pretending to be a pirate. Badly.  

[Andranis]

Pili looked from the twins to Jakk, frowning, then smiled charmingly at the girls. "I'll be havin' t' talk later, ladies. Don't be worryin', I'll come find ye." He then went after Jakk, curious as to what his friend was up to. Exploring, eh? Maybe these lions weren't all they seemed? As he fell in step, he cocked an eyebrow. "Jakk, I be noticin' somethin' about them new lions there... They're ALL lions... And many crews have... Dogs, leopards, cheetahs... They ain't got a one..." An observation, really, and a strange one at that. Perhaps this required more investigation, after all.  

[Annchen]

Oh, crap. Halvdan had no way of judging how they were doing, but he thought they were attracting a bit much attention at the moment. Those pirates were looking at them funny and he didn't like it. It took all his effort not to try to wipe away those stares with his claws. Stealth was not his forte, and he longed for a good brawl. Halvdan pretended to stagger, bringing him closer to the ears of the fake-pirates gathering around Ru.

"What if two of us started a fight to distract them?" he suggested under his breath, "That way the rest of the group would be able to sneak away without being stared at."

He wasn't sure if it was a good or bad idea, but he would probably do better in a situation where he was allowed to beat up someone. Or be beaten up, whatever. The troublemakers would probably be kicked out by the pirates, but by then the rest of the gang should already have swiped half their treasure and then some. Well, in theory at least. Oh, please just let him use his paws instead of his mind!

Annchen

The brief look Inyoni gave Halvdan was an odd mixture of surprise and respect. But it was gone in an instant, replaced by what she hoped was a convincing expression of fury.

She took a swipe at the maned part of his head; not hard enough to cause actual harm (certainly not to a Stormborn), but enough to look like it was meant to. "You did what?!" she roared.

Circling around him to position herself in a way that blocked off as much of a view of Ru and the rest of the gang as possible, she continued, "What'd I tell ya about even lookin' at me sister? If she ends up with a belly full o'bastards, it's your hide!"

Ru could feel the situation spiraling out of control and narrowed his eyes. Halvdan and Inyoni may have something planned, and he wasn't going to interfere with it. There were too many pirates coming to investigate them, and Ru was feeling increasingly strongly that their band would be forced to abandon their mission and fight their way out of the pride.

"Kardas," he barked, completely forgetting to pretend to be a pirate for the moment. "You know where my den is. Take me there now. We'll continue the party once we get there."

The worst-looking, most aggressive of the pirates had left, and that helped, but there were still too cursed many of the gods-bedamned things. He just wanted to get in, get the jewel, get out, and get going. So far they had been remarkably fortunate, things had been coming to them pretty easily. Perhaps they were due for some ill luck. Crappy time for it to happen, but that was the way of bad luck.

"You two can't come if you're going to fight," he said, reaching for his pirate voice and generally failing. "No downers welcome."  

[Annchen]

"Hey!" Halvdan shouted, and he didn't have to fake his surprised and look. "What was that for?"

The pink and white female could apparently think on her feet, and he liked her idea. He'd never been in this situation, but he had watched with amusement from the sidelines so he figured he could handle this. He moved further away from the group around Ru in a move he hoped looked as if he was trying to avoid being hit again.

"Your sister is a tramp," he hollered back, dancing backwards to keep some distance to the angry female, "She throws herself at anyone so if she ends up pregnant just about anyone could have knocked her up. Could as well be that guy."

He motioned vaguely to the side, hoping that he wouldn't manage to point directly at a pirate. Accusing one of them to have slept with Inyoni's imaginary sister might not go over well. It would probably be a great diversion, but one involving more bruises than he'd like.

As it happened, Pilipili was the one who ended up in direct line of the motioning. He paused, looking at himself, then at Jakk. "Ye ever recall a pink lioness I may have done anythin' with...?" He'd once seen a pink elephant... Then it flew away. He'd avoided the fruit that gave him THAT hallucination after that.

Munyu looked up at the commotion Halvdan and Inyoni were causing and tried not to snicker. Even if it was fake, he hoped the lioness would box the male's ears. He then bent down, pressing his shoulder to Ru's. "Captain, may I offer ye a shoulder t' lean on on the way back to your den?" His fake accent was horrible, but it could have been attributed to too much revelry. What would be convincing would be if he couldn't keep from getting sick. While the fire-marked male had left, another was approaching that filled him with a sense of strange familiarity... And as this other lion was a pirate, it alarmed the viking.

It seems that things just aren't going to work out for Captain Ruzanski and his band. They are outnumbered by a suspicious, hostile enemy. In fact, the Maestros have discerned that this strange band of lions is no part of their pride and they have reached the unspoken consensus to drive the intruders out of their lands, which they do with both alacrity and ferocity. It isn't long before the pirates have reclaimed their territory, and although they are ignorant of who they defeated they have definitely proven victorious this day. Time to celebrate!

Meanwhile, OOC, this RP is (finally) being wrapped up and we have two raffles that are going to take place. The first is for a lion who must be or become a member of the Maestros del Mar and the second is for a cheetah with which the winner may do as they please. Lists and rolls to come.
