Route 4 - Parterre Way

"My Ace isnt listening to me currently so ill start with my newest member." Tk said as he took his place opposite of Helena, releasing the switch on X-Calibur's Pokeball.

Taking the field, the Honedge unsheathed itself with its scarf like appendage, using it to holding its sheath while floating at the ready.

"Ill give you the first move!" Tk called, not in a cocky fashion but more in a way that implied politeness.

"I can't fight that one," Helena announced as she pursed her lips into a pout at the realization. "Lilt only knows normal type moves, and that ones part ghost type."

"Hmmm, in that case, how bout this one?" Takamaru called as he let out Shuriken, His Skarmory. Shuriken took too the field, letting his wings unfurrel while crying his metallic sounding caw.

"This better?" Takamaru asked as Honegde started sulking in the background.

((So I'm thinking RP time is about 4pm by now? That sound good to y'all?))

Lumiose City - Café Soleil

The world outside Café Soleil hurried past, the streets becoming rammed with bodies eagerly anticipating the later celebrations. Banners were being hung between rows of trees that lined either side of the main street. Posters and fancy, sometimes flowery, decorations were mounted on the sides of ancient stone and modern buildings. Bright banners and flags flapped in the light breeze. Great floral arrangements were positioned by the gatehouses; fresh flowers tied to a framework that evoked the image of giant pokémon standing guard. Gate 5 played host to flower incarnations of Lucario and Gallade, both towering as tall as buildings.

Foreign trainers were there in force, wearing loose clothes that left many burned under Kalos' summer sun. Plenty of Kalos natives skirted around in colourful robes and improbable outfits, their hair and make-up experimental to say the least. They elicited more than a few curious looks from people unfamiliar with the local custom. Hired security worked side by side with police to ensure trouble was kept to a minimum, mostly striving to avoid pokémon battles erupting between trainers who didn't know any better, or ones who did and said they didn't. The buzz was palpable; even those who planned on ignoring the parade entirely couldn't help but take notice.

And it almost completely passed Zack by. He sat at a café table, nose in his notebook while he wrote out some pages on Pangoro. The last battle had taught him well, and he was sure to keep a record of his new findings for future reference. The bear in question sat in a chair on the verge of buckling, paws laced on the table and his ears down apologetically. After the battle, he had collapsed with Rest, and Zack left him on Route 5. Not long after that, the bear had tracked the trainer down and shadowed him once again.

"There," Zack said, dabbing his pen to paper with a full stop. "'Pangoro are easily angered' stretched into five pages."

Pangoro made a moaning noise halfway between a growl and a yawn. He hung his head and Zack shook his own with a smirk. Even though his pokémon had failed to topple the beast, it had been good battle experience for them. Hazard had jumped ahead in power, and Zack supposed that she would be capable of using Curse and Night Shade by now. Chrysalis didn't gain as much, but had learned Bug Bite. They still needed greater variety in technique. Zack stared at his notebook, studying a blank page. His gym challenge could wait another day; he wanted to spend more time training before he could feel confident in toppling a gym leader.

((Yeah, after this they should have to heal up and then head in for their gym matches.))

Route 4 - Parterre Way

"Infinitely better," Helena said. She started the match then as she told Lilt to use Growl. If it worked, Shuriken would find himself weaker by the beautiful chirpy growl of Lilt - though Helena was sure that Lilt had meant to intimidate the Skarmory.

Luck was on his side once more, it seemed, as a Budew was the first of the pokemon in the flowers to turn its attention to him. Really, catching it was likely to be easy, especially given the pokemon he had ready to go. Benedict took Sir Ricard Lancelot's pokeball in hand and released him in front of the angry looking budew. The pokemon seemed sure of its defense of its territory, up until the moment that a dragonite appeared in front of it, and looked down upon it with a very bored expression...

Sir Ricard let out a loud yawn, and turned his attention to his new trainer briefly. The youth didn't look like much, not at all worth his time. The thought occurred to the dragon type that, perhaps, there were some pokemon in the region he could visit. Or, maybe, he could find one of those pokemon hook-up center? What were they called? 'Daycares'?

The dragonite's wings moved, slowly at first, and then a little faster. Almost impossibly, given the difference in size of its body and its wings, the pokemon began to fly. It rose quickly, and started away. It was fast, faster than it had any dang right to be with how it looked, but Benedict was fast enough to raise his pokeball and return the thing before it managed to escape.

Why did it just... He turned his attention to the Budew, and saw the thing was in shock. He shook off his own surprise, leaving the questions of how to deal with the dragonite's behavior, for later. He remembered hearing something similar once, so maybe he could get the information needed.

Another pokeball flew quickly from his hand, and smacked the budew in the face. It didn't seem in any hurry to react, of course, and, after a moment of tension, the pokeball stopped moving to show that it was caught.

Dragonite's useless... Benedict thought as he knelt down to pick up the ball. Which meant he needed a bit of training with this pokemon before he could be sure of any victories... He could go to Lumiose if he really wanted, challenge that electric gym...

Slowly, reluctantly, Benedict checked the pokedex and saw what it had to say. Budew wasn't weak to bug types, so if he really wanted to start there, he could. But wouldn't that mean he'd need more? At least one more to balance out the fact that he didn't really have a "team" of pokemon ready to fight this?

With a shake of his head, Benedict released his new pokemon to get ready to get acquainted, and to get what training done he could before there was officially no time left in the day for challenging the gym.

((Yup yuo))

Route 4 - Parterre Way

It worked, although not in the way the little robin Pokemon intended. instead of being intimidated, Shuriken was put off by how adorable the little robin Pokemon was. either way, his attack power was minorly reduced.

"Sand attack. Then get in the air." Takamaru called, relaxed. If all went well then Shuriken would kick up some sand and dirt from beneath him with his wings, before taking to the sky to directly above all in the same motion.

Helena hesitated when the sand attack came. Lilt squeaked as it fell over her and Helena tightened her lips.

It was too late to get around it now, however the Skarmory still had ears. Helena decided that she didn't need Lilt to see if Skarmory had to get in close. "Growl again!"

Lilt obeyed and let out the adorable chirp meant to lower attack.

Again, The Skarmory's attack was lowered. But the growl served another purpose as well, it gave Shuriken Lilts exact position in the Sand attack smoke screen. So when Tk's attack command of "Furry Attack" came, he was able to dive into his own created Sand attack to strike out about 4 consecutive times with his beak in rapid succession.

If all four of the attacks where to make contact, even with reduced attack power behind them, it was likely that the tiny Bird pokemon would either faint of be close to it.

However, if said attacks failed to make contact, Shuriken would be in close enough range for Lilt to rebuke with an attack of its own.

Shuriken's dive meant that its trajectory was clear. "Run forward while growling!" Helena called and Lilt obeyed.

The little Pokemon, who had the distance to move the little space required due to Shuriken moving up into the sky, would avoid the Fury Attack and growl again, to further reduce Skarmory's attack.

"Tackle!" Helena called next. She hoped to strike Skarmory before he could turn to go after Lilt, though the damage would be negligible if she hit.

Lilt's Tackel hit home, but the attack damage against Skarmory's high defensive metallic hide was miniscule. Directly after Lilts initial strike, Shuriken would attempt to swat the tiny bird Pokemon with a sharp swipe from his wing before launching into his trainers next battle command of "Counter with Swift!"

Agilely contorting his body, the Shuriken swing both wings forward after touching down on the ground to stabilize its attack, effectively launching a barrage of 100% accuracy star shaped projectiles made of a bright white energy substance.

However, the metalic bird Pokemon would pull the attack power that would have normally been put into the attack, effectively making it less of a tsunami when compared to the tiny robin Pokemon, and more of a obnoxiously large wave in comparison.

Lilt was laid out by the attack and a moment later Helena recalled the tiny robin.

"That went about as expected," Helena said. She looked at Takamaru as she attached the pokeball to her belt. "I think you're a little out of my league right now."

"Just for now," Tk offered kindly, walking up to Helena to hand out a potion as recompense. "I don't mean to sound condescending, but I'm sure you'll end up surpassing me in no time." the soft innocent feeling smile the went along with it should be more than enough to prove his sincerity on the matter.

Half turning from Helena, the silver haired youth recalled his his two Pokemon before looking down at the touch screen of the holo-caster that hung from his neck. Just a little more than a half hour before his gym match.

"That's the plan," Helena said as she waved her hand to turn down the potion. "She needs to go to the pokemon center. It's no big deal, I need to head in for my gym match soon anyways."

"Mhmm, Same here." Tk replied, putting the Potion back into his sling pack before strapping the single strap back across his chest.

"You gonna head up there now or train down here a bit more?" The youth asked, hands in his pocket halfway facing the direction of Santalune.
