First class of the new year and Thorsten was looking forward to it. Last year had gone well and he had a good bunch of students. He hoped that this year would go just as well and hopefully his students would remember the information from last year. Of course if they didn't he'd be making them do review, luckily without the whole introduction thing to go along with it.
Sitting at his desk as his students arrived, Thorsten hardly showed any expression as he looked to see theirs. Getting up and going to the front of his desk he leaned up against it before flicking his wand to the board revealing the rules and the subject topic on the board. “Good morning and welcome back to ghoul and ghost studies. I hope your summers were good.” Thorsten greeted them before getting into what they'd be doing for the day.
“Today we will cover new material but first, I'd like to do review of last years material.” Thorsten told them before adding. “One topic each please.”

Getting up and going to the front of his desk he leaned up against it before flicking his wand to the board revealing the rules and the subject topic on the board. “Good morning, today we will be discussing traits of ghosts." Standing up from his leaning option at the front of his desk, the German wizard flicked his wand at the board once more. The board wiping clean and a piece of chalk started writing the notes for the lesson. “I suggest taking notes down from the board.” He gestured before continuing on.
“You should know the traits or characteristics of a ghost I assume, Hogwarts has a few. They are transparent versions of their former selves, appearing grey silver in color. Now ghosts cannot move objects but it does appear that wind can cause movement with ghosts.” Thorsten told them as he walked around the room. “I don’t suppose any of you might have a theory as to why that is?” He asked pausing for a moment seeing if anyone knew the answer before going on. “It should be noted ghosts have hard time talking about their deaths as one might expect. They do celebrate their death day however.” He finished as he made his way back to the front of the classroom.
“Now if you have any questions, feel free to ask.” Thorsten told them as he looked up at the clock. “If not then you are dismissed. Next week we will get into ghost abilities.”

Christopher "Chris" Avery Gryffindor Fourth Year Pureblood Adventurer & Chaser
Older Brotherxxxxx
Location : Ghost Studies (Monday 9 am)
Christopher wasn't exactly looking forward to being in the classroom. So when ghost studies was his first class back, he dragged his feet. It was nine in the morning, he had barely made for breakfast before it was time for class. Finding a seat in the back in really just wanted to go back to bed. It was clearly by his uniform appearing as if he literally through it on from a pile on the floor. If his parents saw him now, day one and he already looked like a laundry hamper.
At least Chris could say he hadn't been late to class. Sitting there listening to the morning greetings of good summers and review, he laid his head down on the desk. This was going to be a long day. Feeling the look of his professor looming at him, the Gryffindor sat himself upright. "We covered why a wizard might choose to become a ghost and how muggles can't." He said hoping that would be enough to get any uncertain off his back. He might not find ghost studies to be a fascinating subject after third year but at least he could say he paid attention.

Monday morning Wizard Law and Ghouls and Ghosts was going to make a very productive day for writing, August realized as he made his way to his second class of the year. He already had a bunch of notes from the review that day in Wizard Law to make sure his latest story was factually correct, and was looking forward to either another comprehensive review or more interesting material to include from Ghouls an Ghosts.
He came armed with the fourth year textbook, already marked up from pre-reading over the summer. He’d done plenty of ghost-reading as research for this last story, but if anything it only made him more excited for class this year—so much of the year was going to be on ghosts and their properties and abilities! He was definitely writing another ghost story this year. Once this one was finished, of course.
He turned around when Topher spoke up and offered a little smile and wave—August hadn’t seen the boy come in from his usual seat in the front.
When it was his turn, August chose another subject for review and delivered his bit: ”We also talked about immortality and various ways of attaining immortality, including horcruxes, vampirism, unicorn blood, and the philosopher’s stone. ”

As a child you would wait And watch from far away But you always knew that you'd be the one to work while they all play. In youth, you'd lay Awake at night and scheme Of all the things you would change But it was just a dream ➼ "Warriors" by Imagine Dragons, from League of Legends, cover by Caleb Hyles.
