It took a little while, but eventually we found another Pokemon. Unfortunately, it was a Pokemon I was unfamiliar with having never gone Pokemon hunting in Kalos - Klefki.

"Huh... Kinda looks like the sort of thing Keiko might catch, huh?" I asked Yuki, despite not being able to read her mind to hear her answer what with Rala not being anywhere nearby. She did chirp cutely in response, though. Before I could decide whether or not I wanted to try to catch it, if only to smooth things over with Keiko after that unwise joke, curiosity eventually got the better of me and I pulled out my SNAG. "Steel/Fairy? Huh. Welp, it doesn't resist Electric, so let's see what it's got. Nasty Plot, Yuki."

While Yuki was busy looking at Klefki, the Keychain Pokemon shouted at her, firing some kind of wave of Ghost-type energy at her which made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Yuki got the worst of it, though, and wound up flinching, cancelling her use of Nasty Plot.

"Well, that's annoying," I sighed. "Let's try making it harder for it to use moves against us, Yuki. Sweet Kiss."

Yuki responded by leaping up on Kelfki, trying to give it a peck on the cheek. Klefki, however, leaned into the kiss, returning her affection with a kiss of its own - DrainingKiss. After the two parted, Kelfki was hovering a bit more erratically, but Yuki was weaked significantly. Fortunately, Klefki was a full health when it used this move and thus was not mane any more difficult to take down than it already was.

"Okay, this thing is way too fast," I grunted, getting a little more annoyed. "Not waiting for Static to proc. Thunder Wave, Yuki."

Before Yuki could send her electric charge at the floating Steel-type, however, it used Crafy Shield, protecting it from all status effects, including Paralysis. It didn't remove its Confusion, though, so that was something. Not that it eased my increasing rage any.

"Okay, defensive game is out the window. Thundershock, Yuki. No holding back," I demanded.

Klefki being the faster one, it tried going for a Mirror Shot. But Confusion finally payed off, and the move literally exploded in Klefki's face shortly before Yuki filled it with electricity. Despite this, I couldn't tell afterward if Klefki's wobbling was from its confusion or from battle fatigue.

"Okay, this thing can take a bloody hit," I decided finally. "Better help Yuki out before this thing takes her down." With that, I took a Potion out of my pack, only for Klefki to imbue Yuki's body with Psychic energy, preventing her health from being restorable.

"Okay, no," I growled. "I've had it with you. This whole stopping Yuki from doing what she sets out to do crap ends. Thundershock, Yuki."

Hearing the anger in my voice, Yuki was quick to fire another bolt of energy, but not before taking a Mirror Shot to the backside for her trouble. Fortunately, her Thundershock hit Klefki, as well.

"I SAID QUIT THAT ~/~!" I roared, throwing the first thing I could grab. Which turned out to be a Safari Ball. Whoops.

"Maker's BREATH!" I spat when Kelfki broke out of the ball again. "I respect you for being this strong, but holy crap, stay in the wretched ball!"

...yeah, I was a little salty. Yuki, seeing that I was distracting the Klefki with my rant, snuck up on the Steel-type and gave it a peck on the cheek, causing confusion. Thankfully, she was quick enough to get out of the way before Klefki realized what was going on. But instead of trying to return the affection, Klefki attempted to give Yuki another taste of its Mirror Shot, only for the move to blow up in its face a third time.

"Use Thundershock again!" I shouted. Yuki charged up Electric energy, but Klefki was tired of this war of attrition by now, and lunged at Yuki, tearing at her with Dark-type energy via Foul Play.

I rushed to Yuki's side, but she hadn't fainted yet. However, she was very weak at this point, as if just a sliver of health away from fainting.

I turned from Yuki to face Klefki, stomping the ground in the process. "I respect you, Klefki. You have some impressive strength. But you wouldn't be the first Pokemon stronger than my team that I've caught. In fact, never have I met a powerful Pokemon that has eluded my throwing arm, and ~/~ YOU! Today is NOT THAT DAY!!!" I screamed, chucking my last Safari Ball with all my might.

Crystal tilted her ears as she picked up on something, an energy that seemed faintly familiar. "Hm? Uh... Donne?" She looked down, eyes narrowing as she felt movement around her legs. Popping out of the water near her would be a fish that reminded her too much of a drag queen with horrible makeup. "I... Ah... " Crystal would stare at the Bruxish until it finally swam off, leaving the hybrid confused. "i... How does a Pokémon like that exist?"

Lynnette would watch as an Eevee ran past her, diving into one of the abandoned stores. She considered following after it, considering it could evolve into a Fairy type if that's what she was really set on. But, Lynn knew there had to be something in here that she wanted more. As tempting as the cute bundle of fluff was, Lynn wanted to make sure they'd be ready for if something potentially more interesting came along.

Zone: Side Area B - Backroom Storage

As Odd walked the halls, he felt a strong presence nearby. Something was watching him and he could tell that without even utilizing his power. Whatever it was didn't seem all that interested in him after a while, however. Despite his paranoia, he never saw the Meowstic slink away into the shadows once again.

Why did it seem like all the cute Pokemon were out to play today? Lynnette would watch a Togepi toddle along, stopping only for a moment to glance at Lynn and Rea. The girl would stare at the Togepi, highly considering it for a moment before simply walking away. It was tempting, but, Lynn felt there was still something more suited to her out there somewhere.

It seemed Lynnette was so determined that she wouldn't even notice the Chingling that was watching her. Not that it mattered too much, she wouldn't have been interested in it anyways.
