Kai watched her son as he looked toward the window. "You two did look quite cozy when you came in." She said, giving him a sly smile. Kai nudged him in the side with her elbow. "You know, you two make a cute couple." Kai felt a burst of excitement as she saw Dark blush. "I may just have to play matchmaker if you let this chance fall through your paws."

"Mother!" Dark exclaimed, his face burning with embarrassment. She was always trying to set him up with some female or another. And thinking about Bella, her silver eyes lighting up with excitement, made Dark pause. Was his mom correct? Maybe there was a spark between the two of them.
Well, anyways, it was too late at night to be contemplating such things. Maybe he'd visit the warren the next day...

The sun was set, the forest was quiet, and Happy had the world in his hands. The kitsune grinned as he trotted through the trees. He felt wind rustle his fur and he took in a deep breath, enjoying the brisk air. Night had truly fallen, and the air was almost chilling. Happy loved living in Hemlock. The other faes here were of like mind. He and his brothers roamed Hemlock, causing whatever mischief they felt like doing that day.
The wind shifted and Happy's nose twitched. There was the scent he wanted to find. With a grin, Happy took off, his paws noiseless over the forest floor.

's**t.' Haunt knew the wind shifted. He'd lose the game at this rate. Haunt was curled in a ball inside the trunk of a hallow tree. He cursed again and slid the bark he had put up to hide the hole aside and slipped from the tree. He'd need a new hiding spot.
'Damn wind.' Haunt huffed and crept silently up the tree to the top of the branches. He leapt, trying to reach another tree fifteen feet away. He didn't land on the branch he had planned, but he landed on a lower branch. He slunk around the trunk of the tree to reach a branch on the other side. He sniffed, knowing that his time was limited. Climbing higher into the tree, he took another leap, landing in yet another tree. Using this strategy, Haunt made it miles away from his hiding spot, close to the warren he and his brothers lived in. Haunt knew his scent would get mixed up with his brothers, but also his earlier scents. He dropped nimbly to the ground and raced through the clearing of the warren. He passed into the forest on the other side. He had several hollowed trees that he could hide in. But first, a bath as he splashed through a river that cut through the forest.
Masking his scent was easy. As he left the river, Haunt rolled through a bed of lavender, planted just for this occasion.
That task done, Haunt took off to one of his hollow trees.

He was on the move. Happy knew he'd move after the wind shift. Following his nose, Happy found where his brother had been hiding and followed his sparse trail.
'Trying to jump trees to confuse me? I may not be a natural hunter, but that's child's play.' Happy chuckled. His amusement turned bitter as he came upon their warren. "Now that's just playing dirty, ya mangy cur." Happy hissed.

A high pitched giggle floated down from one of the trees around the warren. "That silly kitsune the one you're after?" A hidden voice called down to the male in the clearing. "He took a bath and rolled in flowers. This some game you two play?" Cherry Rose peaked around the trunk, her eyes following Happy's movements as he tried to spot her. "It's so easy to catch him. Would you like me to show you where he is?"

Happy suddenly went defensive, his muscles quivering, ready to sprint away at a moment's notice. His eyes darted around the warren. Not many faes were willing to come close to the Petal warren. The six brothers were rough and tumble. And usually you couldn't run into one without at least two others.
Happy grinned as he caught a sliver of color in one of the trees. "Hoy! Who goes there?" He threw his voice as loud as he could, and knew that his brothers would hear. Maybe even that idiot Haunt who had insisted on a game of hide and seek and maim.

"Not as brave as you act, huh? If you're calling your brothers for little ol' me." Cherry laughed her cold, mocking laugh. She jumped and flipped onto a lower tree branch, allowing the kitsune to see her. She smoothed her dress around her legs. She watched Happy bristle at the taunt. "Cool your jets, hot stuff." She scoffed. "I was only passing by when your brother nearly barreled me over. I wasn't staying."

"Then why don't you skeedadle?" Howl said, appearing behind the Maenad, his breath warm on her neck, her hair fluttering in his wind. He smirked as she swung around, claws extended to attack, and ducked under her swing. He snapped his hand up and grabbed her around her throat. "Why hang around if you weren't meaning to?" He asked her, his voice low.

Shivers ran down Cherry's spine as his whispers. She felt excitement course through her veins. Not only was she having fun, but she was having fun with some very handsome kitsunes. The pale male's claws were around her throat, and while it was uncomfortable, it wasn't life threatening. Yet. Cherry let her mouth perk up into a smile. She reached her hand forward and he snarled in her face, but froze as she cupped his cheek. He was surprised enough to loosen his grip and she wrapped her other around around his waist, gently petting the base of his tails. "Maybe I stayed for the view." She whispered back before kissing him tightly.

Happy barked a laugh at how easily his brother was disarmed. He was also slightly envious that he got to kiss the pretty female (now that she wasn't threatening to the kitsunes who outnumbered her). "Aren't you gonna share?" He called up to his brother.

"You know the closest brothers share." Hunt mumbled, sitting in a branch higher than his brother and the Maenad. He and Happy's other siblings had come at his call and were all hidden in the leaves, including Haunt, who still smelled of lavender. The kitsunes closed in as Howl wrapped his arms around Cherry and pulled her to the ground with a sqeak.

Cherry looked around at the Petal brothers and felt a thrill run through her body. This was not what she had planned for the day, but a girl could have a worse day than being worshiped by so many kitsunes. She counted surrounding males. Six. Six males looking at her with hunger in their eyes. "Well, don't you know how to make a girl feel special." She cooed, lifting her chin to the closest brother, Hua, beckoning him with her eyes to kiss her, which he gladly obligated.

"Brother, you promised me we could go see the aria in the meadow." She pouted as she followed behind her taller, older brother, Legolas. He didn't care for music like she did. In fact, Aierlinn couldn't find any similarities between her and Legolas. Sometimes she wondered if he were adopted. She and her full brother, Aweneth, looked exactly like their mother and father, Inithia and Thranduil. Legolas didn't even have the same last name as her! He was a Greenleaf, and she was Thranduiliell. Why she wasn't Inithiaiell, she didn't know, but still! She at least shared her name with her family.

"Why should I have to endure such amateur music when we can listen to the music of the forest?" Legolas asked as he led his little sister through the wood. "You need only listen, sister. Besides, I heard there was a monster attacking the innocent fae here. It's our duty to keep those in our lands safe." Legolas had been excited to hear he was getting siblings, but since his half-sister's mother was so busy with whatever her duties were, he got saddled with raising the girl. And Legolas was too young and too, as humble as he wanted to be, handsome, to be tethered to his sister. He wanted to be out, wooing the females, feeling the mighty warrior that he was. Which he couldn't do, touting about a sister who couldn't fight to save her life.
