"You don't have to worry about your SNAG, you can take it down to the floor of the Hoenn sea and it will still work." GRAY reassured Jean, the AI's voice projecting from the wet device in his hand. "Either way, you are still inside Mt. Mortar, however the current worked in your flavor and you appear to be very close to the exit. Head directly east and you should see light shining in from outside through the cave's exit." He instructed Jean.
As GRAY stated the trainer would have to walk for several minutes longer before natural light shone through the darkness, signifying they were close to the exit. Nothing would stop Jean and company from reaching the exit though the sound of Zubat deeper in the cave, creatures the trainer no doubt wanted to mess with again.
Upon exiting the cave Jean's eyes would be assaulted by the sun's rays, no doubt an unpleasant feeling after being in such deep darkness for so long, would take a minute or two to get used to the light again. Once he could see clearly he would find himself on the other side of the river that stopped his progress originally, back on Route 42. A fisherman would be seen sitting on the shore of the river, enjoying his day, back turned to Jean.
Here the ground was sandy with a patch of tall grass directly in front of him. To his east a path formed on the horizon and to the side of that path there was a sign which read 'Mahogany Town', an arrow pointing in that direction. Civilization dead ahead and finally nothing to get in his way.

(I am so sorry for forgetting about this, I have no excuse.)
Mahogany Town, the Home of the Ninja, or so the signage states. It was a small unassuming town though despite its relatively small size it still contained the staples for a trainer, a Pokemon Center and most importantly what put it on the map a Pokemon Gym. It did not however have a PokeMart which might be a problem later. The town had but one inn, even more ancient than the inn Jean stayed at in Ecruteak City and far smaller. He would find the inn himself this time, a small building next to a shop a labeled 'Just a Souvenir Shop', strange name but a souvenir shop was not what he was looking for, he was more interested in the inn next to it.
The inn looked like it had seen better days, was painfully in need of repairs, what repairs it had seen made with mismatched pieces of wood and other products yet still made in the same old Johtonian style as the inn in Ecruteak City. In fact most of the buildings here kept the old style while Ecruteak City was slightly more modernized.
Entering the inn, which was simply labeled outside as 'Inn', Jean would find nary a soul, no one to greet him unlike the one in Ecruteak City. Instead he would see a sign written in Kanjoh of the Johtonian dialect, made with very poor hand writing thus difficult for someone not fluent to decipher. Instead GRAY would translate for Jean, his voice coming through the SNAG. "It says to take a key from the board behind the desk and find a room. Management will greet you when they return. They must be very trusting people around here." GRAY said.
