I like Noro 'cause it has such awesome funky colors.

But...it's expensive and I can't actually find any in my town XD

I like to work with wool and Caron, Caron mostly because it's cheap whee

Y'know I've never tried knitting with the Red Heart soft stuff. I hate their normal acrylic, but I shall have to purchase some soft and play with it XD

Noro is my favorite too! you can get it on yarnmarket.com which yarn do you like? i like kureyon and silk garden.

I don't think I've posted here...
I mostly just use Red Heart because it's cheap, and I'm poor.
Once I'm a little less poor and have a chance to find the best LYS around I'll probably become a fiber snob, but for now I'm good with acrylic...

I like the fuzzy yarns, like eyelash. I got some yarn for Christmas that is all fuzzy and bumpy, I LOVE IT!!!! 4laugh I also have some red heart brand called foxy, and Kiss, they are soooo soft!

Noro used to be my favorite. The pretty colors, and the self striping-ness of the Kureyon. It's love.

But for Christmas I got 5 large skeins of baby alpaca and 3 skeins of glitzy black alpaca-cotton blend.
I am in serious Alpaca lust right now. I just pet it and have named all the skeins.
I baby sat my little cousin over new years (and was paid in the 3 skeins of alpaca and cotton, does my family know me or what?) and he insisted on sleeping with one of the baby alpaca skeins like a teddy bear.
It even got him want to learn how to knit. This is powerful wonderful stuff.

The heat will melt the acrylic. You will have a mass of (possibly softer) goo.

ive dried my acrylic sweaters in the dryer before, and ive never had a problem confused

You should dry it on low, like delicate low. And dont over dry.

Hooray for revived threads.

A favorite luxury yarn of mine is Koigu's sock yarns. The colorways in their painter's palette line are so unexpected and delightful. Unfortunately, they're just so lovely in their hanks that I can't bring myself to actually make them into socks. =/

My recently-discovered favorite is Paton's SWS (Soy Wool Strips). The yarn is incredibly soft despite being a wool blend, and the striping patterns are gorgeous. I'm currently making an entrelac scarf using some and it's turning out beautiful.

alpaca all the way!!

acrylic it it is something that needs to be washed a lot. my husband has an issue with accidentally felting my wool clothes. lol
