Basically the different between a regular item and reaper's weapon would be the density of FEAR they contain. It's the difference between hitting someone with a fist and hitting them with a FEAR-infused fist. One doesn't actually do much damage, the other being capable of doing lots of damage, even to intangibles, like ghosts. With the exception of the first bathroom battle, we've tried to make it clear that weapons given out are infused with a little something "extra" ~ such as FEAR and in Christmas, JOY.

The difference between a familiar and other pets/summons, is that a familiar talks, is capable of channeling FEAR attacks, and has an overall higher awareness. Regular pets and summons are basically minipets.

Students that are not reapers ARE allowed to have pets, but are not allowed to have weapons. Because the school doesn't want any more armed students running around in hallways stabbing s**t, than strictly necessary.

Toshi's question came about mostly 'cause of the rocker demon, who has a double bladed axe guitar which is more of a weapon than even Roch's guitar, so that's kind of why we were wondering. XD

...it's like a regular guitar ~ it doesn't actually have sharp blades. It just plays music.

Not everything that looks like a weapon IS a weapon. XD Non-Reaper students can have accessories/items on their art so long as there's justification for it -- I know there's a monster student running around with a snake on his art because he's ICly blind and uses the snake to "see" for instance.

Otherwise yeah if you check out the Reaper subspecies guide, there's all the details about what Reapers and only Reapers can do with their weapons. Because a Reaper needs their weapon/familiar to channel their Fear, they get to carry around dangerous sharp pointy things while the rest of the students get to have them locked up.

idk about you, but Red does not want to have her eye poked out because somebody thought it would be hilarious to shoot spitballs out of the same blowgun that they also happen to shoot poisoned needles out of. neutral

If you created a booth in the Festival part of the guild, and then did a speech, does that count towards the growth point or does the booth part only count if it was in the main part of the guild where most rping happens? ((I ask because I was here to do the booth during the Festival, but didn't make post it up again in the main part of the guild.))

On growth points I wanted to verify something.

Quote:
1 point can be:

- One piece of fanart drawn by you for anything related to shop (max 5 points this way)
- One complete regular rp (must have written at least 800 words)
- One gm-modded event with point prizes (to be linked), where you included your character
- One complete classroom rp (must have written at least 800 words)
- One complete homework assignment
- One complete battle, with just rolls
- Five minipets grown to their final stage (1 point per 5, up to 5 points can be earned this way)
- One complete solo consisting of a minimum of 800 words

What happens when homework IS a minipet? And growing it. At first I thought this was oh hey easy growth point but then it's like... :U.........
Uhhhhhhhhhhh. Wait but HW is minipets but minipets already matter and you need five and BWUH...
Please just clarify.

MK: one booth + one speech = 1 seed ~ booth can be either from festival or during this last week.

Toshi: no ~ just a mayor and city council

Vamps: If there was a written portion involving the minipet homework (a solo or prp outside of the class) it can be counted, otherwise homework minipets are just a fun bonus for taking the class.

Hopefully this doesn't sound dumb, but when a creature comes into Halloween Town by way of being feared would said creature know how they got to Halloween Town or just not know as all, like ghosts?

Do you mean those created directly from human FEAR? They would spawn somewhere in the world of Halloween ~ usually in an immature form. So its like remembering being in the womb before being born: most people don't, since there's not really much to remember before that point.

going back to MK's question about the booths + speech...

IF you made TWO booths (one for the event and one in the main guild) and RP'd over 800 words each... could that count for double points? or just one point?

okay let me break this down:

booth (< 800 words) + speech = 1 rp point
booth (>800 words) + speech = 1 rp point (+1 regular rp point)
booth (>800 words) + booth (>800 words) + speech = 1 rp point (+2 regular points)

basically: it's as normal, only with 1 extra point for putting in the effort for candidacy

Are there any residents of Halloween who are from Jack's time (or even before that) that are still alive?

Is there any additional info about familiars not on the reapers thread? I'm mainly looking into their function and also /why/ they are with their reaper (do they gain something, does their reaper have power over them?)
