Johnny Malone xXVoodooChildXx Rodyn I've always wondered if getting a tattoo of a cross was a sin, because I considered it. But I don't really want one now. if the cross is upside down it's a sign of satinism Not necessarily true. Christian tradition holds that Peter was crucified upside down. The upside down cross is more of a pop culture satanism symbol. It has no real meaning besides. I'm honestly a bit confused why the cross is Christianities symbol actually. It was the thing he was left to die on. I'd consider such as thing to be more of an omen.

It was the thing he was left to die on. I'd consider such as thing to be more of an omen. The cross represents the ultimate sacrifice and Christ's victory over death. By dying Christ destroyed death's hold on humanity. Edit: Also, I don't follow pop culture satanism or most new religious trends. I tend to rock it "old school." Being a Catholic who is converting to the Eastern Orthodox Church.

It's to remind them what Jesus did. Or what God did. You know, giving his life and so on.

If you say so. Then again, don't try to pass off a jury-rigged repair as a brand new part.

It makes sense, but still seems backward to me. confused
Like I said, seems more like it should be a omen of human-kinds malice and destruction. That it should be a satanic symbol instead of a holy one.
And where did the fish and dove symbol come from?

" When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He[a] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him." Matthew 3:16

Fish is when jesus fed the poor by basically turning one fish into many, i believe. The dove is just a symbol of peace, not technically christian oriented, nor the olive branch it always carries. That's from roman times as offerings between armies..
edit: or let johnny talk about that one. I always thought it was inducted later.

The fish could also represent the Jesus calling Simon (called Peter) and Andrew, his brother, to become "fishers of men."

Nelowulf If you say so. Then again, don't try to pass off a jury-rigged repair as a brand new part. I didn't, but it doesn't matter, because it's only gonna get broken again at some point and re-duct taped. Don't assume your judgments make things the better or any more clear.
