*sigh* I'm a little depressed over my current art situation. Yes, I've been able to get some nice art lately of Lyrim and am currently trying to find more folks to draw my mate Seth, but I'm still feeling a little rejected.
I did win three big Art Auctions in the AFG, one in July and two in October, and two of them were for 100k each and the third was for 70k. I only pre-paid for one of them, but the one for 70k was cancled and never done, and I'm still waiting for the two 100k ones. I know art can't be rushed sometimes, but even the picture I got from Blotch (seen in my signature and profie) only took about a week and a half, and it was painted and mailed to me. Yea I paid like almost $70.00 for it, and not Gaia Gold, but still it sort of feels like there is something I don't know about me, some reason that I have had no luck yet with the three most expencive commissions I've tried to get on Gaia. Are their rumors about me floating around that I don't now about? I've never wronged anyone here that I know of, or am I just really unlucky. question

Are their rumors about me floating around that I don't now about? I've never wronged anyone here that I know of, or am I just really unlucky. question I don't think it's you personally. I don't know who you're expecting the art from, but I know a lot of the artists in the guild fall into the "younger" category and are dealing with things like school and other personal issues. I've noticed that a lot of the artists here (myself included) sometimes get themselves a bit overwhelmed with art requests and need to just stop and take a break. However, they should at least be keeping contact with you regarding the statis, since you did pay so much. confused On a more personal note: I just had an hour long conversation at 3:30 in the morning with my manager from work....He spent pretty much the whole hour either trying to convince me to come to work tomorrow or to stay in Miami. He doesn't wanna have to replace me. I'm torn between flattery and being semi-creeped out by the fact that he feels the need to call me at 3:30am for that conversation (is there something wrong with talking at work now???) I suppose I should be thankful that I'm that good an employee though....That should be a relatively impressive Letter of Recommendation for future jobs... whee

If you leave they have to find a new employee and train them. It's actually routine for management to call an employee to stay if they're going to leave. EDIT: I'd like to know if anyone else's family makes them do chores past midnight?

Wow, that is quite the sight.
So I get up around 6:30AM and take care of a few things. Mostly up that early to see my mate before he goes off to work, but anyway, after he heads off I go back to bed for about an hour's worth of extra sleep. When I wake up and peek outside I find everything covered in snow, which wasn't exactly a suprise but still... not something we get to see that often around here and I find to be so absolutly beautiful.

I do all my cash commissions and art trades first, then Gaia gold commissions. Gaia gold isn't important, it's fake pixels. So we artists don't feel inclined to even give it a thought. I myself only offer it for people who can't afford real money commissions.

I spent hours accumilating some of my pixils, and I know that many of the people who pay me in gold have also either spent a lot of time earning it, or have used real money to earn that gold. I certainly don't just shove someone's piece under the trashcan and forget about them because they paid in gold. Of course, I think artists should specify about how long it will take them to get to a piece, when offering their services. If the gold is so worthless to you, just do it for free or don't offer it at all. Just remember, not everyone holds pixels to be worthless, otherwise they wouldn't be interested in your CG art.

If the gold is so worthless to you, just do it for free or don't offer it at all. Just remember, not everyone holds pixels to be worthless, otherwise they wouldn't be interested in your CG art. Maybe I worded that wrong. I didn't mean absolutely worthless, just that cash is much more valuable and needed. I'm a very poor person, and as such, I can't afford art supplies alot. So I need the cash much more than the gold. (To me, it has a much smaller value. I can't very well take my Gaia account to an art store and try and purchase markers or colored pencils with pixels.) As such, some artists might just put the gold commissions to the side till they finish the cash commissions. Also, if the art was just offered as free, there would be too many requests and the artist would either be overloaded or end up dissapointing alot of people. I know I've had to cancel a number of gold commissions because I got so busy with cash commissions

I tend to agree with Lyrim and Kris on the Gaia gold matter....After all, I sell my art for gold cause I'm not sure how much it would be worth in cash, and besides that, I LIKE Gaia gold...and I want that Sash... xd
But regardless of how much gold/cash is offered, if someone agrees to do something in exchange for something else, they should uphold their end of the bargain.

I just found out that there should be a firmware update for my phone which fixes and improves it. Currently it crashes, loses the network, etc. But I have to convince the service centre that my phone is faulty (it has the firmware known for problems.... that scream faulty to you?) so I don't have to pay AUD$50 for them to flash it for me, since I can't do it myself because the firmware isn't publically available.
Anyway, if I can get it flashed and it fixes all the problems I'm having, I'll be so happy.
