Camoleoline...its a thingzor both my charas have used. It's a kind of material that sort of bends light away from the wearer, making them seem hazy and indistinct. Its generally worn as a Cloak (Garment, not device)

I'd have to check though.
What Paul's got is probably just Defel Pelt cloaks.
