Actually, i could see a rather unique light-hammer for skuld.

A wide-beam saber that's no longer than a shoto, if not less, but about five times as thick, attached perpendicular to a shaft. On the other end, the same thing and pointed the oppostie way. Both have small repulsors to help speed the spinning of the staff.

If you weren't so worried about speed, replace the microthrusters with a pair of shotos, so that it becomes a sort of dual pickaxe.

What you described is a light pick axe.

Hear me out. don't forget we're building a light-hammer.

Its essentially a polarized field which encapsulates the superheated plasma, no? Well, a lightsaber blade is long and thin, which means that the tip of the lightsaber is extremely far from any projector.

If one makes the tip of the lightsaber very close to the projector, the said field which encapsulates the plasma can be logorythmically bolstered, making a more of a smash. Instead of a long projection field, you get a very short and powerful one, which can be widened now to something about 9 inches across. Instead of a three inch beam that goes out 3 feet, you get a 9 inch beam which goes out 1 foot. A very fat beam, nonetheless, but somethign which would be very painful to be hit with.

Unlike the saber, which would cut through everything it touches easily, the magnetic pulses would allow for a more forceful hit, with less actual cauterizing damage, because the shielding is stronger. so, if it connects with armor, it won't go straight through, but it will melt and singe to no end due to the pure concentration of the blade's size. If it touches flesh, it doesn't burn clean either, instead leaving a rather nasty hunk of flesh which slowly melts away...

It was a poorly thought out idea that totally ignored Skuld's instinctual feminine desire to smash things with blunt instruments.
It was about as lame as that sheep powered raygun of yours.

How about just mimic the Halo design? Get a large war hammer, strap small replusors onto the back of the head, with a button on the shaft, when swung, activate them, you just need to be strong enough to keep hold of it.
