tourniquetsmile Tanith Raithe I've been everything but the drummer. -smiles awkwardly- My senior year was marked by my nickname in the last band I was in..("Yo, DUFF!") and me singing "Sympathy for the Devil" that a friend of mine recorded in a style that was hybrid both the Rolling Stones and GNR version. (The best part was when I grabbed the mic stand and dove down to my knees during the "Since every cop's a criminal" line). The year before I played guitar in a band (we did VR covers) and sang Van Halen's "Right Now" in another talent show. I swear, my singing takes after Vince...but in a good way. its natural to take on characteristics of a favorite band in your music. i want to take on harmonica because i nurse a soft spot for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. but that is so great. i'm trying to learn guitar, but its pretty rough with my schedule. i have so much to do in so little time, ya know? my guitar deserves more attention, but i just have too much on my plate. so its rough. i know one chord. thats it. i can play smoke on the water (deep purple, notes only) and come as you are (nirvana), two of the easiest guitar songs ever. >< I stopped playing guitar because I couldn't get the chord changes fast enough. That and improvising was my worst on guitar. Bass it's no big, for some odd reason. idk. I'm suprised with what I do now that I was able to do all I have done. I just wish any of those bands stuck around a little longer. Music's been such a big part of my life. it's killed me this past year that I haven't been able to do much with it because of scheduling and no one with similar tastes and a guitar. you just gotta find time to practice, y'know?
